  1. What authority do you think England had? Did they have control of the land to give it to the Jews when the Balfour declaration was drafted? I believe that England did control the land at the time.
  2. Thanks for sharing John. That was very educating. TLF, I don't think we are going to agree on this, as I think I and John will agreed that God rules the world and put it in England's hand to do His will: ...that the Most High ruleth the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will. Daniel 4:25b
  3. I have the same problem and as of recent God has granted me victory over this addiction. But the first step you have already token confessing it. Remember Christ word to Laodicea: 17) Because thou sayest,, i am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18) I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Revelations 3:17-18 I've often wonder if this nakedness might be referring to porn addiction in our age, I do know that the white raiment is our for the taking by just believing in Christ Jesus: for those who don't have Christ wedding garment will be cast into outer darkness, Matthew 22:12-14. And all we who are sinners are made righteous by Christ, II Corinthians 5:21 But with the sin of porn, we will spot this holy garment: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 23 As I stated earlier it is an addiction, so I can easily fall to it again. But one thing I have notice if I keep my mind on the things mention in Philippians 4:8; and bring every thought to the obedience of Christ as told to do in II Corinthians 10:3-5, the Holy Spirit can really help me, while if I start to think upon the thoughts of porn, the battle is already more than half lost. So one of the first things I do is once I start thinking on these things is try to force then out of my mind, and replace with the thoughts that God delights in.
  4. I remember before becoming a Christian having some relationship with a few women, but since coming to Christ only one real one. This happened so long ago i am nearly in tears just thinking about it. It was with a girl I meet at Lowry AFB,CO while I was in Tech School, her name was Anna and she was from Arkansas, while at the time I was from Kansas. We were both Christians and she was a beautiful blonde, like a royal fool after she propose to me twice, the second time from her unit in Arizona, while I being an Air Guardmens at the time was back home in Kansas and this was over the phone; I did not pursue the relationship like I should have, and being single to this date I regret it every day of my life. So Augustus my advice as long as you two connect, continue to pursue you never know this could be a real chance for you, from God: House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD. Proverbs 19:14 As a nearly 50 year old I can nearly guarantee you few people really want to be alone, may God Bless you in your relationship, praying for you.
  5. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His Name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10
  6. I know it is sometimes hard to do, but always try to give a soft answer: A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1 And remember whoever this person is you are speaking of is probably already know by his/her actions, but by restraining your words you prove you have a cool calm spirit: He that hath knowledge spareth his words; and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Proverbs 17:27 I know you aren't a man Zion, but as a lady you have proven you wisdom by staying calm and keeping your words few. For we even see in the next verse a fool is counted wise by this act: Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28 Now if a question is directly asked of you, IMHO, just keep in mind Pauls command: Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6 Or Peter puts it pretty much the same: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: I Peter 3:15
  7. Hello GoldenCross and a belated welcome to Worthy. Just a reminder we all just as Paul stated know what you are going thru: 24) O wretched man that i am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25) I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:24-25 So we see here that we are to serve God with our minds, Paul tells us, we do this by thinking on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue, and praiseworthy; Philippians 4:8. He also states: 3) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; II Corinthians 10:3-5 By this matter we can become the spiritual man that God desire that we be, for we will have the mind of Christ; I Corinthians 2:14-16
  8. So as of late I have really been feeling down and just beaten up my soul just seems to be dried, and my brain just to dumb to the utmost. I really need a miracle from God; but just wondering is it wrong to desire the miracle? I mean because of the pain I think I might desire the miracle more than God which I know is wrong. Probably wouldn't make a difference really don't have faith.
  9. The soul and spirit are distinct from each other. The spirit is dead in all human beings until they are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. "The heart" is a metaphor for the soul, and the soul consists of your thoughts, your emotions, and your will -- your inner being. Man is a tripartite being with a body, a soul and a spirit. The spirit communicates with God and understands the things of God. Agreed. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:23 As Ezra stated the heart and soul are pretty much the same this is why Jesus tells us let not your heart be troubled in John 14:1, 27b, while earlier in John's Gospel states His soul was troubled, John 12:27. As believers we want to keep our hearts young, for faith comes from the heart: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, Romans 10:10a and Jesus tells us to be converted as little children, Matthew 18:3-4. Our soul/heart is where we yearn for God. The Holy Spirit resides in the believers heart giving us hope and God's love, Roman 5:5. Hope keeps the heart cheerful but sorrow will break the spirit, Proverbs 15:13. The soul is the presence one notices in the heart. The spirit is spoken of many times by Paul: And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Ephesians 4:24 IMO Paul is telling us that the spirit is the presence we all notice in our mind or if you prefer one's intellectual. For he tells us in Romans why we need to renew our minds: 24) O wretched man that i am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25) I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of God. Romans 7:24-25 We renew our mind so that we may follow God. Paul even tells us to bring every thought into obedience to Jesus, II Corinthians 10:5 and gives a great list of things to think on in Philippians 4:8. When it comes to our spirit God would have us to all age in proper fashion, Hebrews 5:13-14. As for our body, it for a Christian is more than just a temporal place for our soul and spirit. Because when we are born again it become the Temple of God. For God the Holy Spirit dwells in it now, I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20. So that God is concern about our mind (spirit), soul (heart) and body. Because with our hearts we believe in faith and by renewing our minds we can be obedient; and as for the body the Holy Spirit desire a honorable vessel, II Timothy 2:20 Just the two cent worth from an aged soul and a young spirit neither of which do I consider a good thing.
  10. Hello Hosam, and welcome to Worthy. The first person you need is Jesus Christ as your Savior. I have had a problem with lust since my teenage years, but it help me to come to the understanding that I wasn't the good and great person I so highly thought of myself as, so I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior to save me from my lust along with my other great sins. I have heard that a high majority of Christians (and that includes females) have some type of porn addiction, and I include myself, even though God has given me some great victories over it recently, my old nature, is always a problem. But I have found if I keep my thoughts on being obedient to Christ, II Corinthians 10:3-5, and think on the things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, which have virtue and praise in other word, things which God through Christ has provided us; Philippians 4:8, I do not feed the lust of my flesh. If you are a Christian remember that you are not alone in your struggle but do keep in mind the enemy is out to devour you: 8) Be sober, be viligant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 9) Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. I Peter 5:8-9 Just remember when we fall in whatever sin we have committed that Jesus stand before the Father for us: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteousness. I John 2:1 So it would be like the devil going to God the Father throwing every sin we have just committed at God, and telling the Father that we can't be His child. But then Jesus step in and states, Father this child trusted Me as their Savior, stating Paul's words about Himself: For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21 So that even though we are sinners, because Christ took our sins, on Himself we who are so unrighteous, are made into Christ Jesus Righteousness and He never once sin. I would suggest next time you fall to this sin, immediately confess to God, and than glorify Christ Jesus for what He has done for you.
  11. I agree, and I think this is what Jesus was referring too: 23) Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24) Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to the brother, and them come and offer thy gift. Matthew 5:23-24
  12. The verse prior to this give us a hint: Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. II Timothy 2:3 Paul is reminding Timothy that he is to suffer for the gospel's sake, and not to care for the things of the world. In Paul first letter to Timothy he explain to Timothy how to wage good warfare. 15) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom i am chief. 16) Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that to me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting. 17) Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever, Amen. 18) This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare. 19) Holding faith, and a good conscience, which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck. I Timothy 1:15-19 IMO Paul is telling Timothy and us believers that we are to remember that we are sinners the chiefest of sinners, but because of the longsuffering of Jesus Christ or simply our Savior's mercy and grace to us even though we are sinners deserving hell fire, we have life eternal. And because Jesus saved us from our sins, we should never glory in anything we do, but always glory in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done. Thus remembering we have a good conscience because of the work the Holy Spirit is doing in us, but we must remember it is the Holy Spirit doing these works, not we ourselves.
  13. Agreed, IMO, if one continues to long in a sin, it will become the sin unto death, John speaks about in I John 5:16.
  14. I agree and know that some scholars agree with your view Other One,
  15. Amen Oak, I agree with Angels4u, this was such a wonderful video, love hearing about how his pop, can to Jesus also.
  16. Jesus goes on to describe those who will be able to call upon His name on the day of judgment. It will be those who hear His words and put them into practice, the same ones referred to in verse 21 as those who obediently do the will of the Father in heaven. True believers are the good trees that produce good fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), the true sheep who look to Christ, depend on Him, commit themselves to Him, trust in Him, and believe on Him for righteousness, salvation, and eternal life. These are the ones who will enter into the kingdom of heaven. http://www.gotquestions.org/Matthew-7-21-23.html Amen Bopeep, especially when reading the verses around this passage that speaks a mouthful. For we see these words of Jesus. And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46 If ye love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. I Samuel 15:22
  17. So that is why my house and workplace have had a lot of toads, thanks for clearing this up for me Shiloh.
  18. Hello Sarah and welcome to Worthy.
  19. Origen stated that only God knew who was the author. However, most scholars agree that it is heavily influenced, if not written by Paul, by his thought and influence. Whether it was Barnabas , Luke, or Apollos doesn't matter. It has the mark of Paul all over it and it carries Apostolic Authority. Peace, Dave Hello Dave, I know there is no way for us to prove the author of Hebrews but I have often thought that it was Priscilla, the wife of Aquila.
  20. Yes it is very important; and I need to find a home myself. 24) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. 25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26) For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for us. Hebrews 10:24-26 When we are part of an local assembly (when possible for some are in remote areas or very unfriendly space such as in a Islamic nation or such) we will not only receive blessing from others but bless others also and so have God faithfulness fully directed at us: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His Name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do ministry. Hebrews 6:10
  21. Hello LadyKay, I really think that one of the surest sign of one having the Holy Spirit, is witnessing. 13) Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. 14) He shall glorify Me, for He shall receive or mine , and shall shew it unto you. John 16:13-14 But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 Another way is God's love being instill in our hearts as it is impossible for any human to love as God does without His Spirit. And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a great heart ferventy: I Peter 1:22
  22. Amen John, that is a great post. I was shocked today to hear one of the NBC stations, quoting an African American man who video his whole stop by a policeman, the black man was polite and respectful to the cop and told the cop thanks after he wrote him up a ticket, so the cop tore the ticket up and just gave he a warning. The man said if more blacks would just be courteous to the police there would not be nearly as many problems.
  23. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 16) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: ad we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17) But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18) My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. I John 3:16-18 True divine love is not only being willing to lay our life down for the brethren, but also when we have means to, to help those in need. But if we see a sister or brother in Christ needing food and we can feed them what good is it for us to say I will pray for you, without giving what God has already more than provided us with; James 2:14-17
  24. I just love the fact that because of Jesus giving us His Spirit, we can now call the Father Abba, that is in simple terms just calling God the Father, Daddy or even Dadda(h). 14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.Ro 15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father. Romans 8:14-15 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son, into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:6 By Christ Jesus sacrifice we have been adopted into the family of God.
  25. I think first of course God but than anyone who knows who the Antichrist is and has some power be it merely political or spiritual and political. At some point it will become clear to Christians who this politician is and I am afraid at that point he will come to action. I think partially he already did. I think it is already clear Russia is lead to aggression by Putin and KGBs around him, they are atheistic and even anti-religious despite what they say on TV. Beloved “O Lord, according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy hill, because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a byword among all who are around us. Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate. O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.” Daniel 9:16-19 (English Standard Version) Ever Wonder Why While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. He made me understand, speaking with me and saying, “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding. At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision. Daniel 9:20-23 (English Standard Version) God Would Allow Such “Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time. And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.” Daniel 9:24-27 (English Standard Version) A Thing I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. Hosea 5:15 (New American Standard Bible) hello everyone, I have for years believed that the restrainer ,the one that holds back the evil one is the holy spirit , and we are filled with the holy spirit so once the believers were removed from the worldly scene then the evil one would come and tribulation would start, but I have done some study, and I believe that the Restrainer is the arch angel Micheal, as spoken of 2 Thessalonians 2;3-8 and in Daniel 12 the time of the end when he stands, and this brings us to why it is said we don't wrestle with flesh and blood but the powers of darkness and principalities in heavenly places. is this to be true , for many of the churches are teaching that once the saints are ruptured out then the evil one comes, many believe its the holy spirit , what do you say brothers and sisters, and if so why would Jesus state the end would not come until the apostasy and the abomination of desolation is seen first, then run, why are we running to the hills ? so this is another reason I believe if we are to see these things in our generation by the buddy of the fig tree, then we cannot be taken out for there is a 42 month period where satan is allowed to overcome the saints in revelation, so this ties into the tribulation of the saints, what do you all say, I am open for if any other interpretations, thank you everyone for your help. I think first of course God but than anyone who knows who the Antichrist is and has some power be it merely political or spiritual and political.
