Kitty,

It is prayer. God can touch anyone anyway anywhere.

It is called Faith, that God will heal and He does.

Shalom Laura,

No, not really. What they are doing is actually being given a word from the Holy Spirit of His work in someone's life. They know of a specific healing or touch and call it out.

It is not prayer, but a gift of the Holy Spirit.

Also, just as an aside, G-d does not always heal, even if we have faith.

Vickilynn,

I know what Word of Knowledge is. I knew others would be explaining it in further detail.

I was just saying that it is through prayer, that God can answer prayers and heal from anywhere at anytime. Part of her question was about the TV prayers also.

Many believe in the Word of Knowledge, as I do, and others do not. To avoid controversary, I try to keep things simple :emot-highfive:

I thought that gift of "knowledge" was done away with along with teh gift of tongues :emot-highfive: Isn't it the samekind of knowledge Paul is talking about in 1 Cor 13 when he says that where they be tongues and prophecyings, they shall cease and... knowledege, etc?

Amen!

It does take faith, in order for these healings to happen. Even Jesus said He wouldn't heal people in His own town and the reason is the people in His own town didn't have faith He could do it. They watched Him grow up and doubted this carpenter's son could do anything. Their hearts were already hardened against Him. The ones who came from far away to Him, came with faith that He could heal them and they were healed.

Often, there are millions of people watching during the same show when the pastor calls out, "now a headache is being healed" and you wonder just how many headaches there are watching being healed when he calls that out. Can they possibly all be healed by God? Yes! If the ones watching have faith God can and will heal them. I've been one of those healings. The quickest way I've ever gotten rid of a headache is believing in God to take it away, and He does. It has everything to do with faith.

But I think you had to know there was a division over this issue before you asked the question, and had to figure going in that what you were bringing up would potentially cause a division between those who believe the gifts are in operation today and those who do not.

SHE KNEW IT WAS CONTROVERSARY, BUTERO LOL :whistling:

AND THANK YOU BUTERO, FOR YOUR ANSWER!

Shalom Laura,

I'm not trying to argue with you, but you should understand that your post is all we people know of you. And we don't know what you know or don't know or what you believe. I only went by the words contained in your post. I understand simplifying something, but the reason I spoke up is that what you wrote, although simple, was not accurate. I didn't want anyone confused or unintentionally misled. I wanted to clarify that what was happening on the 700 Club was not simple prayer or faith, but actually, Word of Knowledge.

It doesn't matter if someone believes in it or not, it is a Biblical reality, even if some believe it has passed away, it still is or was a specific gift of the Holy Spirit. I believe we should be as accurate as possible to avoid confusion, even if it is a controversial topic. Controversy is not a bad thing, in my opinion.

1 Corinthians 12

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

Two friends of mine were driving down a highway one afternoon, and it was raining pretty hard. As they were headed down the road, they saw a man in a suit walking in the rain coming the opposite direction. One of my friends (the passenger) said, "what is up with him?" Suddenly, my other friend who was driving just blurted out, "he is an evangelist, and his car just broke down up the road and he is headed back to the last town, to get help." So they turned around and stopped to help the man, and sure enough, he was on his way to a week of meetings to preach at a particular Church's campmeeting revival. I believe the word of knowledge is still in operation.

I have seen other instances first hand where the "word of knowledge" was in operation in such a way that there was no way it could have been anyone other the Lord using the individual through which the word came.

I don't think it is wise to limit our ability to believe that the Lord can and will still move in supernatual ways. It is one of the ways He is glorified and His Name is sanctified in the eyes of all people.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
