Interesting concept, Systemstrike - "truth is limited to the person trying to find it."

My daughter who is mentally retarded (learning difficulties if you want to be PC) has no concept of countries and continents and seas in between. As far as she is concerned, the sea is the wet stuff at the end of the sand where we go for a picnic in summer. There is no such place as America or Australia or lands that exist across an expanse of ocean in her understanding. Are you trying to tell me that truth is limited to a mentally handicapped girl's comprehension? America doesn't exist. Australia doesn't exist, because truth is limited by her (the person) trying to find it. Get real!

Ruth

I think Christians are like your daughter. She is unable to determine truth. Truth to her is from someone like you whom she can only trust. Christians 'volunteer' to have only the Bible to trust. Nothing else. Christians rely on it's authors to give the truth no matter how mind boggling it is.

BTW, Life wasn't fair to your daughter nor to you. I would have cried to my knees.

You just called every single Christian on this board mentally retarded, and used Ruth's learning-challenged daughter to make your point. Nice. :24:

I need a shower after that explosion of arrogance by justaguy! :)

Well I believe we are all unable to determine truth with out God, and Christians don't rely on authors, we rely on God, and God living in our lives. The Holy Spirit is a spiritual discerner, he is alive inside of us, guiding our hearts to truth that is beyond the worlds eyes.

Should a blind man say there is no sky because he can't see it?

Good point. Is the sky or clouds relevant to him? Only the gas to breath.

Anyway, you didn't learn about God until you read or heard from an outside source. None was ever detected by your own person.

Actualy I didn't learn about God until he revealed himself to me, my view of God was corrupt, all and all I had no clue, anything about him, heres a passage I want you to read.

1 Corinthians 2:6-16

6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9 But as it is written:

No, you are sensitive and accept every word from outside your clique as an offense. Sorry but this is a 'grown up' discussion. Rated G is likely found in the inner court I presume.

So you deny that this is what is implied by your statement? Then follow it up with more insults and call us childish. You'll learn when you move onto the 6th grade next year that grown up discussions don't include things like this.

I think that's the basic premise of the ol' spreading the Gospel thing. I'm certainly glad that someone took the time to tell me about Jesus.

Is this method that God has chosen somehow insufficient for you?

I'm talking about personal truth. To her, there is no America. Period. That is where truth ends for her. No matter what we think, or what we know, the truth is (for her) that America doesn't exist. In all reality, it could just run in circles....

So, if I believe the world is flat, and I don't know any better; then (to me) the world is flat. Unfortunately, we humans are trapped in this limited space called our brain.

I wonder if discussions like this are why God chose the name "I Am".

How did God reveal Himself to you? By just living under his instructions?

By how I found the Lord, By leading my direction, answering prayers, giving me insight about matters of my life as well as others, By spiritual gifts, by the Holy Spirit revealing himself in my life. Seriously it's such a trip having God in my life, before i knew him, I was so blind, so lost, but he opened my eyes, and he is living in my life.

Hey, if it makes sense to you then go for it. I once argued that my IQ falls below the understanding threshold for your faith. It isn't fair that you can go to heaven since it all makes perfect sense to you yet people like myself and folks worst off than me mentally aren't invited to heaven.

I actually completely agree with you. What the refutation will be is this:

"You are just choosing not to accept the truth".

I still get alot of people telling me that I am not a Christian because I do not believe the Bible to be without mistake. I call myself a Christian because I have a relationship with Christ and I believe God exists. I hold the Bible to be the Word of God, but only in the way that He transmitted His will to us through MAN. The bible was copied thousands and thousands of times over many many generations and some mistakes happened. I personally don't find it that big of a deal, but for some reason Christians have a big problem with it. I'm already discussing it on another thread.

To give you my advice, keep searching and don't give in. If you search willingly, the truth will find you sooner or later, no matter what that truth may be.

you are cobalt's mirror image. Lets stay on topic.

I'll take that as a compliment. :24:

Why would you think that belief is some sort of special knowledge and that you don't have the smarts to grasp it? It has much more to do with your heart than with intellect. The common phrase is "Get your heart right with God," not "get your mind right with God." It's simply believing. It isn't a test where you have to get all the answers right to get a good grade. God knows what you are capable of, your IQ doesn't figure into it. It isn't about me, or you, or anyone else and how much we can know or understand. It's not about what we can or will do for Him, it's simply about believing in Him, and letting Him work on us. God will use whatever you have. I am a pretty messed-up person, and I know you share that opinion with me, but I know that if it were not for the daily work of Christ in my life, I would be 50 times as messed up, and it wasn't me that fixed any of it, it was Him, simply because I believed He could and would. I couldn't do it, I tried for years and got no where. He can do the same for you.

I think what he is saying is that he is unable to logically believe in God. He can't just throw away his already aquired knowledge and "just believe".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
