Shalom SP,

It is not bashing of any type. Sorry dear, you are missing the point of this thread then. I'm sorry you feel that way, but then, we never do agree, do we?

Shalom,

Give thanks with a grateful heart,

Give thanks to the Holy One,

Give thanks because He's given

Jesus Christ His Son.

And now let the weak say "I am strong."

Let the poor say "I am rich."

Because of what the L-rd has done

for us

Give thanks.

Speak to one another

in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,

offering praise and making melody with all your heart

unto the L-rd,

at all times and in everything,

unto G-d the Father

in the name of

our L-rd Jesus Christ.

May you and your loved ones

be especially blest.

Yep, believe it or not we agree quite often, just never when it comes to making a stand about something that "I" feel shouldn't be used to force things down peoples throats. I am thankful today for so many things I can't even name them all. I'm thankful for your comment in my profile, because you understand, I mean, really understand how hard it is for me to be thankful today. I'm could cry right now I'm so thankful for how this day went with my family and the absolute peace I have felt all day, and I know Who has given me that peace. Nope sweety, we agree alot, and today I'll agree to shut up and leave your thread alone, because I understand what your saying, and that it is said with great love, even if I don't agree 100% with it. :emot-hug: God bless you sister!

Shalom SP,

Yes, I DO understand what you're going through and the holidays can be so difficult missing those we love so much but are not with us any longer. I DO understand the pain you feel and I do not want to add to that pain. I pray for G-d's sweet comfort for you SP and His grace to hold you up during the holidays. G-d bless you too SP!

Agreed. :emot-hug:

But, I don't think to many people place the turkey over the God. There may be some laziness out there, but I would imagine most who claim the Blood of Christ understand what the deal is. :emot-hug:

Shalom Ted,

So then, what is wrong with a simple reminder to exalt the ONE who gives the blessings, rather than with what it is celebrated? Sometimes we can get our eyes off the real issue and forget where our next breath comes from. That is the reason for this thread.

Nothing at all.

My aunt whom I love dearly and has alternative beliefs, I have noticed she does NOT say 'Happy Thanksgiving'. I say Happy Thanksgiving, and she pauses, and then says 'Happy Turkey Day'. I dont know if she has any reason for it, and I did not ask her, but anyways, I dont know what my point is. Guess I dont have one there really.

But she did cause me to give examination to the two different terms, and just as I was pondering that, Vickilynn posted this topic. I thank you Vickilynn, and

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :emot-hug:

I call it turkey day....... just another day in my life that I am thankful for......

for my entire military career i spent two, maybe three times on Dec 25th at home with family ( i am retired ) I have only had maybe 2 times I was off to spend the forth thursday in November with my family......

THESE DAYS HAVE BECOME JUST ANOTHER DAY....... I am thankful for everyday i have on this side of the grass.... I give thanks everyday.......

this year, we had our gathering on November third with my side of the family, and this past weekend with Teresa's side of the family.... both days were great gathering days.... this past weekend we had about 50 people......

TO DAY IS TURKEY DAY FOR US...... Teresa and me had the day to ourselves....... we enjoyed each other, and basted a turkey together, to feed us for another week...... will have pot pies, sandwiches, dumplins, and other things...... and wil lbe thankful for every bite.....

why do we worry about why one person exalts one day over another? or if the exalts every day?

I have fun with life.... I do not, however, do a grave error as a friend of mine did, and ask when we can dig in and eat THE BIG BIRD, especially if there are children around that are preschool to 1st grade age........

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
