:P from damo1

i know what you are saying hear and i use to sing this song in william booth when put my self in a salvation army rehab to sort my self out and deal with the drugs i was use to as we use to sing this song every sunday wonder working power and i also know how to play this on the guitar as we do use this in our church not often but we do sing this song

what should be taught and not many do this with a new believer is this they should be taught how to use there god given gifts and taken out with some one experienced who can teach them how to testify to the lost

my old pastor did this with me in 1988 when i came out of jail and gave my heart to the lord as he does not believe a christian should be scared of reaching out or being involved in out reach we use to hand out tracts and share our testimony in canberra and in dixon another suburb of canberra and my pastor use to go and preach in the mall every thursday and friday you would find him their with his guitar and singing and handing out tracts and preaching gods word the church also took over the chess pit and does church in the mall every second sunday and its did great for the town and bought peace into the area

what we do hear in my town is go to the look out and pray over our city we are also going to start going out on full moons and taking over the look out as ocultic activities happen around this time and those involved in this come against the church its been done hear many times as these people run when they see us they jump over the wall and hiss as we are taking over what the enemy has claimed

i have done this several times my self and found when i take a christian out with me they almost freak out this happened in sydney as one wanted to know how to reach out to the street kids and homeless so i took him wear i use to live in a run down old motel which is still being used by homeless people and street kids this person freaked out when some one said hello to him or a street kid would stop and have a conversation i had to pray with him away from the others as i could see it in his eyes he was not handling this

hear in my country we can do this openly wear my friend lives in china she has to be very care full even her own parents can have her arrested and thrown in jail for preaching or sharing to them about jesus she has to have a provisional licence to go to church she has to tel the goverment openly and they drill her and its awlays in the back of her head and i am constantly praying for her as she knows that one day she can be arrested and thrown in jail with many of her other brothers and sisters

this is what churches should be doing training people and helping them over come this fear i do this yet i train up people also not to be offensive when testifying to the lost and its working well

thank you for sharing this yet we also need to keep those that have not got the freedom we have in our countrys to do this and for china i do not think its guilty to wear a christian should testify about god as this is dangerous for them to do and in some parts of india

Is it guilty not to tell about the Lord and his salvation to others? The Bible tells in different places to make known his salvation day by day.Lord Jesus also commanded to testify. They were made witnesses of Jesus. How the LORD will take it into account if you don't do this?

I was raised in an Evangelical Free Church. For those who do not know what that means, it doesn't mean 'free from evangelizing :emot-highfive: '

The word evangelical meant that the church focused on telling others about Jesus' salvation. The word free simply meant the church didn't hold to any particular doctrine that divided other Christians. For example some believe you can't be saved without water baptism. Some believe the baptism should be done when an infant and others believe it's meaningless if the person being baptized can't understand what baptism means. Still others quibble about being baptized in natural body of water, immersion, sprinkling etc. Being a 'free' church simply meant that the church took no official position on such issues and left this up to the conscience of each person.

Kind of cool, but the emphasis on evangelism always bothered me. I would listen to the 'testimonials' or salvation stories of others and realize I had nothing to say. One person was a drug addict prostitute who had hit rock bottom and then accepted Jesus and I was just this guy raised from birth to believe what I believed. My story really wasn't very interesting or inspiring compared to the drug addicted prostitutes.

I also wondered why evangelism was important in today's world. I mean if you think about it everyone in the US has heard of Jesus haven't they? Statistics say 80-90% of the US population self identifies as Christian.

What's the point of evangelism in a nation filled with professing Christians when one really doesn't have a compelling salvation story to tell?

Don't be fooled by that 80%-90%. Most people who claim to be Christians only think they're Christian. They don't realize that just going to church or just believing that there's a God doesn't make them a Christian.

One doesn't have to have a past that's soaked with sin to be a witness for Jesus. Talk to God (and perhaps your pastor) about how. Maybe all God wants you to do is live out the Christian walk and, when somebody asks what makes you different from other people, tell them about Jesus. But again, talk to God about how He wants you to be a witness for Him.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
