Here is a question. In scripture are there examples of non-believers being used by the Holy Spirit to show some of these things?

Luke 17

11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.

13 And they lifted up their voices and said,

A cursory look at Christian history will show that tongues and prophecy did cease between 100-200 AD. The scriptures teach us that in the End Times there will be a pouring out of the gifts of the spirit. SO the question becomes two-fold. Is the pentacostal movement (that began in 1875-1900) a legitimate return of those gifts? If so...are the End Times covering a period 130+ years?

I personally DON'T KNOW. However, I still in my life have not seen a need for those gifts (or several others) to re-emerge. I tend to believe that the pentacostal movement was not of God, based on the history of its origins, and therefore is not a legitimate return of those gifts. I choose not to judge those who need these types of signs and wonders in their lives as I believe that God can use it to His glory....however, I do not believe in them, nor does my spiritual life require them.

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:

but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The End Times?

Is It Possible That The End Times Started The Day Our Lord Ascended To The Throne?

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:6-11

Or On That Day Of Pentecost?

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

Should We Look Up Today?

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:10-13

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

I have a hard time believing that we are living in the "End Times" right now...lol. Let alone that we've been left in some kind of holding cycle for say 2000+ years. Besides...if the end times truly began at either of those times then why did tongues cease to exist for nearly 1900 yrs? If the day of Pentecost was truly an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in connection to the "end times" then they wouldn't have disappeared for the majority of that timeframe. The question really needs to be narrowed down to the last 125yrs. because thats when these "gifts" became commonplace again. Again, these may truly be the end times, and we may be experiencing an outpouring of those gifts in association with the last days. I personally am not certain that is the case.

The 'end times' are somewhere in between Jesus ascending and returning...you and I are somewhere in between this time period. :emot-fail:

That's a real good question OneLight, as I would like to know also. I for one would be very careful saying something is not of God without concrete proof that it does not line up with the Word of God. And for one to say they don't need them it's very easy if they never truly expeirenced it. For those of us who do believe in it and God uses these gifts in our lives we know how they work in our spirit to build up our faith and relationship with God. And yes there are those who would abuse these gifts and are charltans that is why the GIFT of Desernment is one of the most important gifts a christian can posses. Axxman, have you ever expeirenced in your life, that a person or sitiuation just wasn't right somehow, you didn't have proof but just a gut feeling it was not as it should be, and then later on found out you were right? That's discerment.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
