Forgiveness is the ultimate act of love. It is a gift you give someone that doesn't deserve it. You are promising that I will never bring it up unless you want to discuss it. I will not use this as leverage against you at a future time. I will suppress any negative feeling I have against you. I will do everything in my power to restore the relationship as far as my efforts are concerned to the status it once was. I will pray for you and not agianst you. I will not damage your reputation with repeating this event to other parties. It is my goft to you, because I have been given the same gift.

I'm curious though, does the gift apply, if you didn't ask for it? I mean, do the concepts remain the same? Jesus offers forgiveness for ALL, but not all want it. Is it the same with us? What if someone doesn't want it? Something to consider.

Think about Joseph. If you notice in the story, when he reached the status that he did, he could have sent for his family at any time! He didn't, in fact, he purposely put them out of his mind for a time. But, he was prepared to forgive, when the time came.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I guess that would be on them...I don't imagine that our forgiveness toward them would be null and void in the eyes of God just because the other party isn't willing to accept the forgiveness or doesn't want to be forgiven.

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do"...Forgiveness is your responsibility, if they don't receive it, its their issue

I know from experience that it's not easy at all to forgive, but if you really rely on the Holy Spirit to see you through, eventually the forgiveness comes. I didn't know how to forgive, but I asked my father to help me, for I don't want to forgive, but I trust that He will help me to want to. Faithfull as He is, He really helped me up to a stage where I could say, Father help me to forgive and forget. With sincere forgiveness, I think you can forget the pain, not the action. But you don't keep the action against that person anymore.

I've learned that to forgive sets me free. And unfortunately, Satan comes to me time and again to bring up the past, but I tell him straight that I forgave an it can't hurt me anymore, for I've put it at the Throne of grace.

God is so extremely faithful if we ask Him to help us, as I said even if you feel you don't want to, but need to.

Love

Grace

I would add it frees you, but it also frees them to receive ministry from you

Unfortunately, some of the people I had to forgive passed away before I could do that, but I still forgave them, because I need to be set free. Others, well, they didn't want to accept it, but I gave that over in God's Hands.

Forgiveness is the most basic concept of Christianity, but we seem to have the most shallow understanding of what it really is. Somewhere down the road someone began to confuse forgiveness with forgetting. In fact, the biggest stumbling block to forgiveness in relationships is people waiting for the pain of offense to subside before they forgive someone else. People bringing up the past in later conflicts proving they never forgave it, but they say I can never forget it, but you told them you forgave it. So what is the connection between forgiveing and forgetting. Is forgiveness amnesia or the discipline to never use it against someone?

God didn't forgot the disobidiance (*is that correct?) of the people of Moses. Actualy, he made them walk for 40 years in a desert.

Jesus had forgiven Peter (apostel) already when he saw Peter after His death and resurrection ask at the lakeside, where He did remembered Peter about something (three time denial)

Just two things that came to my mind when reading this...

When the due parties are duely contrite, it can so satisfy the offence that there may be no recollection of the offence. When this happens it is most pleasant, with a genuine experience to the offence forgotten, overtaken by the 'joy' of reconciliation.

Lets not forget that God's forgiveness is perfect, and when he says he "remembers not" he does not. And when he judges a nation it's perfect judgement and his punishment is exactly what was needed to draw those he loves back to himself.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
