Is There One True Religion?

As a reletive Newbie this question may of been raised many times before, so one more time won't hurt I'm sure. Religion is in 82% of people questioned, according to one recent poll, the cause of many if not all the conflicts we see around us. If that is true where does that put religion? If there is one true religion, how can you tell? All the denominations that there are can't all be right can they? All Christian faiths are slightly different from each other, they don't all agree on matters of doctrine, interpretation of Scripture and so on.

If you believe that your faith is the right one, prove it. Show how it is the one true faith against this checklist.

It is free from superstitions.

It believes the Bible is the word of God, in it's entirety.

That all doctrine is directly from the Bible.

That love drives the faith.

That they copy the example set by the Master.

He was politically neutral, is your faith so?

What is "Armaggeddon" to your faith?

If you can answer the questions with Scripture and reasoning, in what other ways could you prove your faith is the right one. Example: the Creator, does it have a name? Is it interested in us? Does it keep it's promises, as no-one has heard it speak for a long time? What does it say about the future? Where is our future, on earth or heaven?

Don't necessarily try to answer it all in one go. A little at a time will be fine.

OneLight has answered your many questions in one go, Woden, because the answer is so simple. Attempts to complicate the commandments of Jesus Christ are the cause and not the solution of division within the church.

We have no need to 'prove' anything, if we are in Christ Jesus, just obey. That is the simplest thing on earth to do and the hardest to understand.

There is not one true religion. There is One true God

Ther is only relationship with That one true God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

How you practice this tells one if you are in a cultic setting and following false doctrine.

Doctrine is measured against the word of God.

I might add that you religion isn't what God is looking for. I brush my teeth religously, but I don't worship my toothbrush. Also, many religions are not Christian. First and foremost, remember who Jesus Christ is. He is God. He is the Messiah. The only way to Heaven.

Knowing what the Bible teaches is the only way to avoid attending a church that teaches false doctrine. As long as a church or denomination does not teach heresey then it is OK.

I am a follower of Christ, a Christian, and Christianity is not a religion. Is this some kind of survey???

The controversy started even before Jesus was crucified! If false doctrine is being preached, run. If Biblical truth is being preached, then it's OK.
