So here's an opportunity to extend your hand in Christian love and give Mr. Gore the props he deserves. I'll start: Mr. Gore seems like he would be fun to play board games with. Your turn.... I do think he cares

Look at the data for yourself rather than copying and pasting from certain sites. CO2 always lags temperature because it takes time for the oceans to respond to temperature changes in the atmosphere and release or take in the carbon....don't take their word for it...look at the data yourself. If CO2 were causing the current warming trend, then the layer of our atmosphere containg the CO2 should be hottest and it should be convecting or conducting the heat to the rest of the atmosphere.......Guess What? The CO2 containing layers are not warmer than the rest of the atmosphere....they are colder....so how in the world is the CO2 heating the climate? o.0 You see I do have a far bit of scientific training and I looked into the details that the GW proponents were talking about. They are correct in that we are going through a warming spell, but if you look at the sun's cycles and the behavior of clouds you can see why we are warming. CO2 is an indicator of what global temperature was doing in our recent past, it does not drive the climate. Its like saying that my fever has given me the flu, when I know full well that my fever is but a symptom of the flu bug that is at work in my body. Trend does not mean cause and effect. Since we are going off into a tangent, I started a new thread to address your post. Now, as I'm sure Al Gore himself would have laughed with me, I'm hoping all you Al Gore lovers won't hold this against me. I also heard that Gore almost nailed the role of HAL in "2001 A Space Odyssey," but his insistence that they use flourescent bulbs in the stage lighting kept him from getting the part. I wish I would have voted for him in the 2000 election. If he ever runs again I will vote for him; I think he's a good man overall epecially as far as politicans go. One other positive thing about Al Gore. In the 2000 Election, more Americans voted for him than voted for George Bush. In fact, around 500,000 more Americans voted for Al Gore than George Bush. Whew, and a disaster was averted by the nearest of margins. Fortunately it's not the popular vote that counts! Al Gore...he's not actually a bad guy and seems to be able to take a ribbing pretty well. And anybody married to a person with the name "Tipper" is OK in my book. Amazing how the rule of law came in handy for Bush supporters then (I was one of them way back then)....but doesn't seem to matter now.

Actually, you might want to be careful about judging his personality based on his socio-political values. I am acquainted with several liberal Democrats who are very nice people and that I get along with very well (as long as they don't start talking politics ).
