Hi everyone,

I am getting married. Date not set yet.

I am marrying someone who is a different race from me . He is a Christian. Has anyone got any advice about interracial marriages.

Natt

Congratulations!

The only advice I can give is to keep your eyes on God. He doesn't see race.

May His many blessings be upon you and your marriage.

Once again, I'm not offended by your words. I just pointed out my observation on your words. Maybe your nerve was the one that was touched since you seem to need to repeat that phrase.. Anyway, I just agree to disagree with the tenor of your "tone." I doubt that you helped yesult at all, and that's too bad. I'm done with this discourse with you. Be blessed.

I'll concede to that. My words and my tone are usualy "confrontational". It's never my intention, but apparently that's my personality. Many people have a problem not so much with what I say but how I say them and sometimes the words I choose. I don't tend to sugar coat things and I don't beat around the bush. I'm often straight to the point and cut to the chase, (so to speak) and attack the subject head on and with full force. Maybe my emotions get invovled, I don't know.

Perhaps I should let people on this forum get to know me a little better before I make statements such as the one on this topic. You're right in this aspect, I may not have helped the situation. My presentation did seem more like a bulldozer rather than a dove, so I appologize for that.

You're also correct that this subject did hit a nerve with me. It's a subject that I think is sad. It always amazes me that it's even a concern and I get very frustrated that people still have to deal with this issue.

Blessings to you.

Racism is a taught thinking prosses and many folks were taught racism from childhood. It took time to make them racist and it will take time for them to change that way of thinking.

One thing I know for sure is : if you have never experienced racism, one has a warped sense of what racism is.

One may think they are NOT racist because they talk to know Black/Hispanic/Asian/Germanic etc people.

They think that classifies them as a lover of all races. Not so.

It goes further than that.

Racism is a direct tool of division from satan himself.

It's as raw as that.

I have seen racism in full swing with some Christians. It's poisonous.

A Christian has no place in being selective with their "love". It's all or nothing.

It doesn't sit well with some Christians but that is what racism is in all it's ugliness.

EG: "I won't sit next to a black person in Church but I will open my arms to that same black person in Heaven.." - Sorry, but it doesn't work like that.

Is that so?

You are referring to MY post aren't you?

It's simply blatant truth.

Why oh why do we keep throwing handgrenades into our own trenches. Think about it. If we are all led by scripture (as we should be), the arguments that come up here should not even exist. We should all be in the same trench!

This racial thing is in no way, shape or form scriptural. It should not be an issue! Think about this. Do you think Jesus (God walking amongst us), was a white caucasian male? Ha! The early church (1400 -1600 Ad) would have liked it's followers to believe so for reasons I don't want to go into here. Look at any painting ever done (well 99% of them anyway), of the crucifixion, or of angels and cherubs and what do you see?

My point is, as the words of the song go "turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of the world will go strangley dim, in the light of His glory and grace".

And if the "things of the world go strangely dim", a lot of "things" that we percieve, in our sometimes narrow worldly perspective will vanish. Race, color and geographical location included.

And so it should be.

Blessings to every one of you, Black, White, Brown, Yellow, suntanned, not tanned, and if you so choose, Green , Blue or Purple (although that would be a bit funny, I must admit :noidea: ). Jesus loves you, Jesus loves me, and thats enough.

Yep, racism is racism...no matter how it is spun. We should not attempt to cover it under anything, especially the gospel. Saints, the only way for racism to be dealt with is by the Cross. Parker1, I do believe you may be going through such an experience. Prayerfully, you willingly submit to the work of God in this area...(concerning the marriage).

love you brother.

If you read a prior post of mine, I did submit myself to Christ concerning my resistance to my daughter marrying who she has chosen. The Holy Spirit revealed that my feelings were purely selfish on my part and really had nothing to do with her boyfriend. I reject anyone labeling me a racist (not that you have). If someone wants to place that label upon me, I no longer care because I know that I'm not, nor was I raised to be one.

Moving away from me....racism is rampant throughout our society, just look at J. Wright, or L. Farrakhan. It is not just whites who hold resentments and hatred towards other races. But this topic is about interracial marriage, which we have moved very far away from. To the OP, marry whomever you choose; Christian if possible.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
