there are leagle ramifications of keeping parts to supply for those trucks that were on lease. Most likely Ford did not want to spend the money to make srure the things could be kept running. This is an extreamly expensive thing to do.

They have not canceled the electric vehicles, they just didn't want to keep up this lease program.

The US postal service just purchased a fleet of some kind of electric driven vehicle, as this comes out we'll learn more about them.

EXCELLENT point.

It all comes down to cost...simple economics. Companies are in business to make profit and must pass along ALL costs to the consumer, which includes Cost to Manufacture, Research & Development, Sales & Advertising, Administrative, Distribution, Transportation, Royalty Fees, and on and on and on. It is VERY expensive to make 26 of something and maintain a supply of replacement parts than to make 2,000,000 of the same thing. So much depends on the consumer.

No conspiracy here saints...just simple economics.

Bless you,

Wayne

Gasoline is still cheaper per capita income than it was in 1950 as well. The price of gasoline has been artificially held down by the US government to promote economic growth. Looks like they actually might have to change some policies and rethink what they are doing.

example:

1 dollar in 1950 is about the same as 7.5 dollars today.

Average price of gasoline in 1950 - $0.27

Average price today in 2004 - $1.93

Price of gasoline in 1950 in today's Dollars $2.02

And that's with cleaner gas with more environmental controls today. I'd say we're pretty lucky and I'm surprised we don't have a gas price like they do in europe of around $5.00 per gallon. Car makers have been dragging their feet and now they have no excuse.

Another thing we need to take into consideration in the price of gasoline is the amount of tax that is included.

Some of the cost differences in our prices are different blends to match enviornmental needs of different parts of the country. And a lot of it is differences in state and local taxes.

There are a lot more cars in L.A. than Okc. and the wind almost never stops blowing here in Oklahoma. Not so In L. A so the different needs of the area make for some difference in the cost of gasoline. Also transporation costs. I have been told that the Tax is the highest factor for the difference in price. I have not tried to see how true that is. Maybe we can all look on our next fill up and see how much tax is charged if it is listed on the pumps like it is here.

The last time I looked to notice here in central oklahoma it was either 41 or 47 cents. Can't remember which, but I'll check.

I am told that a lot of the price for gas in Europe is tax. It would be interesting to know for sure if that is the case.

well, all i know is what I know, what I have seen ( yes, personally seen )

in the late 70's gas prices jumped.. we had a fuel crisis..... an artificial crisis,...

we were being told that there was a shortage of fuel, but in all actuallity, there was an abundance..... a major excess..... and who suffered???? the public....

there were times that the tankers pulling into the Chesepeke bay were heavy laiden with oil.... also seen many tankers sitting in line waiting to off load oil.... some tankers coming in to the bay were off loading oil on to other tankers so they could take off again...... the problem?? the storage facilities were full.... a false crisis to inflate the prices......

at one point they were calling a shortage/crisis and what was actually taking place was that the USA was producing more fuel that year, then both the opec and the us the year before....

what all this amounts to is which god people are bowing down to...... some people have money as their god.... alot of people do.... the more money they have the better...... look at the wars thru out history, mostly due to GREED...... and that includes the protestant/catholic trash in Ireland, the west banks, the persian gulf, the american revolution ( taxes upon taxes upone taxes ).....

I am trying to keep my cost down for my customers... but with every thing else going up, i have to raise my prices to some extent..... it is most unfortunate that most of my customers are on fixed income, and i mean like one lady gets 450 dollars amonth to live on..... that is suppose to cover her house expenses, utilities and food???? she is in her 70's and is now working again, cause she can not afford to live....... social security is the only income she has that is steady..... come on.... the rise in milk here was 1.25 a gallon, to right at 4 bucks a gallon..... guess we not going to eat cereal anymore cause them prices now up to from 2.50 a pound to 5 bucks a pound ( depending on brand and type ).......

beef is ridiculous...... eggs 1.50 a dozen??? give me a break..... gots to have two people working just to pay for the food....

this is an election year.....

if you vote straight party you are not doing us any good.... we need to forget about party and vote for the person that God has placed on the ballet....

I hope that all of you are petitioning God for the right person(s) to be placed on the ballets......

V.R.

Mike, I understand and agree with you that the price of gasoline should not be as high as it is just by supply and demand. It has gone up too much in the last 3 months unless there is something going on we don't know about.

As for the 70's I know for a fact that there was a 30+ inch pipeline running from Houston to Chicago full of gasoline that was sealed on both ends and middle for some kind of safety backup.

My dad had a service station and we never ran out of gas the whole time.

That whole time period was funny and I don't know if it was the oil companies or the government or both that were doing things behind the scenes, but your correct that something was going on.

We might remember that when GB & DC took office, one of the first things they did was bring in a large sampling of the energy producing people. They will not tell us what they discussed or who all was there even. So, Both the government and the industry have an idea about things that they refuse to share with the rest of us. I have no idea if this is good or bad, and it could be either way considering the things going on these days.

So we much watch......

Sam

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
