3. In fact, Cheney still holds nearly half a million Halliburton stock options which have risen 3,281% in the last year and are now valued at over $8 million. Also, its an absolute fact that Bush's first big deal was Harken Energy (oil).

So? I own Haliburton stock too. I own a lot of stock. So what? What's wrong with owning oil stock? In today's economy you'd be crazy not to.

Are you jealous because you don't have any?

Well, if we are gonna hold the President accountable for the promises he made, but couldn't keep, then I guess we should hold every politician/person in the world that made a promise and couldn't keep.

How many promises have you failed to fulfill? If you have failed once, you are a hipocrit.

You're not stepping on my toes, but you do need to be corrected.

So, what do you expect to gain by becoming a member of worthyboards? A better understanding of Christianity and how it should govern our nation? Just be sure you have your priorities straight and it wouldn't hurt to introduce yourself and tell us why you are here.

Well, to answer both these at once, I never learned that Republican and Christian were the same thing as I grew up a Southern Baptist. I now attend Methodist services, oddly enough the same denomination as the President, but they haven't caught on to that either.

I guess I thought this board might accept politics as secular, not a matter of faith and therefore open to debate. I didn't realize expressing a view other than hard right Republican meant I was unChristian and unAmerican. Maybe this is the wrong place for me.

No hard feelings.

Love in Christ,

Mac

Never any hard feelings, Mac. We all endure a "baptism by fire" here. You'll fit in. Stick around and learn how to take us. With a grain pound of salt. :emot-handshake:

Dan, I am in agreement with you. I pray for GWB every day. I believe he is a genuine G-d fearing man. Far from perfect, yes. I posted a piece about his low numbers in the polls. Try to read it. The writer of the piece gives what I think are good reasons for the low rating. Considering how strong the economy is and how safe we have been since 9/11, the low numbers are baffling. Never has one man rubbed so many the wrong way.

I believe one of the many good things about Mr. Bush is that his concern is not ratings. I honestly don't think he cares what the ratings say. He makes his decisions on what he believes is right--not what is popular. We may not all agree with all his decisions, but I don't think anyone can say of him that popularity is a goal of his. (Even though he has had the highest rating of any other President.) That's a basic element of a good leader.

Maybe GWB has rubbed so many people the wrong way because so many people care not for the ways of God.

Exactly...

Simple...people who hate rich oil men shouldn't use any more oil than necessary. Don't eat out. Keep your house as warm or cold as you can bear, don't take vacations where you travel, no entertainment. Don't use the AC in church on Sundays. Ect... Live like a hermit so you can keep as much money out of Bush and Cheney hands as possible.

Rich oil men should be given a metal for running the price of gas up. Lower prices discourage conservation and promote global warming.

No my friend..... your way off. Its not Bush's fault, it ours.

Dan

Good point.

Mac...Michael Moore owns stock in Haliburton. Lots of it. As far as religion goes, I don't think I made this a religious post other than I used the common term, "God Bless". He could be an atheist and it wouldn't change my opinion about the decisions he's had to make. I believe History will proove that he tried to do the right thing. Even if Saddam wasn't the real reason. He could have never sold the war on the true reason but the true reason is valid none the less. Its reality. Most people don't really understand what would happen if we didn't have a heavy military presence in that region. They are too busy enjoying the good life thats built on the free flow of oil.

One thing I've been feeling convicted about...

If the Lord meant to use Pres. Bush as a test to see if the Church would spend its time praying and interceding for the president as opposed to condemning him, I would say that we have failed miserably.

Bush could have stayed on his ranch and lived the good life. He ran here in Texas because we asked him to. He ran in 2000 because he was asked to. He never had a Hillary style life long plan to be President. You couldn't pay me enough to take his job. Instead of sitting on his backside in Crawford, he sitting in D.C. taking more dung than anyone I have ever seen. I'm not an evengelical. Nor am I even much of a Christian but I do know that Darkness hates the Light. I'm sorry, but if Al Gore, Clinton, Edwards, Kerry, Hollywood and Dan Rather are the light, I want to be in darkness. To me Bush must be part of the light because of the Devils who hate him so much. I can't even stand the rock stars I once listened to because of the way the openly rip this man. Neil Young, Mick Jagger, Don Henley ect. I wonder how much oil based products these clowns use in one week?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
