  1. As long as we are dreaming about some changes, lets do away with the raising a billion dollars for one campaign. I like the suggestion you have here, only do away with the big money wasteful advertising somehow.
  2. 1 Cor 13:8-10 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. Doesn't verse 10 tell us when these gifts are done away with?
  3. You are correct! Nobody knows thoughts or the hearts of others. So I'll share my thoughts here, and that is I have read some of the prayers, and read some of the words spoken by the pope, and it certainly sounds like Mary is being held up and worshipped, so you saying your 100% sure of something about the pope, and his own words disagree with you, well, why are you taking it so personally?
  4. Agreed, and many prominent leaders have gone after rather strange doctrines. I've no problem with the criticism, though it seems at times we demand perfection from our leaders, and that they can't give us unless we have our eyes shut. But what about those of us who are not prominent, and we try our best to study and understand, and even reach out to others, when someone finds fault in us and the accuser comes relentlessly attacking? I think I'm saying at times we could show a little grace and allow others to be wrong. I did watch the interview of Graham years ago, and just watched it again. Graham somehow doesn't seem right, like he wasn't thinking clearly. Have you ever known what you are trying to say and everyone just says "huh?"
  5. link did go to factcheck, but said page not found for me.
  6. No matter how hard a man tries to give his heart wholly to God, the accuser always seems to come finger pointing, its almost as if there is not a perfect man or preacher, they all have flaws! So, if everyone is not yet perfected, does that mean that everyone should sit down and shut up, and leave the preaching of God's word to someone else? Or do we give it our best shot, knowing the accuser is after us every day?
  7. http://www.inforum.com/news/4159755-neil-young-celebrates-birthday-kennedy-joins-pipeline-protesters-nd "During Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s stop at the main protest camp, where, surrounded by media and camp supporters, he characterized the company's fast-moving construction tactic as bank robbers emptying the till and police not willing to stop a crime in progress." http://www.inforum.com/4158594-column-what-dakota-access-pipeline-protesters-arent-telling-you "Protesters claim that the Standing Rock Sioux pursued meetings with an unresponsive Army Corps of Engineers. Court records show that the roles in that story were in fact reversed. The corps alerted the tribe to the pipeline permit application in the fall of 2014 and repeatedly requested comments from and meetings with tribal leaders, only to be rebuffed over and over. Tribal leaders ignored requests for comment and canceled meetings multiple times. In September 2014 alone, the Corps made five unsuccessful attempts to meet with Standing Rock Sioux leaders. The next month, a meeting was arranged, but "when the Corps timely arrived for the meeting, Tribal Chairman David Archambault told them that the conclave had started earlier than planned and had already ended," according to a federal judge. At a planned meeting the next month, the tribe took the pipeline off the agenda and refused to discuss it. This stonewalling by tribal leaders continued for a year and a half."
  8. Hi town! Great answers! The great mega asked for common questions, I don't know that many that are suggesting questions are necessarily looking for them to be answered in this thread, though I guess it's up to mega if he wants us to follow up.
  9. Why did God create our souls to be eternal? Why does God want us to praise Him, How can God be perfect and Holy and still love and forgive us? Why does God choose some, and not others?
  10. Why doesn't God prove Himself to me?
  11. Why does God love us, as we are sinful and hard hearted? Why does God so clearly speak to some, and not others? Why does God give us anything good, even when we lack faith and are guilty of unbelief? What does God want from us that we might gain His favor? Why does God want us to pray, when He already knows everything?
  12. Why does God physically heal some, and not others?
  13. I'm still thinking on what you asked, when you said what are some ways you all have gotten a better grasp, and a recent reading in Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest came to mind that I had been mulling over: "The modern view of the death of Jesus is that He died for our sins out of sympathy for us. Yet the New Testament view is that He took our sin on Himself not because of sympathy, but because of His identification with us. He was “made…to be sin….” Our sins are removed because of the death of Jesus, and the only explanation for His death is His obedience to His Father, not His sympathy for us. We are acceptable to God not because we have obeyed, nor because we have promised to give up things, but because of the death of Christ, and for no other reason. We say that Jesus Christ came to reveal the fatherhood and the lovingkindness of God, but the New Testament says that He came to take “away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). And the revealing of the fatherhood of God is only to those to whom Jesus has been introduced as Savior." Oswald is saying Jesus died not out of sympathy, but out of obedience to His Father. Phil 2:7-8 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. I guess to me, this all points to how great our Father's love for us is. Unimaginable! Unfathomable! And undeserved, yet He still loves us! Who are you Amanda? You are loved by the One True Creator!
  14. I'm sorry, what is all it could possibly be? Guilt or God's love?
  15. Thanks Hazard. Years ago, I learned that Australia banned guns. Then, many times since, I have heard through news media, that it has proven gun bans are effective in severely reducing crime, with murder rates dropping. I always found it hard to believe. Then, to my surprise, last year I learned there was not a gun ban in Australia, but people can still apply for permits and buy new guns! Is my understanding correct? I don't know how we can tell the truth anymore, all the news writers are either uninformed or deliberately being misleading.
  16. Yes, the guilt can be an immense weight, I wonder if God wants us to continually feel this guilt, or understand His love?
  17. I don't really have an answer other than I agree with you, it is very hard to understand in my head, but to me, it seems so hard to understand how could God love us, yet it is the definition of God's agape love. I wonder if anyone understands agape, more than just being able to explain it. . . .
  18. Not sure what is meant by the scandal remark, but somehow it made me think of one of Shiloh's old, (well only a few years ago) posts I think it was titled "the offense of the cross". I tried searching, couldn't find it. Very good reading, maybe you could let us know what you meant?
  19. "It is symbolically 12,000 furlongs square. The word `furlongs,` in Greek is `stao,` meaning a measurement & figuratively a covenant. Thus we realise that this city is the one `covenanted` to people in Israel." Interesting you said symbolically 12,000 furlongs, when many people state it is literal measurement. "So when the New Jerusalem descends they are given new bodies and are the residents of this palatial city." Here, you just stated "new bodies" when many people state it will be physical bodies. Not sure my question, just I don't understand how some determine it has to be a literal measurement or it has to be new physical bodies. I don't have much to comment on your blogs, but I find them interesting, thank you!
  20. Well,no lol. And Trump might be toning down a little now, but I'd still love to see people who actually believe the border should be controlled, given the jobs. Besides, if Trump suggested sheriff Joe, everyone who finds him controversial would be so relieved when he fills the spot with someone else.
  21. I heard sheriff Arpaio lost election (not voluntarily) just so he would be available to fill the position of head of homeland security! Now that would be exciting!
  22. Trump is not in office yet, I know that Trump will not accomplish everything he wants to. I heard the direction he wants to head, and he took on all naysayers, media, politicians, pollsters, accusers, everyone, and did not quit. He is swimming upstream trying to put some common sense into politics, and still people here are wanting politics as usual,
  23. What if the only job in town available was driving the truck that hauls the grain to be processed into alcohol? What if I'm a mechanic and this same truck comes in for repairs, should I refuse to work on it? Where indeed does one draw the line? I find it interesting that Jesus had a centurion come to Him, a man with soldiers under him: Matthew 8:9-10 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And Jesus healed his servant! Was Jesus concerned about the centurion performing his occupation and killing people? Or whether the centurion was fair to his servants? Jesus marveled at his faith! Why do we immediately want to judge everyone by their place, if they own a liquor store, why it might contribute to someone's alcoholism. What about working at Mcdonalds then, as it can contribute to gluttony, or poor health of someone who eats there. Now we know, we can find no true christian owning or working in any establishment with alcohol, or in any fast food franchise, or any place that contributes to supplying products to these places, and surely no farmer could be a christian and sell his products to these same places. What about the other end of the product trail, can a garbage truck worker be a true christian and pick up garbage at such corrupted places? Where do you want to draw the line on all these judgmental attitudes? Jesus talked about the FAITH of the centurion! Alcohol even had a great purpose when Jesus walked the earth, it was used to make water safe to drink. Anything can be wrong in an excess, too much alcohol, too much food, too much idleness, too much busyness. How is your FAITH?
  24. So, Australia protects its borders by processing people who illegally try to enter, on offshore islands: "The Coalition has repeatedly argued offshore processing has been an essential part of its border protection policies, arguing it was a powerful disincentive to people who were contemplating a trip to Australia by boat." And is trying to pass a law to prevent anyone who tries to reach Australia by boat, from ever being granted a visa after that: "until Parliament passes legislation preventing anyone who tried to reach Australia by boat after July 19, 2013 from ever being granted an Australian visa." So, Australia detains illegals on an island for years, passes them off to the US for resettling, and calls Trump "hardline" and wants to complete the deal before Trump takes office? Sounds like Australia knows how to protect itself!
  25. Thank you for providing the information, I fear way too many do not realize the enemies stages of their plan is in print, and is being carried out, and how deliberate and accurate they have been. As many have stated, God is in control, though I grow more convicted every day that God does not want us to sit on our hands and let the enemy have their way. Not only in a spiritual sense, but also in the physical. The war the Muslims have brought is in no way only an image to make themselves look effective in order to send recruits oversees, as you know. God bless you Oo
