Scientific Athiest,

You SOUND like a very intelligent person, but if you are an athiest, you can't be that intelligent. Find a bible and read what the word of God calls a person who says there is no God, it's in Psalms chapter 14 verse 1 in the old testament, and I promise you,it won't hurt you. When Darwin was on his death bed,he was quoted as saying, "what a fool I've been". He admitted he was wrong about evolution. My pastor used to be a scientist, and he has said that carbon-14 dating was not reliable. He said that any HONEST scientist would say that evolution is impossible and DNA proves it. There is a God who made EVERYTHING,and EVERYBODY,and one day you along with everybody else are going to face him. I only hope that you don't realize the foolishness of evolution when it's too late. I think it takes more faith to believe that we and everything in the universe just happened in a series of accidents over so called billions of years, than to believe a creator God made it all. When you go out side and look at a dog or cat or a bunch of pretty flowers,or a beautiful landscape, it doesn't take some great brain to realize that it's no accident. You may think that you have the answers, well, God is past finding out,and his ways are higher than are ways, and only He has the answers. You don't really think that you came from an ape do you, or an amoeba, or from some mud do you? One more thing, evolution is NOT a science,it is just another false religion, concocted of the devil. You need prayed for.

Rather than rely on your pastor Salt why not learn a bit about it on your own? The THEORY of evolution is based on scientific obersvations based on hard science. They are theories and the evidence is pretty solid albieit not perfect. It is not a religion and it doesn't even come close to meeting the criteria of a religion. I must admit if everything that people claim on this board comes from the devil did, we'd be in , well you know. :D

This is all mans made up words, and there is no truth in it. God created this universe, and He did it in six days. There is no solid evidence for evolution except in the minds of men who refuse to take God's Word for how He did it.

Salt you hang in there, I would much rather listen to a man of God speaking from The Bible than those who insist on carrying on the lie as confessed to by the man who started it.

Yod,

You can't deny the use of the 24 hour period known as a day, so you haven't, no the sun was not created at first, only light was, however the days after the sun were made were referred to in the same way as the days prior to. Those days were no different. Hebrew has words for long periods of Time, why not use them. I'll post those same things until they're answered. I see a problem with an old earth, because the Word says it's new. No I don't think you're a heretic, I think you're my Brother, PRAISE GOD!!.

For the atheists on this thread...I have some questions for you.

If you can tell me where consciousness...the ability the think comes from and how it evolved i will join you and become an atheist. :D

If I believed what you believed... i would have no future...no hope...no answers to why, am i here...a life without meaning in but a speck of time. :t2:

So tell me what meaning has your life ...70 or so years... after billions of years of evolution (as you say)...coming from behind you and still in front of you.

The evidence for creation is there if you choose to look for it. I believe in the Biblical account of creation and a new earth...I get this understanding from "Answers in Genesis" ...a group of Christian scientists dedicated to uphold the Biblical account of creation.

I believe in a Creator who has a personnal interest in my life and watches all that I do and has great care for my wellbeing. He loves me and I love Him. I have hope for the future...lots of answers...know why i am here...and have a life full of meaning ...not just now, but for eternity....should i exchange this for your beliefs. :x:

God forbid

Blessings

Mscoville, hopefully you will allow me to answer...

At the time of the writing of this part of the Bible there were about 3000 words in the Hebrew language with only three verb tenses...Yod probably can explain them better than I can...

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth...

This is a translation that is slightly off as the Hebrew word is shamayim erets...or more precisely the physical universe...sort of like translating butterfly to be butter and fly.

This then from a scientific point of view would give us the infinite mass points required for a joining of religion and science...the two do not have to be opposed.

When we get to the part about God having made light, because of the verb tenses we have no idea if he made them 5 minutes ago or 5 million years ago according to the word yom.

We don't get a sun or moon...which were always there but not visible due to a heavy atmosphere and the dust cloud of debris between the sun and the newly formed planets...until later.

Also the separation of the waters above and the waters below coupled with the newly shining light on the surface of the planet is required for plant life.

As for the evolutional evidence most of the fossil records display non-vertebrates before a certain time period and then during the Cambrian explosion we get the sudden and dramatic appearance of dozens of phyla types with no transitional fossil evidence as to how they developed.

Sorry, have to run the second part of my screen name is demanding the last part. :D

Look forward to further talks.

God Bless.

Kevin

I'd like to point out again that Genesis makes no reference to when the land masses (i.e. mountains, canyons) were created.

You'd think that would be an important part to a Creation story, wouldn't you?

"Now the Earth was formless and void, darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."

This occurs before God said, "Let there be light."

Can you explain that without manipulating the text to fit your belief?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
