Grace to you sister,

Now, if you want to talk about weirdness - what was with that baby/imp Satan was carrying?

My wife asked me that as well.

My immediate impression was the sin of the world. The manifestation of said sin in a birth.

The Lord had said behold I go to make all things new.

Here was all the hatred and sin. Here was a manifestation of all that is the world and all that is not the New Birth of the Spirit.

Just my thoughts. Anyone else?

Peace,

Dave

Adstar:

Thank you for your gracious words, thus fulfilling Galatians 6:10.

I, too, am a former "Roman", although I have not received my ex-communication papers as yet. I grew up in Manchester,Missouri and attended Roman Catholic grade school and Jesuit high school(St. Louis U. High). I was "religious" until about 6 years ago, when I heard the gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and the LORD by His grace(Eph. 2:8.9) saved me. Regrettably, my parents and my 3 brothers and sister still are caught in the bondage which is the Roman Catholic Church. As stated previously, I understand that I can make no judgment as to their salvation. However, my heart grieves when I talk with them, or with "... them that are lost...."(2 Cor. 4:3), about their understanding of "...the redemption that is in Christ Jesus"(Romans 3:24).

In Christ,

John M. Whalen

Grace to you brother Whalen,

Dr. Luke says:

"People are being convicted of their sin and giving their lives to Christ".

Dr. Luke-Are you saying that "giving your life to Christ" saves you? Please clarify. It seems you are, for you are "tieing" conviction and "giving your life to Christ. "Giving your life to Christ" is not the basis of one's salvation, nor will it save anyone, nor has anyone given their life to Christ. If they have, and "giving my life to Christ" is a prerequisite to salvation, please(anyone on the board) tell me how much of one's life must be "given" to Christ to be saved? 51%? 70%? 86.89%? Is 99.99% sufficient. Has anyone on this board "given their life to Christ" 100%? I know I haven't. This is not a false humility-it is the truth.

This is on the bottom of all my posts;

Paid for by the blood of the Lamb.

In red to remind me how I got here.

What happens after that is the fruit of your new life.

What point did their lives have prior to that?

What is the whole point of being Saved? But to Glorify the Lord with your very inheritence.

Or are you saved to just continue on with your life the way you see fit?

Why did the Lord create you?

Peace,

Dave

Truthfully, I don't want to get into a big hairy debate over Catholicism.

I don't either, but I think it is important for people to understand what the Bible does and does NOT say.

I am quite sure that if we were to sit down with that film and pair of scissors and cut out everything that was not scriptural, what was left would not be much of a film.

Now, if you want to talk about weirdness - what was with that baby/imp Satan was carrying?

Someone on another board suggested that that was the Serpent

Nebula-You write:

"Hey, John!

After reading what you just wrote - Do you think you can give an answer to Nebechadneza## on this thread?"

Could you provide me some "background" here? As Yogi Berra would say, "If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up somewhere else"!

Thnks for your request! John M. Whalen

Not much background. This guy just popped in with a few threads presenting different challenges. What you see in that thread is what you get. That's all I can say, really. Read the thread, and judge for yourself, I guess.

You can see that I have not been here long, and have not posted much, but I wanted to add my thoughts. Remember that there is no resurection without the crucifixion. The crucifixion is incredibly important, and we need to remember daily the sacrifice that was made for us. We should always personally try to put our Savior on the Throne and ourselves upon the cross.

What I got most from this incredible film was an overwhelming feeling of "unworthyness", and a glimpse of the love that God would like to see us express. No one knows all the specifics of what transpired in those "12 hours". Did a beaten Christ fall while carrying the cross? I would think so. All the mothers here that have seen this film, were a mothers feelings accurately portrayed? I think so. Mary was chosen by God to bear His Son, so no, she is not just some everyday human like us.

Another thing that I saw and would like to relate it to all current day Christians is the literalist view that the Pharisees held. No one denomination today has everything correct. There will be Christians from so many denominations in Heaven! And conversely many "members" of all denominations in hell. We need to remember to keep the Law where it belongs in this new Covenant with Christ. The most important message is that God IS love. And I have a much better understanding of love after seeing Jesus in this film.

God Bless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
