Ya' know the funny thing about lies? You have to know the truth before you discover the lies.

Sean Penn declared under his breath last night at the Oscars that actors know there were no WMD's. Well, I wonder what special information Hollywood's actors are privy to, that our government is not.

The truth of the matter concerning George Bush's supposed "lies" is that no truths have as yet been solidified to reveal that any lies have been concocted to take us to war. Sure, there are statements made about this and that by certain individuals - even ones who have been Iraqi inspectors, and there may be as yet a Congressional investigation. But there has yet to be a single shred of concrete evidence that any acts of misrepresentation have been committed by the Bush administration. Yet because of some statements made by the "leftists" of this country, people are willing to take the rhetoric as fact.

It's amazing the garbage people are willing to believe. Just because thus-and-such actor, or politial nitwit, tells the public "There are no WMD's. not were there ever any WMD's," doesn't mean that it's true. People forget that there is a political agenda from the left to besmirtch (sp?) the name of George Bush and the political party he represents, and to get the Dems in power, at any cost. I personally trust any politician as far as I can throw him - whether it's George Bush or any other political candidate. The same goes for these "know-it-all" actors (Although I could probably throw Gwyneth Paltro a pretty good distance  )

So who is willing to reserve their judgment to the findings of a Congressional investigation? Very few people. We all have the "Cops" mentality. You know, that T.V. show where they show cops arresting people on the street? It doesn't matter that there is a disclaimer at the beginning of each show stating "All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law." We are willing to render our judgments right then and there. Our society is knee-jerk to judge, but slow to vindicate and justify - running contrary to the Bible's exhortations to, "Be slow to wrath," and "...let not your heart hastily utter anything."

Well....that's my rant for the week....

All tolled the actual death toll from the ongoing war against Iraq is probably nearing or over the 2 million mark, much more carnage than Saddam ever committed against the Iraqi people, whether Kurd or Shia.

This is a completely unfounded statement.

Now that it is clear that the original stated reason for this war was based on a pack of lies, the American people should now be asking themselves: WHAT IS THE REAL REASON FOR THIS WAR? Why has our Government continually lied to us?

Yet another unfounded statement. I think if it were clear that Bush lied to the American people concerning the war, there would be an impeachment, yes? So where is the impeachment? Kay stated his opinion concerning WMD's, nothing more. Like everyone, he is entitled to his opinion. Doesn't mean he's right, though.

I to am among the people who think we are in both Afghanistan and Iraq for the oil.

So we're taking over the world's second oil producing country just so we can have the oil, eh? Then tell me why the U.S. is giving Iraq back to the people of Iraq. Doesn't make much sense to me if were in it just for the oil.

The oil production in this country peaked many years ago and it is going to peak globally in the next few years. (most likely within the next 5 to 10).

Not true. Oh, sure, if you talk to an environmentalist who uses the "green house, natural resources, oil reserves, clean water, starvation" scare tactics, we'll all suffer the effects of depleting resources and hot house gasses in a matter of only a few years. The entire human race will be wiped off the planet in about 5 years' time.

This is an absolute load of hogwash, however. Political rhetoric spawned by certain environmentalist groups. The fact of the matter is that the world has enough oil reserves the world over to last more than 20 years (That being the reserves that we already have tapped - that says nothing for the ones that we have yet to discover), technology has improved water systems in most developed countries - and those that do not have them will most likely have clean water systems in a matter of a decade or so - and the world will never run out of water. The greenhouse effect is a myth - recent studies have shown there not to have been a significant increases in greenhouse gasses over the past 80 + years - Again, technology is significantly decreasing the amount of carbon based emissions into the atmosphere (Basically the issue boils down to carbon emissions. See the most recent issue of National Geographic concerning the carbon cycle). Many scientists now are looking at the earth's natural cycles to explain global climatary changes, instead of human intervention. The earth's natural resources are not being depleted at all. And most starvation in undeveloped countries is not due to the lack of resources, but because of political corruption, crime, and brutal dictatorships.

Our military is doing this country one of the greatest services ever, even on the level of WW I and WW II. Without the oil coming from the areas that we are actively engaged in we will not survive as a strong nation, and maybe not even at all.

Are you equating the United States government with Nazi Germany!!??

Which countries has the United States taken control of for the strict purpose of hijacking their oil reserves? Please qualify your statement here with solid evidence.

Do you realize that if we cut our oil supplies that we will have mass starvation in this country very quickly. The groceries in the store will only last for 7 to 12 days, and with the hoarding that will occur not likely more than 2 for most.

Completely unfounded and speculative. Most of the nation's energy comes from coal, water (hydroelectric) and nuclear power plants. Cutting our $5 million a day purchase of foreign oil would not directly cause mass starvation in America.

I agree that we need to seek better, cleaner sources of energy, and stop dependence on foreign oil. But please, don't buy into the scare tactics and rhetoric. We've already got the ball rolling in a spectrum of areas - such as alternative energy automobiles, and resources for consumer energy. We cannot simply expect to make the giant leap into these resources however. The techonoly is not completely there yet, and we are not there yet financially. Think it's so easy to simply stop a train that's been running on the same track for 40 years?

BTW: I just loooovvvvedd Hillary Clinton's comments to the effect that women were better off under the brutal regime of SaddamHussein than they are now, after the country has been liberated. :suspect:

God man you made several valid points and I thank you. We all have to remember that what we are hearing is not unbiased. Any news we do get is biased according to what their agenda is. So stating that I take what I hear and automatically throw half out the window. The second half i scrutinize very carefully and throw out half of that. The balance I divide into four catagories Trash, possible trash, merit and truthfulness. I throw out the trash and possible trash and concetrate on merit and truthfulness. Then I pick out any truth I see and there is very little of that and keep that and discard the rest of the rubbish.

works for me.

This planet is suffering from pollution. We need to conserve our resources more carefully. Yes we have the technology to have more efficent transportation etc. but the powers that be continue to squash any promising projects in the interest of the almighty dollar. But we are paying a price now. Not in the future but now. Our air and water is polluted by contaminants that Nature cannot overcome easily.

What an inheritance our children have don't you think?

God-man, thank you very much, you said what I was thinking. If it is ever proved that GWB has been lying then I will react.

Papasangel, while it's true that the world suffers from pollution, I do not understand your problem with "the powers that be". Are they forcing huge SUV's and road hungry muscle cars down our throats? Are they not on the cutting edge of technology with hybrid autos? THey are simply giving their customers what they are asking for WORLDWIDE. This is not an American company issue. This is an American market issue. Import auto companies churn out bigger and bigger vehicles for the US only. So before you blame "corporate America", you better look in all our garages.

I blame mankind for our problem and corporate greed. Since the 1960's there have been prototypes worked up and hushed by the big corporations. How do I know? I have seen three myelf from engineers whom have built them. I was blessed to have nieghbors who tinkered with different things. One of them ran on something called gas-ahol made from corn. Another on methane from garbage we generate. The other was solar powered but had more than one glitch in it. Yet when these were presented to car makers they were turned down. Look in old issues of Mother Earth news and you will see more prototypes of transportation.

I blame corporate greed for polluting our land yes. They are too cheap to install air filters unless they are forced to to clean the air they pollute. They dump in our rivers and streams killing fish. Mankind throws his trash anywhere and animals die because of it. I am not a rabid enviormentalist by all means but even I can see that. I commercial crabbed the Chesapeke Bay as a child with my Dad and watch the bay dying year by year from pollution. Its not just in America this is happening. Jaque Costeau made several documentries about the earth being polluted in our seas. This is a world wide problem and everyone has to take some responsibility and do their part in helping clean up the world. We already have a lot of junk in space too.

Nope, we're just getting rid of a very bad government that we were responsible for being there and hopefully letting them create one that is a little more likely to do business with us. We are not stealing their oil just making sure we can buy it some day.

Yep, it's peaked.

I don't disagree that the global warming stuff is a a farce. There are too many natural things also happening that have more effect than CO2.. I am glad we did away with freon based gases for they are distructive. So is a cow poot.

Are you equating the United States government with Nazi Germany!!??

I'm not going there, however the Bush family is familar with the Nazi's. Check up on what his grandfather was doing during WW II.

Most of the food in this country is delivered by truck and/or train which would get very slow if we lost all our imported oil. Just about everything runs on deisel or jet fuel for the planes and you can't just take crude oil and turn it all into fuel for trucks. It doesn't work that way.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
