Battle of Flesh and Spirit

Thought I share with you His Words, and let Him minister to you any slight correction through them so that your witness may be clearer in expressing your faith. Sometimes the things we say, we pick up from others or those we go to church with, and never really consider if it is in the Bible to say or do.

1 Timothy 2: 5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

John 14: 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 5: 22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

John 13: 31Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

John 17: 1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

Philippians 2: 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 15:26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

2 Corinthians 13: 5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

John 14: 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. 25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Have you ever noticed how there is not one single invitation to the Holy Spirit? That is because the Holy Spirit is the promise for all those that come to Jesus.

Ephesians 1: 12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. 15Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

So if the indwelling Holy Spirit seeks to point to Jesus Christ... by testifying of Jesus Christ and thereby glorifying Jesus Christ... so are we to also. Yes the Holy Spirit is God, but it is the will of the Father to honor the Son and the Holy Spirit is fulfilling the role not only as the Comforter but as a Divine Witness as well. Jesus Christ is Your Good Shepherd. He is the High Priest to go to in prayer as well as the only mediator between God and man.

Hebrews 4: 12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We can only glorify God the Father through the Son. And since the indwelling Holy Spirit seeks to glorify the Son, so should we also. I believe the major misconception given in today's churches is the misuse of this verse below.

Romans 8: 26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. King James Version

We make intercessions for saints but that doesn't mean we should have prayers sent to us. And if you note, the Holy Spirit makes intercessions with groans not uttered.. meaning nothing said. Then one would ask.. how is intercessions are made then by the Spirit? Indirectly. Look at the next verse as it ties in with the first one. Now the "he" that searcheth the hearts that knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit is none other than Jesus Christ.... because "he" maketh intercessions for the saints according to the will of God due to the fact that He is the only mediator between God and man.

So when the Holy Spirit speaks to you, it is done expressly...as in whatever He hears from Jesus, that He shall speak.

1 Timothy 4: 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

He also can bring into remebrance all things Jesus has taught unto you, but in all respect, Jesus is Your Good Shepherd and He guides you through the Holy Spirit in you. The Holy Spirit is directing your attention and focus on Jesus as in seeking His face as any faithful witness of man would do in pointing to Jesus and not to himself. The relation of the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ as the Comforter is to assure us that Jesus is with us always.

Matthew 28: 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Remember John 16:13-15 mentioned above earlier? ..... for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

So all the fruits of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are from Jesus Christ as He is the one that will finish it.

Hebrews 12: 1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Philippians 1: 6Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 7Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 8For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. 9And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. 11Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Anyway, pray about this. I think you will find the Holy Spirit pointing you to Jesus.. not to himself. It is good to know He is in us, but let us look to Whom the indwelling Holy Spirit is pointing to through His testimony thereby glorifying Jesus Christ the Lord. By His Word, that is only way to honour and to glorify God the Father... is through the Son. That is what the indwelling Holy Spirit is doing & seeks for us to do too.

i would have to rebuke you on this alone to what you said hear to me have you botherd to read this persons post that he left this is what i mean about people not spending the time to read a post i am very strong and i am very grounded in gods word i do not need some one like you saying some thing like this i read every thing that you stated hear and i will later on pm you my self have you as a chrisitan botherd to hear what this person stated in this post its an issue that most men deal with and unless you are a man your self you will under stand what men go threw i do not appreciate this at all as i have come a long way in my walk and i depend on the holy spirit to guide me alone when i am reading gods word

my wittness is very clear i know wear god is leading me as a person and i am not one of these people that ignore the sprit as the holy spirit is given to us to guide us threw gods living word the same spirit that was active when the disciples wear walking the earth and even when the apostles wear walking the earth is active today when a new christian gives their lives to god

he is sent to help he is their to guide us threw gods living word and he is always going to be hear for us

i left you one post to read i came across your post and i did not like what you said i am very strong in my walk and i shared in one of your other topics i am about to become a pastor and i wil be raised from with in the church i am going to be looking after i wil be moving to the philippines and helping my futer wife who also is a pastor to pastor this new church she has planted so you as a person need not to worry if i am saved or if i am grounded in gods word

i have good strong mature christians around me i have teachers who teach at the coc bible collage supporting me and i will be going back to my old church wear i started my walk before i am given the go ahead to become a filapino citazen

have you gone over the topic to what we have been sharing hear as to me i feel its foolishness to even think like this and if we are ot just depend on god or jesus what is the point then of having the holy spirit be appert of us it like saying all we need is jesus and god and ignore the holy spirit i am sorry but go over what we as men have been sharing hear before making any suggestions alone i gave out some points what helped me as a person over come my temptations and i also jotted down some books that will be help full to read on what the holy spirit can do for us while we are living on this earth as he is hear to help us

all i am going to say on this i am not going to change my views as a person to how i see who the holy spirit is each to his own on how they see who the holy spirit is my relationship wiith god has grown since i began to dig into gods word and when i saw the spirit as a living being i walked hand in hand with the holy spirit he helped me understand gods word he helped me deal with the temptations i was dealing with and he helps me still to this day i treat the holy spirit with the utter respect and never bombard him with rubbish or man made doctrine and i will not go over what my spiritual mentors taught me and just go by what some thinks i should be doing as this would be mocking god and mocking what the disciples and apostles did for us

while they wear alive on this earth and i can rest very peac full nowing that he is their when ever i need him as the holy spirit always gudies me threw gods living word and we have a strong bond and i wil not put the holy spirit in a box and do what some have done and that is ignore him

By all means be led of the Holy Spirit, don't grieve the Spirit, and be filled with the Spirit. Stay solid in the Word of God, that is excellent council for us all.

The issue comes when someone has the "nerve" to disagree with us, or to try to teach us, or to try to advise us. If our pride is offended, and our toes are stepped on, it is evident that we are still needing to humble ourselves under the hand of God. These faceless people that post here are not proclaiming their degrees or years of experience, but many of them have ministered over 25 years, and you never know whom God might send to give us a tiny word of encouragement or correction, not that it matters who they are, but it matters that we are open to God speaking to us in a child's voice, or through whomever He might choose to speak.

I have personally been offended many times here, but when I pray about it, often I find that the attitude that I need to correct is mine, not someone else's.

Please, let the peace of God fill your heart, and again I say, if any have offended, forgive.

i am not sure what you are getting at hear or what you are trying to say i know of Paul and what god did in Paul's life and i also understand the apostle Paul very well as i did a study on the apostle Paul and to what i see he also tells the body not to grieve the holy spirit often Paul would rebuke in love and often Paul had the others rebuking him at one point in his life yet it was gods spirit that led even Paul or was it Paul that led him self and was it Paul speaking to men when he would enter a church or speak in public ?

the spirit gives us words to say to those who are unbelievers it is not us speaking to the unbeliever but the spirit of god working threw us to reach out to those walking in darkness it can not be Damien speaking to the unbeliever but the holy spirit of god speaking threw Damien to reach out to the one walking in darkness

the father the son and the holy spirit work as a team they never work against each other they always work together it wes gods spirit working threw his son and it was gods living spirit working threw the disciples and threw the apostles

not once did Jesus disobey god or step out of line he even said to his disciples i am going to send you a helper and he Will guide you threw gods living word

so if we are going to try to correct some one in brotherly love then we better under stand wear the brother is coming from or what the brother is trying to share as gods living word never lies its only twisted when we do not go back to gods word and read what is said

so you see even Jesus said to his disciples that he is going to send them a helper he did not say you do not need the holy sport and all you need is me he helped them as much as he could while he was alive on this earth and when he new his time was up and said to the disciples what was going to happen to them he said it bluntly i am sending you a helper

they all as i said work together never against each other so how is it by what i shared in my posts to what i as a person is miss leading some one when i gave out simple points in how these books that i gave to help some one else

when the spirit convicted me of what i was doing i had to see him as a real person when i was slipping i never saw the holy spirit this way i did what most normal men did and that is i allowed my sin to take over instead of nailing my sin that was active on the cross and walking away from it instead i fed the spirit that was living with in porn i fed him rubbish i fed him violence and this was killing gods spirit as i was allowing my flesh to win and when i shared in the post that i left i shared to what i put the holy spirit threw and when the holy spirit of god convicted me of what i was allowing my self to view i had to repent and i had to even ask the holy spirit to forgive me for bombarding him with the filth i was viewing

so please tell me how then are we to explainer to new Christian what you left for me do we ignore the holy spirit all together and just depend on god and as you say the good shepherd or do we also talk honestly and say the holy spirit is a real person and we are to even treat him with the utter respect he deserves as it is the holy spirit that guides us not our selves when it comes to gods living word and it is the holy spirit that gives us words to say to those we now who are living in sin it is never me me me speaking from my head

so i hope you can see what i am saying hear as i never allow my own head to do the talking when it comes to sharing to some one what i have been threw and how the holy spirit has helped me to deal with what he was asking me to deal with
