  1. I have to agree with you, but they can make seats to accomodate large people just as they accomodate those with other handicaps. Most people who are overweight have dieted most of their lives and also have other problems that created it such as thyroid disease. Studies of twins seperated at birth show that eating habits and exercise have relatively little to do with weight. It is determined geneticly. But the ignorant bigotry goes on. I agree with you Willa, my mother and sister our both a little overweight and when I watch them eat they hardly eat anything, whereas with weight so far in life God has richly bless me as I can pig out all I want and hardly put any weight on, but if my sister or mom just look at a piece of cake they gain 5 lbs. JesusSavedMe, I won't lie, I usually am more attracted to smaller women, but I have met a few larger women, that I really thought where the cat's meow, just because of the spiritual beauty they had from spending time with God. I tried to judge people by their motives, not their appearance, as I find this to be righteous judgment, John 7:24 The sad thing is even people of faith can get caught up in the physical appearance as Samuel tried to anoint the wrong man as king of Israel but God told him that He look at the heart, I Samuel 16:6-7. There is one type of beauty us single Christian men truly desire that is the beauty of a women of God, who spirits is truly close to God, it causes such a spiritual radiance on her, that no amount of earthly beauty could ever compare too. Peter refers to this beauty while addressing women in I Peter 3:4.
  2. The word Trinity doesn't appear in the Bible but the concept is both in the Old Testament and New Testament. We even see the Trinity being referred to as the Godhead, in Acts 17:29 and Paul's letter to the Colossians, Colossians 2:9. But along with I John 5:7 I believe that the following OT passage is one of the greatest about the Trinity: 16) Come ye near to Me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was there Am I: and now the LORD God, and His Spirit, hath sent Me. 17) Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I Am the LORD thy God, who teacheth thee to profit, who leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Isaiah 48:16-17
  3. Victory in Jesus, as many times as I have felt defeat, I know in Jesus Christ my Savior I have complete victory. At Calvary, it reminds me of the Mercy and Grace that Christ Jesus has given to each of us.
  4. Thanks for sharing Persuaded it is always good to hear about heroes of the Faith, especially around this time of the year.
  5. As Sevenseas, quoted the Love of money is the root of all evil. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. I Timothy 6:10 Jesus in another parable describes a rich man who loved and coveted his money. 15) And He said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16) And He spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to deposit my fruits? 18) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I deposit all my fruits and my goods. 19) And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast abundance of goods laid up for many years: take thy ease, eat, drink,, and be merry. 20) But God said to him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall these things be which thou hast provided? 21) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God? Luke 12:16-21 It is a sin to gain treasure in this world, and ignore God who has bless you with those riches. James states it this way concerning rich man in James 2, basically saying if a rich man see his brother or sister have need, and is financially able to help with money, yet doesn't his faith is dead. 15) If a brother or sister is naked, and destitute of daily food, 16) And one of you sayeth to them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:15-17 So if God has richly bless you with money, and you ignore the needy completely, I would have a check up on one's faith. As to selling all you have, that is not require in the sad story of Ananias and Sapphira Acts 4:1-11, we see Peter telling thee two poor souls, of property which they soul and then lied to the Holy Spirit about that it was their own, Acts 4:4.
  6. As stated many times God wanted to give us a choice, because God wants His creation to choice to love Him, not to be like a robot. But no God was not surprise He even reveals in the Creation Story His wonderful redemption plan. Speaking to satan the serpent, He states: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed, and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His Heel. Genesis 3:15 In this verse we see God promise to sent His Son Jesus Christ who at the time of His death had His heel bruise, but by overcoming death with His Resurrection bruise the head of the enemy, Isaiah 25:7-8; Hosea 6:1-2; 13:14. Reading Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, we see that God has a season to everything. God even reveals the exalt time in which He would sent His Messiah/Christ or His Only Begotten Son, in Daniel 9:24-27. Paul's writes concerning this: But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law. Galatians 4:4 This is very important because John tells us for what purpose Jesus was come: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. I John 3:8 Jesus Christ came to destroy the power of death that the devil had over us for our disobedience to the Father, Hebrews 2:14. But He also came to help us receive the adoption as sons of God by the Holy Spirit, see Galatians 4:5-7; Romans 8:14-17; Hebrews 2:9-18. God wanted to show to His people that He has called, His Great love for them. So He knew yes that Adam and Eve would fall, but He didn't care because He love humankind so much that to redeem them, the Word the Second Member of the Godhead/Trinity would become flesh and died physically and raise from the dead so that He might make us member of the Family of God. John 1:1; 12;14; 29 51) Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57) But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:51-56 Yes Jesus has already given us victory over death, but we must wait til He returns the Second time, because although He knew no sin, He became sin for us, II Corinthians 5:21, so that the first time Our Savior came was to take care of our sin problem, but we will all truly be blessed when He comes again with our salvation, Hebrews 9:28. Devil simply means "one who does evil". This is why Christ called Judas Iscariot a devil. John 6: 70 Then Jesus replied, "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!" Satan simply means "The adversary of God". This is why Christ called Peter Satan. Because Peter was acting like a adversary. Matthew 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." As soon as Simjaza and his 200 followers had sinned against God by mating with women and creating monsters on the earth. God buried them in the desert in the middle east. Where they remain to this day alive but unable to move because of all the tons of mountains covering them. This is the Chains of darkness that Apostle Peter spoke about. 2 peter 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; so you see if God was to kill satan the devil it would have meant all of us who did not know and follow Christ from birth. You really think mountains hold demons ? For the record, he is not a demon.... then whatt is he JERRY SPRINGER! Sorry, it was there and I took it. LOL; don't apologize for something that funny, just awesome.
  7. Thanks JM. Persuaded, thanks, for the great information, really appreciate it. I'd wonder first who is being referred to in 2:2 : "I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don't tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars." Who is it that was tested as claiming to be an apostle and were found to be a liar by the church of Ephesus? That one church charged with such a task. My thought is men like Hymeneus and Philetus who both denied the Resurrection in some sort, II Timothy 2:16-18. And perhaps Alexander, I Timothy 1:19-20. Men like thee and others who followed the gnostic teaching.
  8. Just had a few questions on Revelations 2:1-7? The first two really hit home for me, and the other two just openly curious as to what others think? First how can a believer keep from leaving his/her first love? Revelation 2:4 Second, what are the first works referred to in Revelation 2:5? And the other two do you think that the candlestick being moved out its place, Revelation 2:5, could be referring to the Church of Ephesus along with the other 6 churches in Asia mentioned in Revelation 2-3? Who or what is the Tree of Life in Revelation 2:7?
  9. Adam was the first in God Creation of the world. Or we could say that Adam is the first created man under the Old Testament, Creation. Whereas Jesus Christ was the Only Begotten Son of God, that is God come in the flesh, John 1:1; 14; Philippians 2:5-8; Isaiah 48:16-17. But we see that God send His Son, that He might redeem those of us who trust in Christ Jesus, and make us adopted heirs to God, Galatians 4:4-7; Romans 8:14-17. When Jesus rose from the dead He became the First of the New Creation of the new man; Revelation 3:14 and II Corinthians 5:17. As stated in the Old Testament the story of the Feast of First-fruits in Leviticus 23:9-14 to which Paul refers in the following passage. 20) But now is Christ raised from the dead, and become the First-fruits of them that slept. 21) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23) But every man in his own order: Christ the First-fruits: afterward they that are Christ's at His Coming. I Corinthians 15:20-23 For when our God Jesus returns He will fashion our vile bodies like unto His Glorious Body, Philippians 3:20-21; I John 3:1-2. But although Jesus is still God, we must remember that by becoming a Man, He became poor for us that we might be rich in Him, II Corinthians 9:8. For Jesus is still God and equal to the Father, but because in His New Body He is like unto His brethren and sister, Hebrews 2:9-18, He will be our High Priest and submit Himself to the Father, I Corinthians 15:28-29. So just as Adam was the first Creation of the Godhead, so Christ is the First-Fruit, of the New Creation of God, that is the First Resurrected Man, and all that trust Him will He give new bodies when He returns. For by Adam came death, but by Christ Jesus come life eternal, and membership into the Family of God; Galatians 6:10; Ephesians 2:19.
  10. The boy, was smiling when he saw his dad bring in the big package; he had told his father how he had wanted a bicycle, and now it was his birthday and he just knew that it was a bicycle, after eating his cake, he ran to unwrap his package, to his utter shock it was not a bicycle but a unicycle, will maybe he could exchange it for that bike later. But what do you do you when God gives you a gift, that you really wouldn't give to your worse enemy. Can't take it back and exchange it, can't tell God, no, I don't want it (even though I have). As I sit at this computer in tears, wishing God would have rather killed me, than to give me the gift of singleness; I can hardly stand myself, actually I might even hate myself; and I really don't appreciate a gift like this, with such a strong desire for so much more. I feel like a total fool, my friends from my youth did things their way, and God blessed them, I was stupid and said I would let God provide for me, guest I just presume that He grant me a wife, but now I know it was the worse gift He could have given me, what a fool I have been.
  11. Thanks Persuaded enjoy reading your thoughts on this; you also made many good points.
  12. This is such a wonderful OP, Marilyn, excellent points. May God richly bless you, for glorifying His Son precious Name. Now I will be thinking all night at work what does Alpha and Omega, mean to me. About the only thing that comes to mind right now is Aaron Jefferies song He Is. A beautiful song where they go thru each Book of the Bible and find how they point to Jesus, John 5:39.
  13. Reading carefully Joshua 5:13-6:7 we see that Joshua is commanded by Jesus (for most if not all Bible Scholars agree this is who the Captain of the Host of the LORD is) to march around Jericho once each day for six days, but on the seventh the Israelites where to march 7 times around the city. If I understand right most Jewish scholars say this 7th day was the Sabbath, but even if it weren't why didn't Joshua, question His Commander about marching on the Sabbath? Just wondering what everyone thoughts were on this.
  14. Thanks GE, some good information to know.
  15. Hello LouisTracht, and welcome to Worthy. I think you gotten some great answer to your question.
  16. I would have to agree with school, especially when looking at John 5:39; II Timothy 3:15.
  17. Thanks for sharing Stormy, I have a feeling you are already on at less your second oven. Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, know and read by all men: II Corinthians 3:2 The Words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12:6 Paul calls the believer epistle, so that in a sense we as believers are the living word of God, that many will read and we know that God will purify His Word, 7 times, so I really think that God has given you a message to share. But even we as God's saints seem to prefer to have uplifting message of happiness for ourselves, so when you have to share news like this, it just goes against our flesh. Praying for you sister.
  18. IMO they are both the same thing. John is just relating to us Who is the Author of the Book of Life, when he calls it the Book of Life of the Lamb. 19) Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20) Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:19-20 Daniel even seems to point to Jesus/Ancient of Days as opening these Books; while the writer of Hebrews seems to state that Jesus is the Author of our Faith, Hebrews 12:1-2. For we are told by John that Jesus give us life, John 1:4; 10:10; I John 1:1-2. 22) But ye are come to Mount Sion, and to the City of the Living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable, company of angels. 23) To the general assembly and church of the first born, who are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24) And to Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant, and to the Blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24 Because of all that Jesus did for us, we shall come to the City of the Living God, so that because in Christ Jesus is life, we are now part of this City, for we are just men made perfect because of Jesus Righteousness, II Corinthians 5:21. We are part of the general assembly and church of the first born, that is born into the Family of God. For we were dead in our sins, but Christ Jesus has made us alive, Ephesians 2:5. So for my 2 cents worth, I think that John is just telling us the Name of the Author of the Book of Life, when he calls it the Book of Life of the Lamb.
  19. Makes me ashamed of my home state. I know that there is a large muslim population in the Twin Cities area.
  20. 16) And He spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. 17) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19) And I will say to my soul. Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21) So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:16-21 This parable that Jesus tells is of a man who chases after earthly treasure, but never seek anything of God's Kingdom. All this man care about was his earthly riches, and never gave a thought to the things of God. He never gave to the needy, Matthew 10:42; James 2:14-17; I John 3:16-18. This is why Paul tells us the love of money is the root of all evil, I Timothy 6:10. A person who loves money that must cannot love and serve God, also; Matthew 6:19-21. But we can also seek heaven by not only our money, but also giving our time, and strength, and ability to God's business, Matthew 9:36-38
  21. 23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. 24) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:23-24 To put on Christ is to renew our mind, so as that we are not comforted to this world, but transformed, Romans 12:1-2. 24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25) But after faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26) For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:24-27 By our faith we take the first step of putting on Christ. Being Baptism into Christ Jesus, we are baptized into His death, so that our body is buried with, so as Christ was raised from the dead even so we should walk in the newness of life, Romans 6:3-4 13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14) But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the lusts of the flesh. Romans 13:13-14 To do this is to not continue in our life of sin, that is not to let sin reign in our bodies, Romans 6:11-12. This of course doesn't mean we are sinless, I John 1:7-10; but rather that Christ is our Master. Basically IMO to put on Christ is to understand that our whole armor comes from the righteousness of Christ, I Corinthians 1:30-31; II Corinthians 5:21. To walk in the Faith of Christ Jesus and all that He has done for us, and not to walk by by human sight, II Corinthians 5:7 For us to truly put on Jesus Christ, and walk in the Spirit, is to have the Love of the Holy Spirit shed in our hearts, Galatians 5:13-16; Romans 5:5; I Peter 1:18-25.
  22. I have always thought of the story of the Footprints in the Sand, where the man, ask Jesus, you promise to always be with me in life, but at my most awful trials, I see not two pairs of footprints in the sand, but one. To which Jesus replies, my child when life was to tough for you to walk with Me, I just pick you up and carry you. Even though I have often made a mess of things in my life, I know when i am weakest, I no longer walk with Jesus, He just carries me. My walk with Jesus means at my lowest times in life, that I can't walk; my Savior picks me up and just carries me.
  23. Not really, but maybe they are referring to Psalms 139:11-12.
  24. Just remember that God will reward you greatly. 10) For a day in thy courts, is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalms 84:10-11 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His Name in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10 God promises to take care of those, who work in the Name of Jesus Christ, and minister to the saints.
  25. Thanks for sharing Fez, that is an AWESOME Video.
