Where in the bible does it say we are not to help the poor that are "lost"?

Scripture please....

The poor aren't lost, they are poor in spiritual understanding, or maybe weak or poor in faith

Jesus did not call the poor out of darkness...... he called the Lost. The poor will always be among us...both kind.

But carnally speaking the poor are considered lacking money, low income, the working poor as society has called them....poor people get food stamps, work low paying jobs, although spirituality they are weathy in FAITH...Soceity calls these people poor.

Now, God does have his righteousnesss beg for bread.....after my divorce....I didn't mind changing roofs......but God knew, within me, that if I had to beg to eat, ithat would be too much for me be bear...........I didn't have to beg....Thank you JESUS and i am still eating very well, although I lived in an apartment now instead of a home.....But still it was Provided by him, through another believer and it was provided right on time.

Someone ask.... How can you Tell a poor Christain from a poor non-believer? That is where discernment comes into play. But if any one wants to help the financially poor Christain, just go around your city and find a poor church. Now don't give it to the Chruch made by the hands of man, but go inside, say with $50.00 and sit, enjoy the service and let the Holy Spirit guide you to whom you should give your extra or your scarific to. Trust in your heart and in Faith that they are the one.........you'll know!

If no churches around....look within your neighborhood......ask one of your friends, or co-worker.....or just let the Holy Spirit lead you. Pray that who you give your money too, is truly a child of God like yourself and have faith that they are. Pick you a poor zip code, pray, open your phone book and pick a name.....not put your name, cause you want God to thank you, not the person, send it to them with a note that God moved you do to thiss.......They will never forget you and maybe when they have risen up out of their poorness, they will do for another what you have done for them.

Your money will get into the right hand......and they will tell all their friends and family how great God is and what a wonderful work he has done for them. Who knows you just might hear the story yourself and what a wonderful feeling it will be within your own soul. Ever been in the store and talked to a stranger.....a mother with small children.....heard of her trails and how she iss trusting in God to pull her through....give it to her.

Why continue to help the Beggers of this world, when the children of God go lacking. God doesn't have MONEY in heaven but you might have here on earth....and like I said before JESUS proved God works best in the Flesh!

i am off the streets what i have today is off the lord my home was a run down old motel i used a dirty old carpet for a blanket that smelt of urine i use to eat out of the bins and i would also get food from a suppermarket the food that was thrown into this dumpster was fresh

i would also go to the food vans that would drive around sydney and i would go to a shelter and get a shower and clean clothes

when i gave my heart to the lord in 1988 all i had was a pair of torn jeans a torn shirt and a torn jumper my shoes where falling appart and i had long hair

what i have today is off the lord the jobs i have had have also been off god not once has the lord let me down

i work close with the poor people who live in our community

my fiancee is a filapino pastor and the philippines has a lot off poor people living in slums and what use to be a tip their homes are not like our homes is it their fault for being poor no the ones we spend our time with are doing there best to stay on top

the rich people always take advantage of the poor people in my partners country most of our members live in slums and sevral of our members live in a community that once use to be a tip

what does the gospel of james have to say about what you have left hear for us all to read i wonder if you are true to your self and i wonder if you are a true christian

lets look at what james is saying to what you have left hear for us

James 2

1 My Brethren hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus christ the lord of glory with respect of persons

2 For if there come into your synagouge a man with a gold ring in fine clothing and there come in also a poor man in vile clothing

3 and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing and say sit thou hear in a good place and ye say to the poor man stand thou there or sit under my foot stool

4 are ye not divided in your own mind and become judges with evil thoughts ?

5 Hearken my beloved brethren did not God choose them that are poor as to the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him

6 But ye have dishonoured the poor man Do not the rich opress you and them selves drag you before the judgment seats ?

7 Do not they blaspheme the honourable name by which ye are called ?

what you have said hear is what jesus observed by how the pharisees and sadducees where behaving when it came to the way the poor were dealt with by the rich jesus came down very hard on the pharisees and on the sadducees

what you have said hear is not settling right with me and i feel if the missonerys and my fiancee and the out reach workers i know where to read what you have said i feel that they would be rebuking you teling you to go over your bible and take a deep good look at what jesus was actualy saying

all you have in front off you is your translation you read from do you ask the holy spirit to open your eyes to what you are reading or do you some how understand what jesus said in the gospels ?

i have seen god do some amazing things when we die to the flesh and do it his way if we allow our flesh to rule off course we wil see it to the way you see it

we do what we can for the poor people living near our church most of our members give everything they have my partner even gives her pastor pay to the church she gets $300 a month and often has invested back into the main church and not once has god let her down our members live on $250 to $190 a month and they also do the same the members even open up their homes where our new church is planted

and before you question me i have oppened up my home i have also helped a home less person and when i see some one in need i give what i have with out asking anything in return

why help the beggers of the world when the children of god go with out wel if the children off god bothered to tythe and belive what they read they would not go with out instead their store houses wil be full only if the children off god would stop mocking god and stop testing and stop doubting god

i am looking forward to what you are going to leave me this is going to be very inlighting

Oh, he didn't mean help the world's poor that belong to Satan, but those poor that belong to him. I think A lot of people thinking just helping anyone poor is good and I think they miss the mark...but the poor christian is still lacking.

How does one tell the difference between the poor believer and the poor non-believer?

by the fruit of their labors...... one that is with Christ, has good fruit that last, one that is not, does not......

a poor man that is working to make ends meet, well, i would give him the shirt off my back and also give them a roof to cover their heads, but a man that sits and relys on other men to work for him, is not worth the salt that comes from his body, for his salt is tasteless and flavors nothing.....

Can you give me some examples of some varieties of meanings and applications...cuz I am not quiet sure where you are going with this. Was my question too broad? How can I be more specific? With respect,

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. ~ Phillipians 4:11-13

Paul, who knew the best and the worst life had to offer lent these words of wisdom - be content, regardless of your situation. Do I have a million dollars, then am I prospering? do I have not a cent to my name, then am I prospering? In all things, be content. I may not have money, a wife, and even have problems with my family which are troublesome, but I am the richest man in the world - because god is by my side. that's not to say I'm perfect. I would one day love to meet a loving Christian woman who can love me back, long to reconcile problems with family though having tried, would love to have more money than I do, but despite this, I am content in the Lord. Whether I have a lot or a little, I can do anything with God, who gives me strength.

That friends, is prosperity :sneaking:

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
