Just be there when he decides he wants to deal with it, and pray.....pray.....pray.

One never knows when God will make the doctors look foolish with their prognosis. I have an aunt that was told that, and she lived for over 25 years and died in her 70's.

Amen to Other Ones response.

also we should recognize that we are all under a death sentence. If the rapture does not occur in our lifetime then it is inevitable. You don't have to be old to die, and you don't always get a warning. That is why it is so important to settle the eternal issues now, while there is a chance to do so.

From Romans 5:

1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[1] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[2] rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we[3] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. 6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

Know that you can come out of all of this stronger and of great character. Just start trusting God. He has plans for you.

God will give you the strength and hope you so desperately need. Just ask Him.

From Matthew 7

7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Strength and hope are good things and God wants you to ask Him for them and God will give them to you. You and I are both sinners, but we still have to try to do our best. Can you try to do better? God will reward you when he sees your efforts. He is probably already very pleased that you are seeking advice from Christians.

A lot can happen in 5 years. And remember, with God, you will come out of all of this stronger and better. The devil knows this too. So go and do the opposite of what he wants you to do. He wants to keep you in a state of depression, desperation and hopelessness. There are things you can do. It's written out very clearly and it is a formula that works. Just remember, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".

I would suggest you write these verses down and memorize them. Keep your mind busy by thinking on all that God has for you in the future.

What's a "bad" Christian? If you're saved, you're saved. Some people let the Lord do more work through them than others do, and some people live more modest lives, but if you are a Christian, how can that be bad? You're a child of the King, on your way to Heaven, precious enough to God that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to suffer and die for you. That's GOOD, not bad. :t2:

I would give your dad some time to get a grip on the situation. He probably doesn't want to face it just yet, especially if he's not saved. Try to be there for him, and try to let him know about the Gospel. Just let the Holy Spirit guide you there, about what to do and say. Like has already been said, God will give you strength and comfort, just ask Him. And, pray for your dad, and mom, and the whole situation, every time you can.

Amen!

The devil will play with your mind telling you how bad you are, but rejoice, you are saved!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
