And yet you continue to bring Roman Catholics as "examples" of Christianity with some regularity. So by not so deep proxy, why would you point others to that false religion of Roman Catholicism full of man's ways? Why would the Lord burden you to give such cultic mystical Desert Fathers examples here? Why would you refer us to a pro RCC website that clearly has said they are not for Protestants as you did in another post, that clearly promoted Roman Catholicism with necromancy prayers to dead Mary to save souls? Is it not Jesus ALONE that one prays to, and saves souls? Why is it that Roman Catholics get a pass on their false christ throughout much of Christendom? Who, through Transubstantiation, believe he is sacrificed and killed at least weekly! How is that NOT a false christ as they feel they cannibalistically eat his real body after this man made ritual is done? Could one quote the false christ of the Jehovah's Witnesses that believe the arch angel Michael was christ prior to birth as well, without bringing Jehovah's Witnesses cultic thoughts this forum? Christian folks should completely pass up on these Roman Catholic like "Desert Fathers," with it's short example from "saint Moses the Ethiopian" that was given. Along with the pope's "cannonized" Roman Catholic "saint Benedict" that was mentioned mixed in there with Jonah. Some real "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" thinking for this "Learn to Hate Judging" teaching. The "Desert Father" thinking is much akin to it's Eastern meditation cousin, something I left back in my past many years back. For a short time, there were "two" gods I was (unknowingly) serving as a babe in Christ. One, my newfound Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, (Glory Hallelujah!) and the other, the false god of eastern mysticism. Upon coming to this realization through God and His Word, I repented of it and left it far behind. When I initially saw these same worldly ways coming into the church some 20ish years ago, albeit, now under the "guise" of Christ, I was shocked. The same thing we are seeing here in this "teaching." The VERY THING God had me repent of, was now entering the church under many fashionable "christian" sounding names, while attempting to "mix in" God. There are "two" kinds of meditation. 1. With the "CLEARING" of your mind, one will find a false and temporal peace. This is the false peace of the Desert Fathers, which is akin to, and found in various Eastern meditations as well. Same things, different labels. Along with repetitive prayers and/or silence along with breathing techniques, one boarders into self hypnosis, something that God forbids. The "christ" that you meet there is a false "angel of light." (2Co 11:14) 2. God's way of meditating is by way of "USING" your mind, to think and ponder upon God and His Word He has left for us. Man's Roman Catholic liturgy with it's false christ excluded... A portion from a Brother in the Lord on "The Desert Fathers." Many of the Desert Fathers, in their zeal, were simply seeking God through trial and error. Many different kinds of disciplines were tried, some of which are too harsh or extreme for people today. Many different methods of prayer were created and explored by them." Attempting to reach God through occult mystical practices will guarantee disaster. The Desert Fathers of Egypt were located in a particularly dangerous locale at that time to be groping around for innovative approaches to God... "...the Desert Fathers believed as long as the desire for God was sincere–anything could be utilized to reach God. In conclusion, when the Lord see's the heart of "saint" Benedict and these "Desert Fathers," He sees lost men, bent on liturgical and fallacious religious works as a means to finding God. Symbolically, they're building up yet another "Tower of Babel," as the One World Religion continues to come together during these end times. Isaiah 11:6 Isaiah 65:25 Please keep in mind, the type style used in 1611 by the KJV translators was the Gothic Type. The type we read today, and you are reading now is Roman Type. So the words can look a bit different, but they are the same, just different types. Along with grammatical spelling rules that have changed over the years. To clarify a bit on the Gothic and Roman types, and spelling changes, this is a portion from a small book I have called "The Answer Book" by Samuel Gipp: (Who also quotes Dr. D.F. Reagan in his book.) Printing Changes "...For instance, the Gothic s looks like the Roman s when used as a capital letter or at the end of a word. But when it is used as a lower case s at the beginning or in the middle of a word, the letter looks like our f. Therefore, also becomes alfo and set becomes fet. Another variation is found in the German v and u. The Gothic v looks like a Roman u while the Gothic u looks like the Roman v. This explains why our w is called a double-u and not a double-v. Sound confusing? It is until you get used to it. In the 1611 edition, love is loue, us is vs, and ever is euer. But remember, these are not even spelling changes. They are simply type style changes. In another instance, the Gothic j looks like our i. So Jesus becomes Iefus (notice the middle s changed to f) and joy becomes ioy. I took a look at the mixed up video of Francis Chan's called "Are You Destroying The Church." It contains some truth, some Scripture twisting, and some error. He implies a unity at all cost mentality, or "god" will destroy those speaking out against his version of so called "unity." A tactic that I've seen for many years by those who are in error used to "silence" any nah sayers, with a "curse of death from God" mentality if you were dare to speak up. On the side of error, Mr. Chan sided with a number of "known names" in our generation that others brought up in this forum. Rick Warren, who embraces the Emergent church. Mark Driscoll with his filthy "potty mouth." Mike Bickle with his "dominion theology," and "mystical centering prayers." And John Piper, a Lectio Divina advocate in the past, who boarders into Contemplative prayer by embracing the mystic Richard Foster, and says of Rick Warren “At root I think he is theological and doctrinal and sound.” These are but a small number that are entrenched in mixing up the Gospel with the world. The "world" is in much of the church now, when we are "supposed" to be a light to the world, not the other way around allowing the dark light of the sinful world into the church. Mr. Chan, who sides with them over Saints who would Biblically expose their errors to be "divisive," and to have nothing to do with them after two warnings. In obfuscating the meaning of the verse he brought up that is found in Titus 3:10, he goes about twisting it to protect the guilty, while calling out those who point out their errors as being the divisive ones who don't want the unity he speaks of. He goes on and on about God destroying the temple, which we are, and then implies "god" will destroy you. Followed up by asking: 16:54 "Are you going to bash Rick Warren? This is a guy who loves the Lord." Are you going to attack Mark Driscoll, are you going to attack John Piper? Are you going to attack Mike Bickle? 17:45 "And I'm reading this, and I'm like, "god, how come more people aren't dead?" "...And here's what I hear from the lord, they haven't been warned." "The church hasn't warned people. We listen to gossip." "...Warn the divisive person, warn them again, then the bible says have nothing to do with them." It's like, if your going to keep striking the temple, then I need to get away from you." (Referring to any who would dare critique Rick Warren, Mark Driscoll, John Piper, Mike Bickle and many others like them.) While I'm not sure what Bible version Mr. Chan is quoting from, this is one of the places where the KJV carries more depth. In Titus 3:10, it uses the word "heretic" where a version like the ISV would use the word "divisive" the word that Mr. Chan used. Either version however, states in the following verse, that the individual is sinning, and condemned of himself. Are people who "rightly" point out God's truths for the love of the Body of Christ to keep them from the wolves sinning and commending themselves? No, of course not! (KJV) Titus 3:10-11 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; (11) Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. (ISV) Titus 3:10-11 Have nothing to do with a divisive person after you have warned him once or twice. (11) For you know that a person like this is corrupt and keeps on sinning, being self-condemned. A person under any religion, but particularly the christian, who holds and teaches opinions repugnant to the established faith, or that which is made the standard of orthodoxy. In strictness, among christians, a person who holds and avows religious opinions contrary to the doctrines of Scripture, the only rule of faith and practice. 2. Any one who maintains erroneous opinions. Mr. Chan mentions "gossip" not in context of what a true sinful gossip is, but twist the meaning of the word towards any that would dare speak out against any questionable or outright false "preachers" in our day. Even if they themselves speak well outside of God's Word, taking it out of context. Those that speak out against these men, as the Word of God calls some to do in the Body of Christ by Mr. Chan's statements, he is basically saying we are "idle tattlers, idle talkers, those who tell idle tales." Nothing could be further from the Truth. Handling the Word of God in context, and exposing error as was often done in the New and Old Testaments does not qualify as "gossip." Would Mr. Chan rebuke the Apostles and Prophets for calling out ungodly false men and women who were mockers, false teachers, hypocrites and liars as "gossips" as well? GOS'SIP, n. One who runs from house to house, tattling and telling news; an idle tattler. Mere tattle; idle talk. To run about and tattle; to tell idle tales. In the above, this side of Mr. Chan's "love" is lacking, and "crazy." He would do well to heed those who are called to be the "eyes" in the Body of Christ as they present God's Word against fallacious teachings. On a another note of interest, Francis Chan from some of his past has an "Evangelicals and (Roman) Catholics Together" mentality. "And virtually every doctrine that can be found in evangelical Christianity is also reflected in Catholicism." - Francis Chan As an "ex Roman Catholic" myself, he must not understand Roman Catholicism very well with it's Transubstantiation christ, a christ who is sacrificed time and time again as Rome twist about the metaphorical meaning found in John 6:53-56. He died ONCE and for ALL: John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and He bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Before a Christian were to pass these along, a brief explanation is given first prior to handing a recipient one. Giving the recipient a reminder "in color" of what the colors represent pertaining to the Gospel for further reflection later. Prior to a booklet or bracelet being handed out, one briefly walks through the colors as follows, along with a few verses from the Bible. A Gospel Tract accompanying the "color book" is a great idea too! Gold: Representing heaven. A beautiful eternal place where God resides. Revelation 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. Dennis, although I do not know, I would "guess" you had been praying for these lost, and now deceased, family members, friends? If so, you have no way of knowing how God may have answered those prayers through others! Years ago, I worked at a Christian homeless shelter. A very disturbed man that had his jaw wired shut from a gang beating showed up after he left the hospital. He stayed for a few weeks and recovered, and moved on. The next time I saw him was on the news, turns out he was a regular Bonnie and Clyde of sorts, as he had taken a car at gunpoint, forced the driver to drive while shooting at police who were in pursuit. While no one had been killed in that episode, it turns out he had killed a dozen or more people in the past. Capital punishment by injection was the jury's verdict. (Something I believe in.) On the day he was heading out to be executed, I did find myself asking if I had shared Christ and His gospel with him while at the shelter. I had, and felt some relief in a sense. His last words, per the news, were "Goodbye world." I would add to all Christians here too, a funeral is a place to prayerfully and politely express not only our condolences, but to share the Gospel with the living, whether it be one, or many. Even if we felt the one who died may not have known Christ. I've had several opportunities to stand outside of the funeral parlor while folks are exiting, and prayerfully pass along Gospel tracts upon their leaving. Generally very few refuse. Death is such a final thing, gets folks thinking on their own temporariness on this side of life, wondering if there's anything more when their not Born Again, and of course, we all know, there is! And Heaven or Hell are the only two eternal destinies. For the 1.2 billion in the RCC that believe in Purgatory, be warned, there is no such place. I've got no problem with folks going to the graveyard for a visit, tidying up the place with some reflection on times past as others mentioned. However if their looking into any kind of ancestral worship, (idols) prayers to the dead, (necromancy) or soaking on a grave for any kind of anointing, (heresy) this would be sinfully wrong against God. I would add the graveyard is another place where one can politely share the Gospel, or just quietly pass along a Christian tract to those visiting. I've done this a number of times. I've also enjoyed reaching out to grave diggers a few times with the Gospel, as there are very few people want to talk to them!

Truly a mess, we have one of those "pub churches" around here. During various festivities, their out with their rock music, advertising for a local beer company, and reaching out to... the lost??? In my reaching out to them one day with the Gospel at a town festivity where they had a stand, and commenting on their beer, they were real jovial like, and mentioning "hey, we don't judge anybody, and like, beers cool, what's the matter with that!" I left them a Christian tract, and they received it with a silly smile... 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. (12) For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? (13) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. Who knows? Hopefully some will repent and come out?

I really liked them all Omega, thanks for sharing! I think it's cool too how you are able to change from one color palette that's colorfully bright, such as in your peacock feather and sea scenes. And then tone down to bring in the more "earthy" colors, as shown in your desert and canyon art pieces.

As a sidebar on Todd Bentley: I knew a local "Christian" guy around here a few years ago who returned from Florida after feeling "anointed" by going to a Todd Bentley' "revival." A couple of us visited him one day, along with hearing all the hype of Todd Bentley, he had a man sit down who's one leg was supposedly a "bit" longer than the other, (not an uncommon thing) and tell him god was going to "heal" him. Having an eye for detail, I watched this man massage one leg as a distraction, as he "pulled his sneaker just off of his heel a bit." Giving the appearance that one leg was longer than the other. He then proceeded to "prey" and he miraculously and slowly pushed the mans sneaker back up on the heel, as if "god was shortening his leg." Followed by declaring the man "healed." I called him out in front of others for his magician's trick, and called for his repentance, describing what I had just seen. He simply went on to deny everything...

Not sure if this tattooed fallen angel on Todd Bentley's leg is Emma, could be? Either way, you'll not find me believing in or worshiping that "thing." And Bill Johnson thinks this false prophet Todd Bentley should be in ministry again, AFTER his adulterous affair just a few years ago? He was not in "God's" ministry even prior.
