I know of a family that will not even go to pools or the beach because of the immodesty.

They don't want their daugters being oggled at and they don't want their sons exposed to it... :24:

edit: I'm sorry if I used the term home school...I didin't know I wasn't supposed to mention the word. If I had realized that people would get so bothered by someone mentioning a family was a home schooling family I would not have said such a thing.

Again, my apologies.

Well, we are a Christian home schooling family that does go to public pools. I am not sure what home schooling has to do with it though?

Shalom,

Nothing. It is a personal family choice.

One church we attended would not allow any "mixed swimming" and discouraged families from going to the public pool or beach for the reasons of modesty. It had nothing to do with homeschooling. A large Christian school, Bob Jones University has (or had) the same no mixed swimming rules. There are whole denominations that make that an issue. So again, it has nothing to do with homeschooling, but with purity and modesty.

I personally believe it is wise in some cases.

They have a website, www.titus2.com and their daughter set up one specifically for modesty... I do not find their daughter's website about modesty. It had the same sound as the OP in this thread. If you find it maybe you could post it.

AAH! I found it... www.preparingdaughters.com

Shalom,

Again, no, homeschooling has NOTHING to do with this. There are private Christian schools that require uniforms and do not allow mixed sports activities.

For the record, homeschoolers are not the only parents who "shelter" their children or who think highly of modest dress.

Will a woman with the mind of Christ in her, dress to the lusts of her flesh and the lusts of the flesh of men?

Will a man with the mind of Christ and from the mind of Christ commit adultery in his inward man and then from that blueprint turn his eyes to fulfill the lusts of his flesh?

The answer to both is: NO! The mind of Christ does not feed the lusts of the flesh. However, the natural, carnal and wicked mind in each of us DOES! So, the key is to not ask wandering questions as though our minds have the capacity to figure out how to be righteous. Here's a clue: You're wasting your time!

See the depravity of your natural mind, mine and ALL men. See it. See how bankrupt it is. See how that the best thoughts of your mind on the best day of your life are still filthy rags in the estimation of the Father. If this is true, then why run about as though your mind IS capable?

1Co 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

See the bankruptcy of your own mind and turn from it to seek the Spirit of God in you to change your mind to be as His. When the Lord Jesus through His Spirit in you births His mind in you, THEN live from HIS MIND! If you do, then you will NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Simple.

Php 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

To the level of the stature of Christ formed in you by His Spirit, WALK IN IT! A man walking in the mind of Christ (Spirit of Christ in him) does NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh. A woman with the mind of Christ will not fulfill her lusts, neither will a man.

Unfaithful husband? Cheating husband? Philandering husband? Wandering eye husband? Masterbating husband? Pornography addicted husband? QUIT YOU LIKE MEN! Seek the mind of Christ in you and live from His mind in you!

Ladies -- you have your own list. The answer is the same. Seek and go after the Spirit of God in you for the purpose of His mind birthed and born in you. Live from the mind He rebirths and renews in you and you will NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Need you more? What more words can be written to show you the truth? Refuse to your own peril -- OR -- choose to see your own mind AS IT IS and turn and seek the mind of the Lord IN YOU by His Spirit, His power, His will, to His good purpose and pleasure, not yours.

This is His mercy to us. This is the working of His grace.

I do NOT have the full measure of the mind of Christ in me; but His mind in me is growing. Neither do you. None of us who have the mind of Christ (Christians - Christ-like) have the full measure of the mind of Christ in us. THIS is what is intended. We NEED each other.

Where I lack, you have. Where you lack, another brother or sister has. Each of us has a supply of the mind of Christ for ourselves and for one another. Look at each other through the mind of Christ. Want to love one another? Walk in the mind of Christ and view each other through His mind in you.

If you view your brother or sister through you natural, carnal and wicked mind, which is enslaved to the lusts of your flesh, you will look upon your brother or sister for the purpose of fulfilling the lusts of your flesh, the pride of life and your sinful base desires only. There is no other option! In your mind dwells NO GOOD THING!

The mind of Christ birthed in you by His Spirit is from where righteous sight is to be found. Thus, a woman or a man walking in the mind of Christ who is mindful of their brothers and sisters, and of the people of the world, will not from the mind of Christ in them look upon, imagine or think evil towards them. The Love of God constrains. The Love of God by way of the mind of Christ born in them walks with the purity of God Himself birthed in us. There is no sin and no fulfilling of the lusts of the flesh.

So -- women -- answer me this: Is it possible for a woman to wear a revealing, immodest bikini in front of men based on the mind of Christ in her? Men -- is it possible for a man to look upon such a woman for the purpose of fulfilling the lusts of his flesh from the mind of Christ in him?

Answer those questions and you'll know your own answer from within!

Amen and amen. This is where it comes from! Good words. :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
