Well I do not understand. What is difficult to understand, that the Apostle Peter and the Jews new that the Gentiles had been granted repentance unto life, because they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

This is how they new God had given them life, by them speaking in another tongue and magnifying God.

Divers kinds of tongues is many tongues given to a believer as one of the gifts of the Spirit, not the same as speaking in another tongue when you initially receive the Holy Ghost.

Just as all prophecy when they testify of the works of God; for the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy. That does not mean that they the gift of being a prophet, which is also one of the gifts of the Spirit.

I guess this may be the end of this, unless???

Yes, it is how they knew, but it is not the only way to know.

Was Stephen a believer? Do we know that because of his speaking in tongues or by his actions? To me the fruit of one’s lives is how we know that a person is a believer.

It is not the only way to show that you are a believer. I should also point out that there such things as false tongues, so speaking in tongues does not make one a believer.

Divers kinds of tongues is many tongues given to a believer as one of the gifts of the Spirit, not the same as speaking in another tongue when you initially receive the Holy Ghost.

The Bible does not make a distinction between the two; his is a man made distinction.

Taking into account you say that I am following a false Gospel since I don’t speak in tongues, there really is not much else to be said

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

1 Cor 12:30 (KJV)

Obviously not all speak in tongues.

I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

1 Cor 14:18 (KJV)

False gospel since you don't speak in tongues? That is very wrong.

It is the Word of God. You are denying it.

Then he must have given it to you by special revelation because it is NOT in the BIBLE, and that is a FACT

It is given to you in the Word. We have posted it. That's a fact.

Why get so worked up over this? No one is questioning your salvation. This is a gift given to us for edification, for power in prayer, and more intimacy with the Father. Not using it doesn't mean you cannot have any of those things by other means. It is just one of many wonderful things God gives. Poo-pooing it hurts Him and yourself.

If you don't desire it, then let it go, and allow your brethren to exercise their freedom in that area, and move on.

Again, I don't question your salvation. There is only one true gospel, and if someone believes, they believe. Gifts are handed out by the Giftgiver (God), and He gives what He wants to whom He wants, and salvation is not the same as having this or that gift.

Personally, I prefer to be around someone that has the gift of faith, makes everything much easier in ministry.

I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

1 Cor 14:18 (KJV)

it seems to some there are different "versions" of tongues

False gospel since you don't speak in tongues? That is very wrong.

This is what was said about a believer that was saved for 60 years and didnt speak in tongues, tell me if I took it wrong....

So the man that has been been a believer for sixty years has believed in another gospel/Word that Peter or Paul did not preach. Jesus being the Word of God. When a person believes on Jesus, it means of course that they believe in what is being preached.

There is only one Gospel, so if a person has believed in another gospel, that Gospel has to be a false one. Or am I off base here?

This may seem at first as a long answer, but there is a point. Which I hope I can make clear. At which point I will restate your question.

I would not say that God has not done things by you, or spoken to you. It may be more like Acts 18:24-28, the story of Apollos. This was a man mighty in the scriptures, yet there was a more perfect way. Though it does not say what was said to Apollos, it does say that he new only the baptism of John.

We can see in Acts 19:1-7 a similar situation with the disciples at Ephesus. The disciples at Ephesus only knew the baptism of John just like Apollos. I can then know for certainty that Apollos would have also been re-baptized in the name of Jesus, just as the disciples at Ephesus were. I would also know that Apollos also would have received the Holy Ghost as the disciples at Ephesus did.

Note:When the question was asked if they had the Holy Ghost in Acts 19:1-7, and they in essence said no, it raised the question how they were baptized. The knowledge of baptism is directly tied into receiving the Holy Ghost.

So then,your question was:

There is only one Gospel, so if a person has believed in another gospel, that Gospel has to be a false one. Or am I off base here?

The things that you or anyone else knows about the scriptures can be fine. But there may come a point that there is a more excellent/perfect way. If at that point were the more perfect way is rejected, then what would a person be following... truth or error, the true gospel or false. Both of us cannot be right at the same time regarding this subject, which I know that you would agree.

Following another Jesus or another gospel is simply believing another message other than the Apostles were preaching/teaching.

I surely hope that I have been able to put this in a understandable way, and have answered your question.

For a little side note: I know that I have said this several times before, but what do you say? The house of Cornelius had Peter preach to them to tell them words how to be saved(Acts 11:14). What happened to that house?... they spoke in tongues and magnify God, that is how they knew they had been granted repentance unto life (Acts 11:15-18). Words are very important as I know you understand, or we would not be having this conversation.

I really have enjoyed this talk with you.

I will be taking off for the weekend, and most likely will not be responding maybe until Sunday.

Peace in Christ.

Do mutes pray?

I know several that do. Sometimes with sign language, and sometimes within their hearts and minds.

Well if they can pray in their own ''tongue'' who is to say they cannot pray in other tongues?

Oh my...I can't believe that I just read that one. Well if you are using the tongues example as evidence then is that evidence to you?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
