Its funny that David sought out God early in the morning. Thats when I seek him as well. Its how I have trained myself by starting my day with scripture and alone time. I have had to repent of trying to be good enough to enter into God's presence. Christ made it possible for me at anytime. I have to remind myself that I AM CLEAN and I can be with my creator because Jesus has made me spotless. Now I can get bathed in his love and it makes my soul feel better because of the intimacy I am allowed to have with my owner. My soul thirsts and my flesh longs but before I didn't know I could get these needs met by God himself. So I acted in sinful ways to meet them. They were evidence of how much I needed to drink from God. The itch is not the sin. Its how you scratch it. Romantic? I don't know. But I am in love with my creator. He revealed himself to me a while back and ever since I have wanted more and more of him. He is what I have craved for 44 years. Its as if I switched addictions but this addiction hasn't any shame attached to it. So I can get fed without guilt. Make any sence?

Dan

Makes perfect sense.

Dan, just the portion of the post which was your reply to my first one. I haven't been dodgng you, as when I first posted, I was on my way to bed and now it's the next day and I have been right through the thread again. So my reply to you is this>>>>

Actually Eric this book was bought at a Christian Book store, written by a Christian author and builds it message by using the Bible. You should read "Song of Songs" ITS IN THE BIBLE AND IT WAS WRITTEN BY GOD!. Much of the book I sited used "Song of Songs" You should also take the time to read the original post so you would even understand the context of the thread itself which was not about "cheap sex". Don't think that cutting people down and throwing condemnation around will elevate you and bring you one inch closer to God. IT WONT! You don't disgust me but your act here of being a self appointed bull horn for God coupled by your obvious complete ignorance of the subject being discussed here is irritating at best. But if you feel like your rightousness has been offended, by all means.....go to the moderators and get me banned from the board.

Have a nice day!

For a start I never said the thread was about cheap sex. It was not only your post I was upset about but, also some of the others, especially one who is an obstretician, who liked to inform us that God created Adan ans Eve for sex. Well they couldn't have multiplied if they had not.

Futhermore, instead of stating that "you people like you disgust me", I perhaps could have said the whole idea of talking about erotic love with the Lord, disgusts me. If you find yourself drawing closer to God from an agape type love with Him, thats a different side to love and the kind of love He desires of us.

Then you go on to say that I act as being a self appointed bull horn for God made obvious by complete ignorance of the subject and my righteousness has been offended. I believe that the whole bible is a love story, with the intent of our rconclliliation back to Him as it was before the fall, that the blood of His son would cleanse of our sinful fleshy lives,so that we can be co-workers riegning with Christ through the millenim, to restore the earth to a place He can bring His heanely throne back to rule on.

The only person that people are intitled to have an intimate relationship with, is their legally married spouse. I was once a sex addict, but the Lord has taken that hunger away, and for over twenty years and now, any mention of sex outside of marriage repulses me.

Sorry I lost my cool, mate, but it is a touchy subject with me.

I think my post have been misunderstood by Eric.

For a start I never said the thread was about cheap sex. It was not only your post I was upset about but, also some of the others, especially one who is an obstetrician, who liked to inform us that God created Adan ans Eve for sex

Well I am that obstetrician:

I had never advocated ""cheap sex"" either

I said that God created Eve because Adam was lonely, and that is written in the Bible for all to see.

Eve is Adam's wife, so when has intimacy in a marriage a sin?? Are husbands not exhorted to love their wife?? Or did Paul mean love yr wife in an platonic level?? Eric just read the post a bit more carefully! Who says God created woman for the purpose of procreation?? The Bible certainly didn't, read Genesis again!

I also maintain that our craving for love is a trait that we are created in the image of God who is the supreme embodiment of Love! The close relationship between the Son and the Father as seen when Jesus was on the cross!!

the want and need to be Loved were instilled in us by God. He placed everything in order. We are wooed by the Holy Spirit unto Our Father through Jesus. One can most definitely have a wonderful LOVE affair with God. Another thought comes to me, intimacy to me is NOT sex. If God did not give us what we have the Human race may have died out.

and by the way a Love affair with Jesus is no way like a Love affair as we see it in our minds, engagement, Marriage and Honeymoons with Jesus I consider manditory to Know Him, His mind , His heart. patricia1

Hi patricia1,

Greetings in the name of the Lord,

and by the way a Love affair with Jesus is no way like a Love affair as we see it in our minds, engagement, Marriage and Honeymoons with Jesus I consider manditory to Know Him, His mind , His heart. patricia1

I agree with you! I never said anything inappropriate either about the love affair with Jesus being an erotic one!

In my discussion with dgolvach, he mentioned that he loves his wife very much, And I say that is to be encouraged!! including physical intimacy with one's own wife!

I think God created everything and did a tremendously good job!

Gen 1:31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day

He only said very good after he created Eve! I agree with him and thank God for giving us a very good partner in Life. I love my wife to bits in fact and count it as very good blessing!

Again God created physical intimacy and there is nothing dirty about sex like Eric claimed. Pornography, sex outside marriage is not in God's will and is undesirable and may spread disease but is it is Men's doing perverting what God created good!

I still repeat it The Song of Songs is traditionally treated as an allegorical representation of the relationship of God and Israel as husband and wife.[3] According to Ashkenazi tradition, it is read on the Sabbath that falls during the intermediate days of Passover. In the Sephardi Jewish community it is recited every Friday night.

It is read reverently by the Jews every passover, and it is the most erotic love Song written by Solomon!

I think one of the reasons I have looked at the ideas being thrown out there with "Romance" theology is the fact that the greatest romantic love still is not enough for me. I am a needy guy. I have this huge void. My parents couldn't fill it. My wife gives me pleasure but she can't fill it either. Nor can my kids. Nor can any other people places or things. This void really hurts. I mean its very painful at times and I get upset because of it. I need deep deep love. And it isn't a desire to be worshipped. I really have to know I am deeply loved on order to feel normal. I see these types of love that we experience here on earth as a sort of teaser that pushes us towards the "great void filler". God. I want God to give me every ouce and type of love I can get from him. Sex is a physical exchange but believe me, there is certainly something far more profound and intimate that happens during this physical exchange. There is a spiritual exchange and I suspect this is why God put careful restrictions on it. I still believe that it (physical intimacy)is a small picture of the even deeper intimacy he desires with us and we desire for him weather we know it or not. Again, God is a spirit and it is not possible to have a physical exchange with a spirit but the deep personal intimate exchange is possible and is not pursued enough in todays Church in my opinion. It a very difficult subject to talk about because its easy to misunderstand as something merely fleshy. I have misunderstood it my self.

Romance is not Biblical, although there is nothing wrong with it in its context. Love of G-d and intimacy with Christ has nothing to do with feelings or emotions. According to Christ's own teaching, if we love Him, we will obey His commands. One of them is to love one an other as He has loved us. He demonstrated that love for us by dying for us, not by getting romantic or intimate with us. His love for us is conditioned by the Father's love for Him.

Romance and romantic feelings are fleeting at best, but a lot of Christians seem to want that in all their relationships these days, including the relationship with their Creator. Love says "I want to spend time with you, I want to get to know you, I want learn all about you, I want to make you happy." Romance says, "I want you to make me feel good." Love lasts forever, romance doesn't care about your name, all it cares about it a feeling for the moment. Where I come from, that's a one night stand. Many believers seem to be quite content with that with Christ, however.

:emot-highfive:

I dont know about Romance being a one night stand......

I am still romancing my wife.... this will be a FOREVER THING as far as we are concerned....

I do things for her that most men would cringe at doing for their wifes... and some cringe at it even when they dont have a wife and are by them selves...... all things are done out of love for her, not because they are required.... there are some things she can no longer do, such as laundry and more then a couple dishes at a time, and sweeping or cleaning... these things i do because I love her.... yeah, she can not and they need to be done, but they are done out of love.... flowers brought in are out of love.... date nights are out of love..... putting together her gift shop so she has something to do that she can spread the Word of God, is out of love for her..... and God.....

romance, most people do take it like what you have said.... as a one night stand..... but that is like most people mis-use the word LOVE as well.... they no longer have the true thoughts about what LOVE really is..... i feel for them...... cause they have no clue as to what they are missing.... it is sooooooo easy to love my wife, for Christ gave the perfect example..... so I serve her...... hand and foot, well, i sure dont rubb them too much, for even her palms are tickelish..... lol.... and rubbing her feet, well, i dont mind a bit..... she can actually stand it easier then her hands.......

Dan... I saw your post and I am perfectly sure fear is blocking you. I do not know why. I could be wrong but sometimes it is hard to recieve what we know not of and easier to do without and then are tormented with the desperation of the need. I will be praying for you sweetheart. Love makes one vulnerable and to read about it and not have that void totally satisfied is torment.

It is like a cloud promising rain and never giving it...in a desert.

It is like that rich man who thirsted and yet could not have that thirst quenched.

I will pray for you every day until you have a breakthrough. For Our Lord Jesus wants you to know the fullness of His Love and it is not Him keeping it back from you. I hope this is not too personal for you but it grieves me to know the place you are at....It makes me cry, it must be The Holy Spirit in me crying for you.... So God most definitely fulfill your need. patricia1

my second post, the first one got lost.

Dan... I read your post and know you are definitely being blocked by a number of things.

fear is one thing and it is not necessarily felt.

The fear of what is unknown to you, keeps you in this torment, yet knowing you want and need more of Gods Love and yet falling shy of it. It is a circle.

It is like a cloud in the desert promising rain that does not produce!

Like the rich man who was thirsty and could not have his thirst quenched!

What a horrific place to be at...I will pray every day until you have a tremendous breakthrough for I am grieved and actually am in tears. It is thr Holy Spirit who is grieved and not patricia here.

For God is a wonderful Father who will never hold back such a wonderful thing from you.

Love increases our vulnerability as well as fulfillment from Jesus. Fear of rejection is a stronghold for that is the major vulnerability factor.

Jesus has it all waiting for you. We will break the cycle and without a shadow of a doubt in layers it will happen.

It is a trick of the enemy to keep you in torment and frustration. In Jesus name you will have the Victory!!! AMEN!!! patricia1

New name... I did not think that of you and sorry if what I may have p0sted made you think so...Be Blessed in the Name of Jesus Amen! patricia1

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
