Christianity is the only religion that teaches to love your enemies. No other religion teaches that.

Some think differently.

"The prescription to love your enemy and to requite evil with good

is sometimes thought of as an impractical and perfectionist ethic, able to

be practiced only by a few exceptional souls. But, in fact, this doctrine

is widely taught in all religions as a fundamental principle for pursuing

relationships with others."

Our God still lives! How about the greek gods? Our God makes Himself known? How about the greek gods? Our God gave His life so that we may live. How about the greek gods?

Christianity differs from all other religions in three areas.

The first area is the love, humility and faithfulness of God. Christianity teaches that God loves us so greatly, that although we were unfaithful to Him and betrayed Him He humbled Himself and took a human form and sacrificed His life to save us from eternal death and bring us forgiveness of our sins (John 3:16).

The second area is the about Christian life. As Christians we have to love others the way God loves us (John 15:12). We have to love our enemies, do good deeds for them and pray for them; if someone takes our coat, give them our shirt as well; offer the other cheek if someone slaps us on one; lend and do not expect it back; and be merciful like our heavenly Father (Luke6:27-36). Furthermore, we have to forgive our enemies unceasingly (Luke 17:4); not pay evil with evil, never take revenge; feed our enemy; not allow evil to defeat us; and over come evil with good (Romans 12: 17-21). Furthermore, legal dispute is incompatible with Christianity; and it is better for us to be wronged or robbed than to wrong others or rob them (1 Cor. 6:7).

Third area is about marriage. We are to love our spouse the same way as Christ loves His Church (Ephesians 5:25). Christ never abandons His Church. We, therefore, can never divorce our spouse. Furthermore, when we marry, we and our spouse become one. It is therefore, a one to one relationship. Remarriage after divorce, therefore, is adultery; and a person can have only one spouse (Mk 10:11-12, Luke 6:18; Matthew 5: 31-32).

Are there any other areas?

There are many other areas.

First of all biblical Christianity is not a religion at all.

We believe that Jesus lives in our hearts in the Person of the Holy Spirit. We are the only people who are genuinely hooked up with the Creator of the Universe.

Many people mistakenly believe that Christianity is the only way to God. This is wrong. Jesus is the only way to God. You can join the Christian "religion" but that will not get you to heaven. Many people mistakenly believe that simply assenting to the Christian teachings and precepts is what makes them a Christian.

What makes us different is that we have eternal life. Eternal life is not heaven and it really is not even a length of time. Eternal life is Jesus Himself. Allah does not live in the heart of a Muslim. Buddha does not live in the heart of a Buddhist. We have Almighty God taking up residence within our hearts.

Religion is always looking for more enlightenment, and on a never ending search for the truth, but the Bible teaches us that truth is not hiding in dark corners. The Bible equates truth with light and it equates with truth with God's love. What I mean is that the Bible teaches us that you don't have to go on some spiritual quest to find true entlightment.

You don't have to go looking for truth; Truth came looking for you.

Our Bible is Divinely inspired. In fact, the Bible is so offensive to human nature, that turns out to be one of the best evidences of its Divine origin. The Bible is so offensive and irrational to human nature, that man left to his own devices would never have written the Bible.

No argument from me. I was only responding to a statement not advocating a belief.

I personally believe that Jesus Christ, Son of God, became a resurrected living sacrifice by which, if I believe and obey his commandments to love, I will be forgiven for all the times I have not done so and will live with him in everlasting glory.

The ancient Greeks believed in all sorts of things, including that their Gods were alive, but I believe in Jesus Christ.

Great post, Shiloh.

May the mind of Christ my Saviour live in me from day to day.

Christianity has a savior. More important than all other differences.

I know, Stan. My response wasn't personal to you either. Sorry if I gave you that impression.

Hi Rick!

No, I didn't take it that way, nor would I. We both love the Lord Jesus Christ and search always for truth. That binds us together beyond any need to be offended.

But thank you for being so considerate. The love of God shines through the thoughts of those who are in Christ, as you are..

Much appreciated.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
