You are sooooooooooooooo correct on that one Gerioke! And it still is!

That's true, but I thought that stopped when he got with Shannon? Who knows, that whole thing about all those women may have been all talk, too.

His son is so cute, and can sing, too.

Well according to him, Shannon and his kids................it hasn't stopped and according to Gene it wont, its his "right" :24:

Perhaps he is considering joining the mormons. :24:

Are they more lost than each of us were at one time?

t.

Oh, Heavens no, Ted. They need Christ just as much as the next guy...and Christ loves them JUST AS MUCH.

I guess this question was just the human side of me coming out.

I saw a certain guy performing (don't want to name names, as I want to keep this thread general and not a bashfest), and his personality was just SO transparent through his stage presence, and he just oozed arrogance.

I'm not talking about his necessity for the Lord...I was just talking about his demeanor.

Don't be hating!! It's hard work to be an idol!?!

Just a guess....

the record labels are hyping them as the greatest thing since Elvis and everyone around them is telling them they are the best band in the world. They have publicists making sure that they are being talked about and "journalists" asking them for their opinions on things they know nothing about.

Maybe it is insecurity though? They have to keep up an image amd be more "over the top" than the next rock star or they are old news quick. They have forgotten what a day job is (if they ever knew it at all) and just can't relate to people who wake up early on a Monday morning.

But maybe the reason is that they can't walk across the street without someone wanting an a piece of them so they learn how to be rude just so they can get to the other side??

Not all of them are arrogant though....are they?

I'm not talking about being rude....there are plenty of rude people who aren't arrogant.

Actually, there are SOME rock stars who have managed to attain success without an inflated ego.

George Harrison is a perfect example.

Most fans are looking for a larger than life figure to look up to. That's why the most popular entertainers are arrogant. It sells. :)

hmmmm.... i've always felt they were arrogant too, but just as i was about to post, a thought just jumped into my head.

maybe it's kinda like the bully mentality. their lives are so empty and they are so full of self-loathing that they try to fill the emptiness with partying and with women... and that type of lifestyle inflates their ego to the point that they don't have to acknowledge how empty they really are, and anyone who is "beneath them" is a threat to their little bubble so they protect themselves the only way they know how.... by acting superior to everyone else.

I'm sure they have a big void in their lives, that they are trying to fill with everything except the only thing that can fill it.

Shalom,

Am I on the right board? A CHRISTIAN board, where sinners saved by grace come to lift up the name of Jesus and exhibit His characteristics? Where we don't sit in judgment of people, or sit around speculating why sinners act as they do, but we say "there but for the grace of G-d go I" with humbleness. Where we have a heart of compassion for the unlovable who don't have Jesus because we know what it's like.

Sorry, I think I am in the wrong place. :)

Sorry Vickilynn, but whats the difference in this thread and say having a thread just for fun, or for food, how are either one of those lifting the name of Jesus? Or as for questioning how actors or musicians can behave the way they do and discussing politicians on other threads?

Hey, Vickilynn;

You know, you're right. I guess I wasn't really thinking when I started this thread...I had just seen someone on TV getting a little carried away, and I posted this thread in response.

I guess I wasn't really thinking. You're right....we don't have the right to judge anyone, and I am disappointed in myself for my first post, which I re-read and now realize was way harsh.

I am sorry. I was just honestly wondering why certain people act the way they do...I REALLY wasn't trying to judge them, although it does appear that I was.

Shame on me.

I apologize!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
