I hope that this is the right place to ask my question. :24:

This afternoon, I became convinced that I didn't love God enough.

So ... How can I love Him more?

My list so far includes:

1. Read the Bible more

2. Pray more.

3. Sin less.

Any other suggestions?

I think that I need to know Him more before I can love Him more.

What do you think? Any advice will be gratefully received as I really am frustrated by this thought.

I had the same question yesterday when I was praying. How do I really love God?

I guess it's keeping the commandments, being humble, helping those less fortunate than you, spreading the Gospel, and loving those you really don't want to love.

Praise HIM, even when you don't feel like it.

Remember that we are covered by the BLOOD of the LAMB. HIS GRACE is sufficient, so even when we stumble and fall, the LORD is ready to pick us back up and set us back on the narrow path that leads to HIM. :40:

God loves you no matter what our hinderances are. He understands our inability to always walk in His ways. There we pray continually with all supplication, that He may find us acceptable in His sight. Weaving the word into everything that we do, and tempering our understanding with faith.

Any way you can spend time with Him.

I know it is conventional to pray and read the Word as the means of spending time with Him. But sometimes it's good to just rest in His presence. It's like praying, only you don't say anything, really. Maybe ask Him to speak to you. And then quiet your thoughts (as best as you can, anyway).

Spend time in nature giving thanks for all the diverse plants and world He has created.

I find going to the beach and meditating on Psalm 46 is amazing.

You are seeking a commendable thing. : )

I compiled a list of the names of God and His attributes. In uninterrupted time, I think on a few of those and worship Him, getting my mind just on Him. Then listening time.

You are right in that you will love Him more when you learn more of him. Be careful in following your list that you don't end up in legalism which is so easy to do. I have to recommend some resources which will help:

If you want to love God more that ties into delighting more in Him and I cant recommend John Piper's resources enough for that.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

      Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
