Interracial relationships and the hoo ha involved.

I watched an American DVD last night - a movie about an African American woman involved in a relationship with a Caucasion man (who happens to be an Aussie actor!!) and the hoo ha that it caused because of an interracial relationship. It was quite an eye opener IF it in fact represents a slice of reality in the US concerning these areas.

Australia is not that blinkered IMO.

damo1, what is your opinion? Do you think Australians are more open to the notion of interracial relationships?

OR

Do you think it depends on WHERE you live IN Australia?

Blinkered? :emot-handshake: What exactly does that mean?

I'm not sure what movie you are talking about but that is pretty much a non-issue here. Sure, people might have thier own personal opinions on it but it certainly isn't any "big deal" to our country as a whole.

Blinkered as in a race horse wearing blinkers to keep it's eyes on the track ahead and to not be distracted by anything else- is a term in Aus meaning not being open to new things.

The movie is called Something New.

Okay. Thanks for the explanation and for the name of the movie. It's hard for me to say since I personally have not watched it but like I said, interracial relationships apart from one's own personal opinion is not a big deal over here, either.

hay his girl

just going over the fourm and found your post sorry for the delay comming to your questions

i am about to be married to a filapino and i see no problem in interracial relationships i am croation my self and i am happy with the women god has given me

though i am noticing his girl its diffrent when its a muslim or some one from lebanon who has strong roots and ties to islam

my step mother is maltez and my old man who is no longer alive croation

its diffrent to for us who have been raised up and it depends on how you raise your kids and how you your self have been raised and what values you hold on to his girl

i asked my fiancee who is a filapino pastor will there be a problem with you dating some one from australia and wil your side accept me for who i am the reason i asked i did not know much about her or how filapino parents raise their kids

my fiancee told me his girl her parents wanted her to settle down with some one from her country she tried but said to me it did not work and she ended the realtionship

when i was asked to fly out to the philippines in jan 2008 to meet her family i sort of hezitated his girl i told my fiancee i was nerves

at first it was hard due to my fiancee and sevral of her family members only able to speek english her father likes me he spent most of his free time getting to know me her mother said hello and that was it

some Australians are open his girl to the notion but from what i have observed a lot of Australians are not open

i noticed this when i started to date Aussie girls and the reaction i would get from the aussie males it did not worry me his girl but i could sence what the males were thinking i did have sevral confront me and tell me to leave their women alone i said to one guy she is not with you she can use her head and she has no ring on her finger you do not own her i had an intrest in a girl but due to her parents and her mates i found out she did not want to cause trouble or be excomunicated

as long as you see your self setling with the person and their is genuine love between you and you are open and are willing to accept the person for who they are and are willing to learn about there culture there should be no problem his girl

we all have the same color blood even though our skin looks diffrent

my reason i looked out side of Australia i got used by the aussie women i found my self drawn to his girl i also noticed the ones i was drawn to did not want to committ or stick to the one person the women i fell for wanted to also date my mates sleep with them with out committing to me

since i have been with my fiancee and took my time to under stand her learn about her culture to were i am also learning how to speak her languge to be honest i dont care what my friends will be saying

in certain parts of australia it would be hard for a man or a women to date i saw this in Armidale with my aborigonal friends and i saw this with my new zealand friends and Greek and italian and Asian friends

i have sevral friends keeping it hush and away from their family which is silly

i hope i have answered your questions his girl if you have any questions ask me i wil do my best to answer your questions

one thing though i know its going to be hard for my fiancee when she comes hear for a 6 month brake his girl i am going to do my best to shield her and prottect her she is very pretty his girl she is very smart and a lovely caring god fearing women

my fiancee wants to meet my friends she wants to see how we live and she wants to travel a bit so i am going to show her what our country has to offer

both me and my friend who is my best man feel ashamed i told her my home is a bit bigger then her home and my friends home is like a mansion

i am preparing her as she is from a poor family their homes are not like ours his girl

this is the only thing that is worrying me how is she going to unjust to what she is going to see

i have to keep telling my fiancee every day i love her she is the only women i want to settle with

if i did not meet my fiancee his girl their was one aborigonal girl i would have ended with his girl i keep in touch with her we are very close friends it just happend god put my fiancee in my path at the right time and my aborigonal friend is ok with this she is like a big sister to me though i did not now she had feelings for me i found out one day and said to her if she had spoken up i would have said yes she thought i would have rejected her i said no i would not have rejected her i found this thew my pastor in armidale and his wife his girl

Thanks damo1 for you honest opinion!

It obviously is where one lives and what the makeup is in people group terms and the majority/minority.

Where I am from there is a large number of black people groups, not so much Asian and a majority of Caucasion. The mix of black and white is quite high and generally the mindset is very open to the fact.

its ok his girl i know what you mean with my circle of friends his girl it was diffrent some were scared and some did not know what to say to the opposite side

in some farming communitys in australia i noticed it can be hard as their are red necks who dont believe in inter racial relationships

one of my best friends would get picked on because he would date girls from other countrys and he was born hear he did not let it worry him but his female friends had sort of ther own agenda

i aslo noticed this in cabrammatta and moorbank and marackvill and lakemba were you have many people from diffrent cultuers you can always pick the true red neck aussie

only know is the mind set open his girl i am going back to the 80 when it was a no no my old man told me as i was very young when we came to australia

god bless from damo

That is very interesting damo as I am a child of an interracial marriage and I haven't faced any opposition concerning the opposite sex or for that matter other women being possessive of "their" men.

So it sounds as if Aussie men get a bit ruffled over men of other Nationalities being with "their" women so to speak.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
