May I ask you a few questions regarding this?

Go right ahead, though I fear it may lead off topic, but it is your thread.

First question

Have you ever told a lie?

Yes.

So what does that make you?

If I were to start telling you lies, you would call me a what?

A liar. Next question?

Have you ever stolen something, even something small, a ballpoint pen, or a paper clip even?

And I'll anticipate your next question to hopefully speed things up and just say: I am a thief.

Have you ever hated anyone?

Have you ever looked at someone with sexual desire?

I'm not sure that I've actually ever hated someone, but for arguments sake I'll say yes just in case I have at some point in my life.

And for the second question, I'll say yes to that too.

So what does that make me so far? A liar, a thief, a hater(?) and a luster(?).

More questions or shall we cut to the punch line?

You say that you have always tried to live in a way that you believe to be good. Where do you get your standard of good from?

The Lord says that if you so much as hate someone you have commited murder in your heart.

The Lord also says the if you so much as look at a woman with lust, you have already commited adultery in your heart.

So by your own admission, your a lying, thieving, adulterous, ,murderer. And we have to face God on judgment day.

I know you dont believe in God, but IF he were to judge you by these Ten Commandments do you think you would be innocent or guilty?

Allow me to ask you something and perhaps it will help you understand why it doesn't concern me. Are you concerned about breaking Zeus' rules? Or Kali's rules? Or Osiris' rules? Are you concerned that you won't be buried with two silver coins when you die so as to be able to pay the ferryman to cross the River Styx?

As a Christian, you are an atheist with respect to every single God that men have ever worshipped except one. When you understand why you don't believe in Odin, Horus, Ares or Ganesh you will understand why I don't believe in your version of God.

First off I hope I am not offending you, that is not my intention. I am trying to understand what the reasons are for so many peoples disbelief.

Are you saying that you believe in a higher power, but are unsure of which one, or that one does not exist? I would like to point out though a couple of key differences between those "gods" and my God is this. First, no other religion or "god" promises the forgiveness of sins. Not at all RigMedic, and likewise, my intention is not to offend you.

Are you saying that you believe in a higher power, but are unsure of which one, or that one does not exist?

I believe in the possibility of a higher power however I have no evidence that one exists and therefore have no belief in a higher power.

I would like to point out though a couple of key differences between those "gods" and my God is this. First, no other religion or "god" promises the forgiveness of sins.

This is irrelevant. What it promises cannot be verified and uniqueness is not evidence of truth. It may be true, but this isn't evidence of truth and is thus irrelevant.

Secondly the Bible, which we believe is the word of God, has 100% fulfillment of its predictions. There are about 3,856 verses directly or indirectly concerned with prophecy in Scripture. God's challenge to the world is, "Prove me now ...I the Lord have spoken it: it shall come to pass" (see Malachi 3:10; Ezekiel 24:14). The destruction of Tyre, the invasion of Jerusalem, the fall of Babylon and Rome-each event was accurately predicted in the Bible and later fulfilled to the smallest detail.

This kind of thing is of interest to me and is possibly one of the things that could make me a believer. I'd need to be able to scrutinise it though. I have been shown some examples and they usually boil down to a certain kind of circular reasoning where the Bible is given as evidence for the truth of the Bible.

If you could guide me to any good books by reputable and respected authors on the topic I'd be most appreciative.

Interesting. Haven't you posted here before...with a different name? :24:

She hosts the radio and television program, "Understanding the End of the Age." She is an author, speaker and teacher, and directs fromthehidden.com.

Thomas Ice

Dave Breese

Late host of "The King is Coming" program (now hosted by Ed Hindson), was founder of Christian program with Dr. Tim LaHaye. He was an author, outstanding speaker, broadcaster, debater and teacher. Having lived in Israel for more than 25 years, he has been near suicide bombings, developed relationships with various Israeli political and military leaders, and has become an expert on Israel and the Middle East. He has authored and co-authored books on Israel and the end-times, including a recent combination current events-biblical prophecy book. He authors the monthly newsletter "Israel News Digest," and is an exciting conference speaker. He offers email updates at ddolan.com.

Alan Franklin

He has been a British journalist since 1964, and recently a chief reporter and editor of a journal serving a quarter of a million readers in southeast England. He is a Bible prophecy teacher and expert on the cults. As a British Christian versed in prophecy he could not help but see in the emerging European Superstate as the foundations of a one world government with a one world dictator at its head, the man whose Biblical names include "the Beast," "the man of sin" and "the Antichrist." He calls this "The New Unholy Roman Empire." He is an author, teacher, speaker and writer.

Gary Frazier

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
