A Woman's Right To Abortion

I have to wonder why if the woman chooses to kill her unborn child it is classified as choice, but if someone murders a pregnant woman they are charged with double homicide?

Sorry if I took this off topic.

Wow, good point pearl, never really thought about that, what is wrong with laws and society??

I know this topic has be "discussed" to death, but it is a topic that will never go away. I shared this on another forum, and I wanted to share it here . . .

No, I have never had an abortion, so I cannot speak first hand about the emotional affect it has on those involved. However, I can speak second hand as I have witnessed the turmoil that someone very close to me has experienced because of abortion.

We may never know or even agree with a woman's reason/excuse for having an abortion. I too have often thought, "Why doesn't she just have the baby and let some loving person adopt the little bundle?"

I do not agree with abortion, but I do believe in a person's right to choose. I don't always agree with the choices that some people make, and many people in this world don't always agree with some of the choices I make either. However, as horrible as I believe abortion to be, I must always remind myself that it is not unforgivable, and I must also always remember to pray for those involved. That may be easier said than done at times, but that's when it is most necessary and essential to exercise discipline and compassion.

Everyone makes mistakes. I know I do, and I reap what I sow; sometimes good reaping; :24: sometimes not so good. Therefore, I cannot pass judgment, for with what judgment I judge, I shall be judged, and with the same measure I use it will be measured back to me.

:emot-handshake::24::emot-highfive:

Do you just as strongly support Adolph Hitler's 'right to choose' to murder millions of Jews, Christians, Homosexuals, Slavs, etc? Do you support Joseph Mengele's 'right to choose' to do vivisections on twins and dwarfs? Do you support Pol Pot's 'right to choose' to slaughter 1/6 of the populationn of Cambodia?

Come now; none of these things is any more evil than what is done to babies in the womb.

You MUST be intellectually consistent, my dear! :noidea:

the most powerful preventative measure we can take regarding the choices others make is prayer.

I am intellectually consistent. That's why I rephrased my statement to use the world freewill instead of right. Everyone has freewill. I can't take that from anyone, and no one can take that from me. That doesn't mean I agree with or support everyone's choices, but I do respect their right/freewill to make that choice.

Apparently you haven't read my rephrased posts. Of course I don't agree with murder; whether in the womb or out of the womb. My whole point through this thread has been that I believe in a person's right/freewill to make whatever choices they want to make, however I also believe that they have to suffer the consequences for those choices. I never said they should get away with choosing to murder.

Correct, in addition legalized abortion has had a degrading effect on our society and culture. It by law, says that human life is cheap and disposable. Thus if we allow abortion, why not allow nursing homes to kill people with no family and who have Alzheimer

The issue is not whether or not a person has a right to choose. Clearly they do. The question is whether or not the law should protect the most vulnerable people in our society?

I personally do NOT believe abortion should be legal.

Let's examine this for just a moment. You said you respect everyone's right to their freewill to make that choice? Do you respect a person's right to commit rape? How about to rob a bank? What about to shoot up a public school?

Respecting someone's right to their freewill does not mean I agree with or support their wrong choices. I simply am trying to make the point that everyone has freewill to make their own choices, and there is nothing I can do to change the wrong choices that others may make. The only choices I can do anything about is my own choices. And, again, I do not believe abortion is ever the right choice. I do not believe sin is ever the right choice. Everyone has freewill, and there really is nothing I can do to MAKE anyone choose to do right.

Thank you all for your input.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
