Just to clear up a little confusion, this is a class of high school seniors

Sounds like it was a good lesson to learn. Doesnt matter on your sexual orientation, whether or not you are safe from getting AIDS. There is so much going on out there, that I truly believe that abstinance should be taught as the most safest way to not get any of the sexually transmitted viruses/diseases. Abstinance from drug use included. What is wrong with encouraging abstinance?

Quite honestly...I think thats AWESOME!!!! Kids should know at the earliest possible age about the dangers of drugs, promiscuity, and homosexuality.

I can only hope their was at least one person who was designated as the Christian who had vowed to wait until marriage.

I'm sorry, I guess I kind of looked past the "main intent" and looked to the politics of the simulation.

It's actually a good idea becuase it does work in making it real to students about the dangers of it and just how "widespread" it can be. Yes, between homosexuals and heterosexuals alike.

I guess in my mind, I was looking at the politics that the program I'm in is founded on, based around, and set on, tolerance and acceptance, and as my teacher even hinted at/said outright, it shows that AIDS is not just for those who are homosexual. The only issue with this being that the real intent of this simulation was not only to show that, but to purposely dismiss that in order to continue to do away with a lot of "intolerance" towards homosexuality. I guess this is where I'm coming from at this, but it is a good idea for actually simulating the spread of AIDS.

It's very easy for homosexuals to spread AIDS, but in comparative terms, everyone is equally at risk without taking basic precautions. In my opinion, teaching safe sex in school is far more effective than teaching abstinence. Let's be realistic, young people are not going to abstain, so teaching them how to be safe is absolutely essential.
