Because, since I was a little boy, I am thinking of becoming Missionary. However, there are many things and information I have to know hence, I would like to meet p[eople and and reach the way to discover and know them further. I mean, I would be most grateful if someone could tel me more about the Baptist faith and how they are different from others such as Lutherans, Methodists and so on. I was baptized as a member of the Evangelical Church of the Congo as known here, in French, under the name of Eglise Evangelique du Congo and shortly as E.E.C. but theye do not have the same Missionary vison as the baptist Church is known ad is doing all over the world. We have here a new Church called Evangelical Baptist Chjurch but their leader has been an Evanmgelist come from the E.E.C. and I am then wondering a lot about his basics on the Baptist faith. Thanks in advance and GOD bless you through Jesus Christ. Amen.

We have attended two Baptist churches in the past 3 years, and both have different ways, and like any church service you attend all things must be measured by Biblical standards and not by man's. The Southern Baptists believe in the deity of Christ, the Trinity, and they do not baptize for salvation but as an act of obedience. These are Biblical points of view. The Baptist churches I have attended believe in the Holy Spirit but one of them encouraged His work and the other one picks and chooses which of the Spiritual Gifts are acceptable. Remember that you need to read and study your Bible so that you can discerne if they are Christ centered and holding the Bible in authority. <>< ><> Nathele

I am currently attend a Southern Baptist Church, so I can answer questions about them Don't they all teach the same thing? I am a southern Baptist Minister currently attending an American Baptist Church. right of the bat I can tell you that this church has a female pastor, something that a Southern Baptist chruch would never have. (it is unbiblical afterall) If you want to know about Southern Baptist Missionaries, you need to contact the Missions board and go through the paper work. They can tell you all you need to know. I will tell you that Southern Baptists are the ones most guided by the written word and less by social changes and culture.

It is written .. 2 Peter 1:2-11 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Well that would depend on the church itself. I visited a Southern Baptist church while visiting my inlaws about a month ago and unfortunatly they were very much in the world. Very true sister, that is the world over, unfortunately. It depends on the church and it's stand in doctrine and the Lord.

I assusme not. The Westboro Baptist Church for one is an abomination. I would think that with the majority of them the differences are minor, but I have not been to them all, so I really dont know. If they were only minor, why do you suppose they felt the need to split off and form a whole new church.
