  1. Q: Why are all Jewish men required to make a good cup of coffee? A: Because according to the Torah He Brews!
  2. I really needed that today. Thank-you.
  3. You can change the appearance but you can't change the chromosomes.
  4. I don't think I understand this assertion. How is science 'dead'? And I am not sure how it matters if God is *explicitly* 'in it' or not. It works pretty well at what it is meant to do- understand the workings of the physical universe. If one doesn't believe that God created and sustains His creation, one can't have a right understanding of science. For example: If you remove God from creation, you must explain how it (the universe/life) created itself in violation of scientific laws. By attempting to do so, scientific understanding gets convoluted. It's "dead" science.
  5. I think fear of punishment is a valid reason to seek a pardon from God. The very act of being fearful indicates one realizes they are a sinner - one who has broken God's Laws - and runs to Him on the basis of believing His promises of mercy and forgiveness to all who ask.
  6. Faith comes from Jesus (God) as a gift (Ephesians 2:8) as does love (1 John 4:7) For God is love. God (Jesus) is the source of those things. Hope that helps!
  7. Just know that we are here for you, and that we love you in Christ Jesus!
  8. I think one should feel guilty - because we are. If we don't believe we are worthless, wretched sinners - with nothing to offer - we won't feel the need for a savior. It's like Ray Comfort once said: People who don't believe they are sick, will never seek a doctor.
  9. That really doesn't sound right. In fact, it sounds rather dangerous. If I'm understanding you correctly, you may be opening yourself up to deception.
  10. Can you even imagine the world's reaction if Israel celebrated the killing of so called "palestinians" in the same manner? Condemnation would wash over the land!
  11. Once again, the true colors of Islam shine forth.
  12. Do the satanists seriously think they're going to sway anybody to their side with such a goofy display? I've seen the photo - the snake looks like a sock puppet!
  13. I try not to put any human on a pedestal. Like my Daddy says: "You can be smart as a whip, yet dumb as a post, all at the same time."
  14. Wow Wingnut - that was an awesome post! You are really teaching me a lot!
  15. Sometimes I feel guilty when I question God, knowing that He is always in control, and nothing happens against His will. But I take comfort in knowing also that God remembers we are but dust - we get frightened, anxious, and confused. He takes pity, and refuses to forsake or abandon us. The answers may not come this side of heaven - but they will come. Paul wrote: " For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." (1 Corinthians 13:12)
  16. Day by day, with the help of the Holy Spirit, against my rebellious flesh. Calm on the outside, but a war is raging on the inside. Pretty much the same, actually. When I obey - against my stubborn will. Sadly, every single day.
  17. I do agree LadyC, it just bothers me that if one group is forced to violate something they believe in, then no group should be exempt for whatever reason. People should be allowed to refuse business and not be punished for it. Heck, atheist bakers should be the champions of this, because they could take in all the business from bakers who have a problem with a certain cake.
  18. Smarty pants. Could it be that the language will be the same as Adam an Eve spoke? Wow. I never thought of that! That seems to make perfect sense to me!
  19. I don't know if this helps, but it says here that they consider the baby "mere fluid" until 40 days after conception. And they don't consider it a person until birth. Link: http://www.myjewishlearning.com/beliefs/Issues/Bioethics/Abortion/Fetus_in_Jewish_Law.shtml So it seems they don't start counting until the baby is born.
  20. Is Christmas celebrated by Christians as a pagan holiday? Nope. Case closed.
