I was a guest guitarist at a church today, men and women were wearing shorts,of course so were the teen girls, and short shorts at that, now God showed me that there were some men there who are having a problem with lust,God tolded me that the men came to the church to get help and to get prayer over their lusting sins,so here they are at church with suppose to be christian families and their daughters with short shorts on.

do not call yourself a christian if you do not warn people of their actions,do not call your self a christian when you are a stumbling block,do not call your sel a christian if you are not living a Christ like life

That's actually one of the issues that keeps me from going.

I have enough distractions in my life, I don't need another one.

But that's just me.

It is a tough topic. It would be good to address the issue of proper dress in church. I don't think many young people and young women really know or intend to dress in a way that is seen as slutty; it is simply the culture. I do think it would be good to gently speak of the impact of dressing that way and what and how they are presenting themselves to men and society at large.

It is important to me as a young woman that my dress pleases the Lord. The lines are hard to draw, but certainly this means lower hemlines and higher collars. Another aspect is that sometimes ladies go too far and look dumpy. I think that we ought to look our best without causing temptation to our brothers.

From past experiences, I can say that this may become a hot topic. What I mean by hot, is that this topic is very controversial and peoples flesh will rise. Be on guard against this. If you feel your flesh running to anger and unchristian thoughts, please, back off, pray and answer as He leads you to answer. Remember the TOS:

The use of profanity will not be tolerated. This includes sexually explicit, vulgar, or other profane language or usernames as well as any any signs or symbols that suggests such. Do not post sexually explicit, vulgar or offensive website addresses (URL's) to the forum. (Eph. 4: 29)

Abuse of other posters is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, name calling, insulting, harassing, threatening or in any way invading the privacy of another poster. We also strongly discourage giving out personal information such as email addresses, physical addresses and phone numbers on the public boards. Any information given out in private is at your own discretion and risk. (Eph. 4: 29)

Debate the subject, not the person. It is possible to disagree about a doctrine or subject under discussion without insulting the person with whom you are debating. Also remember that the fact that a person disagrees with you does not mean they are attacking you as a person. Respect each other in the love of God! This is the main reason that threads get stopped, shut down, and even deleted! Users that cannot respect others will be banned. (Lev. 19:18)

Dress in church is a very relevant subject...including in my own church.

It may have been better to make your point WITHOUT laying our your criteria by which others may call themselves Christians. There are many legitimate Christians that dress improperly, just as there are many legitimate Christians that have other failings.

I don't think we ought to tell others to quit calling themselves Christians because they fail at something; whether it be dress or something else. Which one of us is without sin? (Is that a big resounding silence I hear?) It might be a good idea to try to rally the women of the church to lead by example and for the men to pray for forgiveness for their impure thoughts (if they have them.) These young girls haven't been taught obviously; I see a lot of parents who let their daughters wear things that would be inappropriate on the Vegas strip. But it's something that can be addressed, in a sensitive way, without throwing people out of the church windows.

Just as an afterthought....what kind of church has a congregation in shorts? I've never seen this.

I do think also it is wrong to put on the blame on the girls, those doing the lusting are not without guilt

It's not just the people lusting that are stumbling.

There are women who see these "girls" and pass judgement on them.

There are younger girls who see these "girls" as role models.

There are other girls of the same age who see these "girls" and want to be like them.

It's not just about guys looking at girls.

And you're right, the ones who are lusting are not without guilt.

you just described every day of life, be it in church, work, the mall, or where ever.

I did didn't I.

Funny how the "world" has crept into the church and some people seem to think it's ok.

Doesn't the Word say something about being in the world but not a part of it?

I think that is right that is a description of everyday life.

For me one the things I want to leave behind is everyday secular life. I don't want the Church to be like the mall.

But this issue really can be addressed and it is all about extremes. I don't expect any young women to dress like a 19th century person head to toe covered etc. I would not want my daughter to feel the need to dress like that, in fact I want he to look attractive. Also there is a big difference between looking, bright, attractive and beautiful and looking trashy, we just need to teach girls and boys the difference.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
