I Failed My First Drug Test

A local hospital was taking applications for employment, so naturally, I put in my application to work in housekeeping. After the interview, I was given a drug test..... which I failed, to my surprise.

I had never taken illegal drugs in my entire life. And yet, I failed my first drug test. I couldn't figure out what went wrong. The woman on phone asked me if I was taking any cold medicine and I said, yes. I had recently gotten over a bad cough and I had only a few tablets left before the container was empty. I was told to take them all.

The prescription drug I was taking was CODEINE. It controls a cough. I only took one at night because it made me very sleepy. I brought the prescription bottle to the hospital and let them see that I had a prescription to take it. Hours later, they called me to let me know I could report for work that following Monday.

Guess what CODEINE does once it gets into your blood stream? It turns into OPIUM. Wow. What a shock. I had Opium in my blood stream when I went to take my first drug test. No wonder I failed!

If you're planning on taking a drug test for employment, take a list of the drugs you are taking and take the bottle with you to prove a doctor prescribed it. Otherwise, you might fail a drug test, too.

My mom always said to make sure you know what is going in your mouth before you swallow it! :whistling: A friend of mine was on a list for a new liver and during one of her weekly blood test she was informed she was in danger of losing her place because she tested positive for opiums. She doesn't do drugs and when she wrote down everything that she had put in her mouth that week it turned out that she had a McDonald's hamburger with sesame seeds on it and those can test positive in some individuals. I had never heard of that before so we just never know.

Congrats :whistling: Willow and thanks for the tips...I think I heard something about onions having opium in them too..I love onions but not for that reason I love them fried and put on food so probably it loses the opium effect LOL I hope so...I think you would have to eat a ton to get any kinda effects anyways...I think.

No wonder I can't take any med that contains this. It makes me sicker than a dog.

Codeine gives my daughter psychotic ideations. We haven't let her have any since she gleefully talked about wanting to kill our kitty. :whistling:

Along the same lines: watch out for those big muffins like they sell at Costco or Sam's Club. I ate one with poppy seeds for breakfast one morning, and flunked a drug test at the VA that evening. The test said I had opium in my system too. Gave me all kinds of problems because I was in an out-patient rehab program at the time.

I've been told that Novocaine (and all drugs whose names end in -cain or -caine) will give a positive for cocaine on a drug test.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
