Hazel, you a a child of God no doubt about it. Please don't let the actions of some"christians" turn you from God's path for you. Sometimes before we really start to mature we have to hit the bottom of the well where the only way out is up. You seem to have the view that christians are perfect. Well as much as some think they are we are not. We stumble and fall down usually many times when we are learning to walk with Jesus.

Maybe the youth group isn't where you need to be. Perhaps the older young adults would suit you better. Teens today are faced with many temptations and many do not know how to handle them. They want to be cool. I get the feeling that being cool is not what you want and that you really want to do the right thing.

Faith is a very giant part of being a christian. It takes a lot of faith to know that what you cannot see or hear or touch etc really exists. As a christian we walk by faith not by sight. The world is full of different people and as you have found out not many know God.

As to you falling away. Well when you dedicated yourself to Christ you were telling God you would follow Him. Don't stop following Him because of what you see others doing. If you are still not sure if your conversion "took" I suggest you get on your knees and have a really heart to heart talk with our Father. He is always there ready to strengthen us in times of distress and you seem to be going through one of those times.

Doubt is a powerful tool the devil uses to sway us from God's path. Rebuke satan and turn to God asking for protetion and that satan begone. That is not to say you will not be tempted in your life. satan is sneaky and conniving and you must be on your guard. satan has but a short time and he know it and it really makes him mad.

My advice is payer whenyou feel doubtful, prayer when you need comforting, prayer when you are thankful. Find a church or youth group that follows christianity closer and join. But remember its not by our works that we are saved. Singing in the choir, being in plays are all well and good but what counts is what is in your heart.

Hope this helps. I will be keeping you in prayer. :dove

 what more can be added?...

This is a bothersome topic for me. My brother was "saved" and "baptized" and now "knows for sure he isn't saved". I have seen people, myself even, get "saved again, for real this time".

When I was 18 I was leading about 6-8 teens (about my age), all of which, the day I went off to Bible college, all "left the faith". Then the same thing in college, 4 young girls were "saved" while I was leading the youth group at a small church. I was unable to continue this ministry, because I had to work to pay for college, and time was literally gone. These girls quit going to church, and I have no idea what happened to them.

I myself was officially "saved" at 12, but even I at age 15 had a point of "re-commitment" which sent me on this past say 4 year journey of leading youth, and going to Bible college. At, age 15 I myself even said that I was not truly saved at 12.

I think of all the things that worries me is the search for a feeling or a sign. Feelings are untrustworthy. One day we are up, and another we are down. I see this as the pattern and maybe even the heart of the reason for disbelief.

When people "get saved" they do it, often, in an emotionally High experience. Generally they are swayed by a song, or a good message, or just the circumstance they are in. Tears may fall, and a change in life may occur. But when the hard times come, when the heat begins to burn the joy, when the work isn't so fun, and the "high" isn't there anymore, we begin to wonder what we got ourselves into.

I am convinced, that what the apostles, and the early church had, even the reformers and those who bled and died for the cause, had more than an emotional experience. It was something of a commitment, something they knew beyond a shadow of a doubt.

These people who wore holes in the wood on the floor, who spent 5 hours a day in prayer, these people had more than just a feeling or emotional experience. It was a commitment, one that I have yet to see in my own life. Such a dependance on the Holy One, such a trust.

I may have said a lot, or nothing, I do not know which, but if nothing else I will pray for you, because this is not a search that you are alone in, that I am sure, for I myself search daily to be sure of that which I have come to believe.

May God Bless you

Heartsick,

Yes you are! You Long to know Jesus. I mean really know Him.

Let me show you a picture of Him. One that will cause you to be Passionate. See there is Physical Zeal then there is Spiritual Zeal. The second is a Zeal that comes not from our own flesh but from a Love a Christ. One that says it is not a bother to Love anyone else because I love Christ. It is what I'm glad to do. It is not a bother to love Christ for I am so very Grateful!

This is a picture of you and Christ;

Here is you;

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
