As a man of 43 years of age, who has always been interested in such things as you mention above, and having studied, in various forms, the evidence for and against such sightings, I am inclined to believe that such things do not exist, in physical form.

However, just because I believe that, does not make it so.

(.....and does this not belong in the 'Conspiracy' forum?.........oh, sorry, I forgot.....we don't have one.... )

But, just as aliens and ghosts do not exist (in my opinion) in the way people generally understand them (having witnessed such things myself).....I have come to the conclusion over many years that such things are demonic....

....The ghosts and aliens, that is....not the chupacabras...

there are several animals that USED to be considered "crypto" but they have since been discovered.

So really, cryptozoology is the study of animals that are good at hiding from man. LOL

Actually I think they are good. Yes some of them drift into weirdness, but mainly they call for the rumored legendary animals (as well as some lesser known rumored animals) to be investigated by scientific means. Certainly there are new species that show up even these days. About a month ago I read of a new giant squid species they discovered. And a week or so ago, about some new species found in the jungle somewhere.

Oh, yes, there are certainly recent, confirmed sightings of certain (once thought of) extinct creatures. The coalacanth springs to mind.

And there are sightings dating from circa 1800 about frogs and other prehistoric creatures who have been 'trapped' in rocks, (alive ) only to be uncovered during mining expeditions, etc.

Some of these may or may not have been genuine.

But regards 'Bigfoot', chupacabras, the Loch Ness monster, alien abduction of cattle, etc.....I think some (if not most) of these border on the extreme, if not fantastic, and should not be given too much regard.

Of course they exist I have nightmares about nessy, big foot and Oh the yeti!!!! horrors!!!!! well Aaaaarghhh Sorry Giaour couldn't resist

I'm inclined to not believe in the existence of Big Foot. However, the Native American belief in it came from somewhere, and I doubt it was their version of "the Boogy Man." So

As for Nessie, it seems there is more evidence against than for. I used to give it the benefit of the doubt until the man responsible for the famous photo admitted that it was a hoax.

I never heard of the other two creatures mentioned.

I love this topic.

It seems like every other month or so, scientists are "discovering" an entirely new creature -- then the next month they go back to arrogantly assuming that because -they- haven't seen something, it must not exist.

Some of these creatures, like Nessie and Chupacabra are far too high profile, IMO, to exist. In other words, by their very natures, if they existed, they'd have been found by now. In Nessie's case, frankly, the loch just aint that big. It's been run over with a fine-tooth comb, as it were, on several occasions, with no sign of anything. Does this mean there's no such thing as a "sea serpant", or that Nessie never existed? Not really. But it certainly isn't around anymore. As for Chupacabra, the one thing we attribute to it is the slaughter of livestock. Many creatures also have this attribute, and all have been caught in the act. Sometimes, though, they aren't. The fact that Chupacabra has never been "caught" speaks for itself: it doesn't exist.

Some of the others, such as Bigfoot and some others, it's actually possible they do exist. The big problem, though, is that nobody's ever found a dead one. Especially given the advancement of technology and makeup we have today, with the absence of a carcass, the assumption has to be that they aren't there.
