In the bible it says your name is sealed in the lambs book of life. Does that mean that your name was there before u were saved, but when u get saved it is sealed in there or what. I am a strong believer i am just curious about this topic. I also think others are interested in it as well. Please quote some scripture and prove it for me. Thank you and God Bless!

Hope you will forgive me for not quoting the scriptures, although Eph 1;4-6 AND A FEW OTHERS COME TO MIND.

I see that there are few who want to wade in with this one because it is the same old issue of whether we chose JESUS or JESUS chose us.

Yes, the Bible teaches that the book was sealed from the foundations of the world, it also teaches us the JESUS was the lamb slain from the foundations of the world, and there are a lot of little tid-bits in the scriptures that tell us that there is a plan that is being worked out in us.

I am doing what I can to not come down on any side of this debate at this time, lest we see a free-for-all.

God's election is determined upon His foreknowledge of our acceptance of His Son. Whom He foreknows He predestinates and calls. God does not force anyone to be His child, but because of seeing down through time He could see that you did accept His Son into your life.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

If when my son is mis-behaving and I say "I will never stop loving you because of what you just did" does that imply that there are reasons I would stop loving him or does that mean that I will not stop loving him no matter what?

We are choosen before creation by GOD for HIS purpose in accordance with HIS will and once you are in HIS hand HE will in no-wise let you go. HE will always do what is best for you if you like it or not and that includes keeping you saved and sealed until the day of redemption.

We are choosen before creation by GOD for HIS purpose in accordance with HIS will and once you are in HIS hand HE will in no-wise let you go. HE will always do what is best for you if you like it or not and that includes keeping you saved and sealed until the day of redemption.

Unless you turn away from your salvation. He is not about to override our will.

I actually just went back and read that scripture for the thousandth time. It really does speak of a church that is not doing right but that the individuals will never be blotted out.

It will always amaze me that you think GOD does not care enough about you to keep you saved.
