Part of Jesus' teachings was to correct how God's law was to be interpreted. The Jewish leaders held the same viewpoint you so dearly hold that "THE WORD OF GOD IS NOT CHANGING". Problem is, they got of on the wrong track....

Jesus told them that the 'Sabbeth was made for man, and not man for the Sabbeth'...which means they were incorrectly teaching God's Law and Will....What I meant by the Bible as growing was really meant to say that by the study of the Bible we more completly understand what is God's Will and Law....

The root of the problem with gay and lesbian ministers,and women preaching in todays modern christianity,is that modernism,humanism,liberalism,ecuminism,has greatly infected the Church,especially here in the U.S. We need to get back to "thus saith the Lord"

you may not understand what the name of Shadow 2 b means........ so you jump to a conclussion rather then find out.....

you might even feel the name Beast Master is a bad one also, but if you might ask about it, you might find there is a good reason and a solid backing to the name some one uses.....

as far as God Word being Steadfast....... IT IS.... UNCHANGING......

God has never gone back on His Word once.....

should I change what I do so that what I am doing aligns with the Word of God???

should God change His Word to align with what I am doing????

well, that is a no brainer.... being that Gods Word is good yesterday ( long time ago also, ) today, and tomorrow ( even a long time from now, like in forever ) I would have to say that I need to change in order to align with Gods word, not God chaning things to align with me......

the entire book is still in effect this day..... it still works.... no doubt about it.....

The Jewish leaders only had the law to live by, they rejected Christ..... thus they rejected salvation and in doing so, left themselves bound to the Laws and to the penalty of the laws......

as a born again Christian, I am no longer bound to the law/penalty of the law, but follow them out of love cause that is what I want to do, I want to please my Master, my King.......

if you love some one you do what is pleasing to them.... if you love some one you want to do good things for them......

if you feel that you dont need to do good things for them, then maybe you just dont love them enough....

I want to do what God asks me to do.... and most of what He has asked me to do is found in the Bible.... old and new....

well, the Commandments..... all of them......

yes, we all slip, but that is the neat thing about God.... He is very patient.... some times it take quite a bit of work to repair a humans broken heart, but you know God can do it..... but we have to give Him all the pieces.......

do we let people continue to live in sin? or do we help them in their short areas?

do we tell each other not to mention what is wrong? and then let them slip off to hell and then when we stand before the judgment seat, and are asked why we allowed so and so to slip off into satans hands, what are we to tell the Lord??? that we loved them so much we didnt want them to go to heaven???? or that we didnt want to hurt their feelings??? that we had to remain politically correct cause we might end up in jail???? but to end up in jail for a season, to keep a brother or sister from buring in hell..... I would do that daily..... only problem is...... I can not do it for anyone...

why???? cause Jesus done did it for us all.... but we have to accept the Lord as our savior, we have to accept Jesus as our Lord.... we have to accept our Savior as our King...... then we can be free....

until we accept Jesus, then it is like being in jail and cause you are mad at your dad, you refuse to allow your dad to post bail.... well, guess what???? Our Father already not only posted bail, but got us aquited...... but we have to accept it or we still remain in bondage....

Well, here I go 'plainin myself again...

I know Gods Law is unchanging....God's Law is perfect as is God. But humans are not....and often people misinterpret what He says in the Bible. I don't intend to mean that Gos's Law is changing, that is not possible...but what I do intend to mean is that our understanding of His law has change.

Today, we, as students of the Bible, have the luxury of time passed that has enabled us to see and understand how many of the prophecies of the OT have been fulfilled. People, in the times of Jesus, did not obviously...therefore, through time, our understanding of the Bible and its meaning has changed as we see the fulfillment of God's Word....Our understanding of God's Word has changed through time.

Your examples of how certain people have distorted God's Word to fit their own thinking is correct....That is truely the devil influencing them....but some of the debates that we are having here, especially concerning the rapture timing, I don't believe fit into the same category. We can't see into each others heart or discern anothers purpose, but I have blind faith that those who believe one way or another on this issue are truely God's children and are speaking with love and respect for God's Law without trying to modify it for their own purpose...

And about my context, yeah I was a little peeved by some of the response and i said some things that were not the best way to say things,,,,but that is my problem. I told John, that this board has made me realize in the last few days a serious flaw in my own character, and whether you like it or not, God has provided you to be the catalyst for me to face one of my temptations. And that is pride. many people who argue often try to convince people that they are right either to reinforce their own belief or to have a certain amount of satisfaction in 'winning'. When it comes to Salvation, there is no winning but total acceptance to Jesus as our Savior. But I feel blessed now because, I know that I see one of my flaws, and I have asked for strength to overcome this within myself...that is why, I choose not to be combative, or to modify my debating techniques to be strictly one of humility and Love for those who I am talkin to....

So brother, you better just make sure you got both guns loaded for bear cuz I'll be there hopefully right at your side with the Love of Jesus in our hearts and the ticket on that there boat your talkin about.....

From hearing you in some other forums I must admit I got the wrong impression, I apologize for my own thoughts. I thought you were just a smarty pants. Forgive me? Beautiful post Brother.

Is there anyone actually putting forth a case that Homosexuals should be allowed to be pastors or priests here? We have a local Catholic Priest in Syracuse that has just come "Out of the Closet" and I'm very nervous for the Church, I hope they stand up for God's word. I'm afraid to think about the possibility of the Catholics who have stood against this so staunchly in the past giving in and saying it's just fine.
