A fundamentalist is a christian that believes in the fundamentals of the Christian faith as defined in the New Testament. [based on the conservative protestant movement started in 1910, to oppose modernism.] Modernism was an attempt by liberals, to reconcile the teachings of Christianity with the findings of science, especially evolution.

A fundamentalist believes:

The inerrancy, infallibility and literal truth of the bible.

The virgin birth and complete deity of Jesus Christ.

The physical ressurection of Christ and all dead.

The atoning sacrifice for the sins of the World, by Jesus' death on the cross.

The second coming of Christ in bodilly form.

The way I look at it, the real believers are the fundamentalists.

If these are the fundamentals of the Christian faith, then this is what Christians are supposed to believe.

well then i can say i too am a fundamentalist as i belive in the bible and i also treat my neigbour as christ expects me to and that is with love and compassion i also pray with sevral diffrent people from diffrent denominations i do not ask if they are fundametalists i also know of sevral spirit filled cathlics and i am glad they see me as a brother and i am warmly greeted when i do pop in out of the blue and decide to worship and pray with these spirit filled cathlics

i do not put up a fence around me and have signs on the fence saying fundamentalists only welcome

i am though very grounded in gods word and my trust is in him i love feeding on gods word but i do not act the goat as i also like walking along side the babes in christ as i see the babes in christ have a lot to offer to us older folk if we alow them also to feed on gods word and drink from the water of life

Revelations 22 new spirit filled life bible

13 i am the Alfa and the omega the beginning and the end the first and the last

17 and the spirit and the bride say come and let him who hears say come

and let him who thirsts come who ever desires let him take the water of life freely

no use saying i am christian if we do not belive in all of gods word as this is just mocking what jesus did for us on the cross

god bless from your brother in the lord damien stipic

Since I know several nuns who worship God with me from time to time, I have no problem calling them family! Are they fundamentalists? I don't have any idea. Are they born again believers? Yep!

As for me, I suppose I am some sort of a fundamentalist. Call it the Messianic version. I make it a regular habit to jump fences though. So, go ahead, build a fence around that if you want.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Note the word "many".

Judgement Day will tell, and show who is saved and born again, and who is not.

So, if a person said to you that they did not believe in the deity of Christ, would you say they are not a believer?

To deny the deity of Christ means you are not a born again Christian.

How do you figure that? Are you God that you know the heart of man?

You have been presented on numerous occasions the fact that Jesus is God, but you refuse to believe the Bible. It has nothing to do with your heart. Christianity is predicated on the Deity of Jesus. You cannot call yourself a Christian or a believer in Jesus if you deny His Deity. You are calling Jesus and the Father liars.

I removed it because my answer only repated what had been already said.

Mutzrein, to your question inpost #14,

How do you figure that? Are you God that you know the heart of man?

Matt 10: 32-33. I'll let you read it Mutz, I don't like typing much.

It's all about confessing or denying the deity of Jesus.

cheers.

....I have found no where in the bible that says you MUST believe Jesus to be God to be saved.

I haven't found any such scripture either.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 10:32-33

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
