He's abandoned the values that helped him accomplish what he has in life, because of the color of a candidates skin. A couple of years ago, he came out in support of afermitive action, so this is not really surprising. If he came back later, and wished to run for Republican Presidential Candidate, I would vote third party. where did you find out he abandoned his values? Guest Biblicist
Powell Defends Affermative Action Can we really believe that his choice is NOT based on color? And can we really be surprised at his decision? Maybe he didn't abandon his values, maybe these were his values all along.

Again, yes, you are belittling him by positing that his choice is based on color. I support affirmative action, and my support for Obama is not based on the fact that he is black. It does not seem strange to you that he has supported, and worked with THREE Republican presidents, and now is supporting a Liberal candidate? Maybe he was a liberal all along, and simply lied. Which is worse.
Guest yod
Maybe he was a liberal all along, and simply lied. Which is worse. I half agree/disagree with you. It's only speculation but I think that he was not as leftist as the Democratic Party but probably not really a conservative either. But I don't think that he lied. He has always been able to honorably stay out of the democrat/republican wars which was always his political appeal. He was one of those rare people who could go both ways with some dignity, I thought.

They hate Colin Powell...or rather they did until this endorsement. I guarantee you that if Powell had endorsed McCain ALL you would hear about is his ties to the Bush Whitehouse...how he lied in the run-up to the war...how he covered up Iran/Contra...was involved in the Vietnam massacre at Mai Lai...etc.. Now that he's endorsed Obama he's regarded as an intelligent man with years of service to the country. The way I see it...Obama just got an endorsement from a guy who the liberals accused of terrorism and murder. Just add Powell to the list of Obama's shady friends I guess...lol.
