Grace to you,

How abnormal and accursed has our own society become that we have to look for some illicit reasoning behind this cursing by extension of Hams Lewd behavior? :noidea:

What we should be more shocked at is the behavior of the two brothers Shem and Japeth. :noidea:

I mean if it wasn't such a big deal that Noah lay uncovered in his own tent and that their brother made sport of it. Why walk backwards with a covering refusing to see even a hint of their Fathers Nakedness?

I am reminded of this even as I write;

Dear sister,

Greetings in the name of the Lord,

Firstly let me say that i am the first to advocate the literal reading and interpretation of the reading of the word of God and I have advocated that in many of my postings esp when the literal interpretation makes sense, don't apply any other sense or you end up with nonsense. Having said that I recognise that the Bible does use figure of speech, when it says the trees of the mountain clap their hands-i do not intreprete it literally as i do not expect trees to have hands to clap. Same goes when Jesus says he is the door, through wihch one gains access to the Father, i do not expect to see door knobs on Jesus, i recognise that as a figure of speech.

Similarly in this account in Genesis, Moses is the author and he also wrote 4 other books including the book of Leviticus. He does use figure of speech here to write about an matter which demands much modesty as the subject matter is delicate and he uses a figure of speech which may be very obvious to everyone in his time, which may not be so obvoius in our time. To give you an example, when i said i went out last week, got very drunk and slept with a strange woman, that figure of speech is very obvoius to my present audience but may not be readily be understood by poor Moses who lived a few thousand years ago. He may have thought i have a slumber party by being a gracious host to a stranger.

Look at how often he uses the figure of speech "Uncover thy father's nakedness in Letivicus:

The man who lies with his father

maybe Ham raped his mother while Noah was drunk... in which cases Shem and Japeth covered their mother's nakedness without looking at her shame.

anyway the moral of the story.. incest is a no-no. Reason why Canaan got cursed because the deed went against what God has intended as the natural procreation of humans. just a thought. It explains how Canaan can be a brother to Shem and Japeth and Ham being hia father and also his brother.

Gen. 9:24 :"When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,"....

"There are some Scholars who believe that either Ham or Canaan, and more likely Canaan, committed an act of homosexuality on Noah; while there is no concrete proof of such, there is definitely some indication in that direction." The Expositor's Study Bible/KJV pg 19.

Blessings and peace.

HMMMMMM  What is the indication and where is it? How can they come to that idea? :emot-hug: Don't buy that.

Gen. 9:24 :"When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,"....

what could he have done to Noah that Noah would have known what he had done?.....

other then just being disrespectful, making fun, or bragging about what he has seen, what did he do to Noah ??

i am not trying to say this is one that started the practice of this abomination, but it could have been.....

Then Ham should have been cursed for the rape. If indeed that is what happened. I don't accept it. He doesn't get condemned by his brothers, father, no one???? No punishment??? In my heart I believe this isn't figurative speaking. I may be wrong :26: But there just isn't enough info to convince me sexual immoral acts were done either to Noah or his wife.

Blessings and peace brother Mike.

Who is the youngest son? How did he know it was his youngest son when first awaking?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
