Unbelievable. Jesus is no "Indian giver". Once you get saved, you are saved.

When I read this, I thought about my uncle. He grew up in the church and he believed in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Then something terrible happened to him. Without going into details...it was so bad he ended up in a mental institution.

He now rejects Jesus and doesn't believe that God even exists. So, by your belief, he is still saved. But if what it takes to be saved is faith and belief in Jesus like the scripture says, he isn't saved...anymore.

My sister is a firm OSAS believer and like I said I am undecided. I always put this into a personal context as well. I got saved in college and was on fire for God for some years. For a few years later however I lost all desire to grow. I stopped attending church, reading my bible etc. I still believed in God and I knew what I was doing was wrong. If I had died in that time frame would I have gone to hell? I don't know the answer to that. I am just so thankful that God was patient with me and drew me back to Him. I am closer to God now that I have ever been in my life and I live each day wanting to please Him and learn more about Him!

Without displaying either a tulip or a daisy in my buttonhole I wonder why a central doctrine of Salvation could be so confusing and elicit such controversy...Great men of G-d in either camp have reaped a bountiful harvest for G-d...and yet so many Christians struggle to get a firm grasp on the nature of the Salvation Messiah has won for them.

Exo 32:31  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Exo 32:32  Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

Exo 32:33  And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Jud 1:5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

1Pe 4:18  And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

1Pe 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

If you believe that your salvation means you are now once and for all saved....the danger is that you will sit on your backside and become luke-warm and be content happy in the knowledge that you are saved.

If you believe that your salvation means that you can lose it at any stage...the danger is that you will become extremely insecure because of your many weaknesses....always wondering if there is a way back into G-ds Grace.

I don't believe the Bible teaches an easy Grace nor unwarranted condemnation and insecurity...and we know that...

1Co 14:33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Hmmm....so perhaps there is something clearer...more defined...that truely demonstrates the heart of G-d and the great salvation that Yeshua/Jesus has won for us.

Hmm interesting topic.

I was raised in a church where I was taught that I could lose my salvation.

I have struggled for years with this, because I wasn't sure how I could lose it, by that I mean, what was the sin I would have to commit to lose my salvation.

I came to believe that anytime I sinned I lost it. I answered every altar call given, just to make sure. I constantly prayed for salvation, always living in fear that I had lost it.

I still struggle with the question, 'am I really saved?' 'If I was really saved I would not do 'this and this' and I would be doing 'this and this instead.'

A pastor once explained to me that with my personality type I tended to look inside myself for answers, and I was not going to find my salvation within myself, it is not there. It is provided by Jesus and Him alone.

I have already discussed my beliefs on this subject in other threads, but I did want to clarify something for you. I used to believe OSAS, I studied alot about it and I no longer buy that lie from the enemy. The enemy uses that lie to make people think they are saved when they are truly not.

Anywho... I have heard alot of people say what you have said, that they are always afraid of losing their salvation. I don't believe your gonna go straight to hell if you say a bad word and the die the next second. We are going to sin sometimes, although we are trying to be holy everyday. I believe that if you reject Christ after you were once saved you will go to hell. By reject I mean, you decide your not gonna follow him any longer, your gonna do what you want to do, your gonna live in willful, disobedient sin. You notice I put WILLFUL in bold. That is the key.

If there are some sins in your life that you have a hard time overcoming you need to pray and ask for help. The word says we will not be tempted more than we can handle. You have the Spirit of God living in you and you can live victorious! It is a matter of letting the Spirit have control of your mind and he will renew it.

I hope this helped you some, I am not good at explaining things sometimes.

You are right. This is a danger and alot of folks use this OSAS as an excuse to live they way that they want. I don't really know why this has to be debated all the time, why someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong. If people are truly children of God and living their lives as instructed by His word then this is a mute issue. Can we at least agree on this?

ReflectionsofHim writes: " In Revelation 3:5, Jesus was writing a letter to the Church of Sardis. In that letter, He said (and this is the Lord Himself speaking):

"He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.".

That age old mystery question, "can you lose your salvation?" is being answered by our Lord when He addresses the church (the Body of Christ). For the Lord is saying that He will NOT erase one's name from the Book of Life

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
