Biblical times vs. Science

I am full of questions today...

What do you do when you see some scientific evidence that makes you doubt or makes you have a doubtful thoughts towards the written word in the Bible?

For instance, I watch that show Cities of the Underworld and last week they showed the Vikings and Ireland. They found a place that was scientifically (carbon dated) proven to be from 3500BC. How is that possible? I believe with all my heart in the Bible and it's words, but when scientific theories are thrown out there, I think...hey how is that possible? When were Adam and Eve on Earth?

Another for instance...dinosaurs. Were they extinct because of the great flood in Noah's time or what???

I want some logical answers here! Are there any?

This tells me that time is meaningless to God and really had no importance until one day man had to get up for work.

I saw a photo once of dinosaur tracks......and right behind it were human footprints. Can't remember where I saw it, it was many years ago.

Obviously, something caused the exinction of the dinosaurs to happen rather suddenly. There is no evidence that there were humans on the earth at this time. The Bible contains stories of the Pharoahs of Egypt (about 5000+ years ago, 3000 years before the birth of Christ.) We know that ancient people were living in Europe over 5000 years ago from artifacts and cave drawings that have been found there; along with the intact, frozen body of an ancient man found in the Swiss Alps a few years ago. He was found to have lived over 5000 years ago as well. I don't understand what the confusion is about something that has been carbon dated to 5500 years ago or how that data would conflict with the Bible.

The people who were the Bible's original audience were not Scientists, as we would think of a "scientist" today. As such, the Bible was not written from a Scientific point of view, and I don't think it should be read as a science text book.

My confusion comes from the fact that I didn't realize how old the earth was or that Adam and Eve were on earth for thousands of years prior to Jesus.
