And I say to you to John, it is the same GOD!

Its the same God that blessed Ishmael in Genesis 17:20. That is the same God I pray too...you too?....

now, brothers in Christ, let me turn my cheek so you may hit the other side....

Dear Senerhu,

I have no desire to hit you again.

But realize this,

The God of the Bible has nothing to do with Muslims. They have their own religion, their own God. Nothing to do with the Bible or Ishmael or anything therein.

Muslims have NO CONNECTION to the Bible. Islam is a FALSE RELIGION founded in or around the 5th century.

As great a brother as you are, If you believe this Islam garbage, you deserved those pies.

Hey though, doesn't mean I don't love yee!

You just need a whole lot of correction on this particular issue.

Sorry I came in late, but this is in response to the second post in the thread:

It's extremely invasive and part of their "indoctrination" attempts to mindwash people into becoming disciples of their vile religion.

First off, how can you say their religion is vile? All religions are essentially the same, they all basically say that if you lead a good life you will be rewarded in the afterlife. What makes one more vile than another?

Second, isn't that that exactly what missionaries try to do? Brainwash other people into believing their religion?

All religions are the same...it's basically guilt with different holidays. - Fran Drescher

I have heard that many times and I understand how someone could come to that conclusion looking at it from the outside.

But there is ONE huge difference! Biblical judaism (christianity) teaches that we are all sinners and not even one person is righteous enough to enter God's presence. How is this reconciled?

By the Lord Himself paying the price for our sin. By His grace covering our filthy rags. All other religions make it our responsibility to obey a set of rules and regulations. Admittedly, there are christians out there who still think that also....

But that is not what the Bible teaches. Have you ever tried reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John?

I'd be happy to send a Bible so you can go right to the source instead of having to judge who has the right "opinion"

RE: missionaries.

I have been on short term missions a few times. We went to serve. No brainwashing at all.

In Romania, we had 3 doctors and 18 nurses who saw over 600 patients in 7 days. We didn't require anything of them...but we would pray with them and give them a bible in their language.

In Mexico, we built a church with our own funds and labor.

In Dallas....we sang praises to the Lord in front of the bars. No one was stopped by us...they gathered around and we spoke only to those who asked questions.

Islam will chop off your head if you don't convert in most nations where they run things. Can you see a difference yet?

There are small differences (and I consider this a minor difference). In essence, all religions (or most) promise eternal happiness in the after life in exchange for whichever deeds that particular religion dictates you must do while on earth. I don't understand how one is worse than the other.

Technically those muslims described in the opening post aren't brainwashing anyone, either.

Islam will chop off your head if you don't convert in most nations where they run things. Can you see a difference yet?

There's a few things to say here:

1. No where in the Islamic religion does it force people to adhere to their beliefs via the use of threat. Those who do so are following a perverted version of the religion. Or are you saying that fanatics like Osama bin Laden represent Islam?

What you said right would be like equating nuclear expansion with Marxist Communism. Marx never said anything about nuclear weapons (they weren't even invented during his lifetime), and yet, nuclear expansion became one of the founding principles of Stalinist Communism. Stalinism was a perversion of Marxism, and because of that you can't what some of his followers did after the fact to what his ideology stood for.

The same thing applies for Islam.

2. You don't think Christians have ever forced others to adhere by their beliefs? Do the Crusades ring a bell?

Does that make Christianity evil?

THe only short list would be the nations were it WAS NOT forced upon the population.

Even the Crusades were a response to Islamic invasion of Europe. Did they go too far? Yes but I don't hear many christians justifying their atrocities in the name of God.

how many Imams have you heard speaking against the oppressive regimes of Islam? Which Islamic regimes are not oppressive dictatorships?

Make a list and compare the two.

Again, oppressive regimes following a perverted version of the actual religion are not equal to the actual religion.

How often in history do you think Christian nations (mostly in Europe) forced its members submit to Christianity?

Heck, perhaps the greatest mind in the history of the world, Galileo, was placed under house arrest for the rest of his life simply because he supported Copernicus' heliocentric view of the universe.

Yes but I don't hear many christians justifying their atrocities in the name of God.

I don't hear too many Muslims praising OBL for 9/11 here in the States.

The only supporters of OBL I know are in the middle east, and most of them are only following him because they fear for their lives and are afraid that if they went against the flow, that they would be killed.

Is this not the same God we worship who said this?

Genesis 17

20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

Please clue me in, I didn't realize there was another?

Senerhu,

I think you will find that those people you are referring to are Bedouins, Samaritans, some Arabians, etc. And you are correct that they worshiped the same God as did the Jews. But they were not Muslim. Islam was invented hundreds and hundreds of years later with a new god called Allah. He originated from the pagan moon god. Thus the crescent moon on the mosques.

Compare the attributes of Allah to the one true God. You will quickly see they are distinctly different.

Lastly, don't fret about the pie. I get 'em from time to time myself and usually from good buds or budettes. It's nothing to take seriously. It's well, like disagreeing with you in a fun manner :t2:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
