First of all, I think people need to understand what the video is portraying. It does show exactly what some people think Jesus is.

There are a thousand better ways to put that message out there, if that's your calling.

Making a mockery of Jesus in a movie is not one of the ones I'd choose.

If you don't realize that you need to get out into the world and find out.

We're on the internet. There's more "world" on here than you can find in any town in any country. We ARE "out in the world".

Not all Christians(in fact, hardly any) are as shut-in as nonchristians may think.

Second, a lot of people see God as someone who has no sense of humor. Has anyone ever made a joke about you? I for one have been a target of jokes and I laugh alongside the people that make them. I don't get angry and condemn them.

If God made me in His image and I can take a joke why can't He? In fact, I think our God should be a target for more of our jokes. He's our God, our Father, our friend and he tells us over and over how much he loves and cares for us. So why are we so afraid of laughing at Him or with Him?

What about if someone made a joke about someone close to you, like your mom. Would that not make you mad? What if the whole world came to a comedy act that specifically targeted your mom and made her look utterly repulsive. What if she told you, "It doesn't bother me, don't worry." but everywhere you went, people were joking and mocking her and pointing at you, laughing, because you are the child of this "joke"? Seem extreme? Satan never slips sin in all at once, it's always in small doses and always seems so innocent at first.

His goal is to destroy the image of God and, FYI, that includes us.

Well, I wasn't aware that these videos were redubbed but, if that's the case, the originals appear to be awful as well. I do think they ridicule the Lord by portraying Him in this way, even tongue in cheek, because our Savior should only be contemplated seriously. Making light of Jesus is the devil's way of marginalising Him, IMHO. :21:

I thought it was VERY obvious that it's redubbed. But anyway, if you think they're making light of Jesus, I guess that's your opinion...I think what they're making light of is people's skewed view of what Jesus is, and if you read what their website says about them, that's pretty much what they say too. They clearly say what their intentions are, so frankly, I don't much care what anyone else thinks their intentions are.

I read their statement of doctrine and it seems to be pretty sound. The videos are bad and, though not as offensive as I originally thought, really stupid. I guess they were going for 'shake 'em up and get their attention' to draw people to their ministry. Another tempest in a teapot. :24:

So, after the satyrs are finished, do they then present the truth?

Do the unsaved who see these videos leaving with a sense of the wonder and majesty of Jesus, or just leave laughing at the "Christian crocks"?

Sadly, probably the latter. :21:

What you have come up with is totally without bible merit. There is no such attitude in the bible about making fun of God to show His love or mercy. Satan loves this type of false belief system.

I lived in the stand up comedy world so maybe I have a bigger sense of humor than most people. But we make fun of people we care about everyday. Not only that but the people we make fun of laugh along with us and make jokes about us too. No one mocks us indefinitely for a joke. I've shown these videos to people who were not Christians and 90 percent of the time, they go away with a different perspective of Jesus. They realize that this is exactly how they see Jesus and how obviously stupid it really is to view him as this. The other 10 percent believe it or not get angry and think we're making fun of their views of Jesus. No one comes away from this saying "yep thats how Jesus was, let's go make fun of him more".

Fair enough - but that only works the way it was meant with someone there to point this out. Think of those who stumble across this without someone to guide their thinking towards the intent.

If they had at the beginning: "Is this Jesus?" or "Is this your view of Jesus?" and then a follow-up comment at the end, I could live with it.

The way it stands, however, it leaves the interpretation up to the viewer, and there is no guarantee the message as meant has gotten through.

This is Spiritlas thinking. God's Spirit never uses such tactics to win the lost. Only satan uses this too make mockery of God.

Exactly. And it opens the door to further mockery of Jesus.

No one mocks us indefinitely for a joke.

That's because we're nobodies on this planet but Jesus is God. Satan is the driving force behind the mockery. What would drive satan to mock any of us for a long period of time? What would he get out of it, save our boasting of our own notoriety.

Jesus has His own forces at work teaching the world about who He is, He doesn't need satan's help and satan knows this. The only thing that snake can do is try to mar His perfect reputation with mockery and lies.

*laugh* okay, it took me a full minute to realize you meant "satires"...here I was picturing half-goat, merrymaking greek mythological creatures with little wooden pipes, and thinking that it was some sort of expression akin to "the fat lady sings." Man, I am SUCH a nerd.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
