  1. Nice Try Beloved And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:2-2 But No Prize But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26 For One Who Was There For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:16-17 Testified Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11 And Those In The Know Believe Him Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 12:3

  3. Why is it necessary for the blood moon and darkened sun to occur on the same day to fulfill prophecy ? Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; I think it's likely these things happen over a number of days.

  4. Fairly new in here folks.........but even at that I am impressed with your comments concerning Osteen. I kind of equate the not speaking out part in order to be pc, the same as Peter hearing the third crow; denying Christ.

  5. Dear Emissary, Blessings to you & to all...This subject has been a very controversial one,as we know it stems from the different interpretations of 1Cor13:8-12....I have heard many schools of thought, mainly the focus seems to be "that which is perfect has come"......they argue that this refers to a "thing" rather than if it were worded"He Who is perfect has come".....and that is how the belief that when the Word of God(the Bible)was completed the sign gifts ceased......I have read studies where it demonstrates that all through the Book of Acts period the operation of the gifts are made mention in Pauls letters written at that time....and then the Lord did reveal that the sign gifts would cease sometime in the future.....they say Paul no longer had the gift of healing as he did in Acts 28:9 at the time he wrote the prison epistles and refer to his co-worker Epaphroditas being seriously ill(Phil2:25-30)...also Timothy suffering (1Tim5:23)and having to leave Trophimus behind because he was so sick(Tim 4:20)......Interestingly,this belief is largely based on the fact that the Jews sought after signs(1Cor1:22) and this was the close(so to say)of God dealing with the Nation Isreal,to provoke them to jealousy(Rom 11:14) I have actually gone back & forth with this for some time...I do believe that Pauls gift of healing ceased after a time but perhaps God did that for Paul specifically as He is the one that heals, not Paul...especially when Paul speaks of the thorn in his own flesh and how the Lord keeps you grounded(my Grace is sufficient)....I do believe God does & will give people "sign gifts"when,if & how He pleases.... I have not revisited this study in a great number of years so I just quickly wrote from memory but the in depth studies did estimate specific times by arranging Pauls letters in the order they were actually written and when he no longer mentioned speaking in tongues(even when he spoke of being Spirit filled)or any other "gifts"......just because he did not mention it doesn't mean he was not operating in such.....It would take me hours to find my notes,if I even kept them? Anyway, just trying to answer your question of how I think they may have come up with these things(as you put it-lol)...there is no Scripture that says specifically when these gifts would cease and even the most in depth studies are only speculation because sign gifts are no longer mentioned(as I said already)... We walk by faith & not by sight....having faith that God is able to do all things, exceedingly, abundantly and beyond anything we could dare ask or even think...according to the power that works in us!!!Halleluliah, praise & glory to God-in the Name of Jesus... With love,in Christ-Kwik

  6. Hello and WELCOME. Genesis 1:26-28 NASB Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Genesis 2:7 NASB Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

  7. Why do we need miracles to show that Jesus is Messiah? Why do we pay peoples breakfast forward at McDonalds in the morning? Why do we say prayers for people that need Gods help? Why do we mow our neighbors yard when they are in bed sick? We do those things to reflect our Savior Jesus Christ. Why would we need miracles? For the same reason. And not everyone is a christian. Look at some of the people that have had visions of heaven and hell. Those visions have led people to believe. Im not saying every prophecy teller or vision is true. But people seek God after hearing these stories and how they have changed peoples lives. Anything is possible through Jesus Christ. Dont doubt something because you dont see it.

  8. I read somewhere that it was 4 inches thick.

  9. early Jewish tradition states it was as thick as a man's hand. does this mean it was as thick as a man's hand is long, or wide? Yes that is my understanding of it. It was inches thick, but it's hard to get good sources on this sort of thing you really have to look hard or be lucky enough to already own books that cover it in depth.

  10. Welcome~! ~ Do You Believe In The Jesus Of The Bible And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Ephesians 3:9 Or The Jesus Of The Evolutionary Tales Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? Isaiah 45:9 Please Tell Us A Little Of Yourself

  11. I think you would probably need to read some Josephus works on the issue of the Roman/Jewish wars that happened after the violation of the temple, AD 70 But from what I can tell in reading about the fall of Jerusalem it was important to to get out at the first sign of trouble before the siege started (Which Christ's prophesy is about). Doing this would allow you to avoid the danger and suffering that came starvation and fires started by the siege engines and the chaos of war. If you however did stay behind in the city and went through the siege it was important to flee the city quickly when it fell because the survivors of the siege were enslaved. Naturally mother's with young children would be sitting ducks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_War

  12. Maybe it is more like frosting. Smells good, looks good, tastes good, and especially it makes you feel good; but there aren't many nutrients for growth and repair or for sustaining health. Scurvy or Rickettes, maybe? Gotta eat them brussels sprouts!

  14. I do not think that the understanding depends on how hard one tries to understand. The understanding itself is granted, as I think, by the Spirit. And for the understanding to come one needs to commit to a pure heart, as I think.

  15. I think so too. The Holy Spirit guides your prayer, stands for it, as I think, and even prays for you.

  16. bible mentions how the spirit speaks even through groanings, I would say the Spirit of God speaks in many different ways through every believer, praying in tongues is probably what this scripture is leading to

  17. Do you prepare yourself for prayer? I know there are prayers we pray at an instant because they are necessary. But how do you pray in the normal run of events? Read the preceding verses, they give a much better idea of what the verse you are looking at means. Jud 1:18 They said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions." Jud 1:19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. Jud 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. It is evident that this scripture is talking about those who are worldly and do not have the Spirit dwelling in them, and as a result do not keep themselves "in the love of God". Luther (I think it was him), said that "if your prayers are hot air, all you will get as an answer is mist".... So it is that if you are worldly and pray from a foundation of your own passions, and not from a foundation of the Spirit, you can expect mist as an answer. Pray however as my favorite prayer warrior Nehemiah prayed, and your answer will be the thing you are trying to achieve, in His Will, like the walls of Jerusalem being rebuilt! If Nehemiah could do it, could pray such awesome prayers, and prepare himself before he did, so can we, because Jesus has told us we can. Here.... Mat 21:21 And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen. Mat 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." To have faith means you have the Spirit dwelling in you. The answers you get to your prayers however, are not always (seldom) the answers you would expect. They work to your Good, as scripture says, but sometimes you will not even see their work. That also is faith, knowing they are answered without seeing the answer at times.
