  1. Of course, sins vary in their degree , they are all covered by the Blood.Except the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Some teach that sin can’t be committed today. Returning to the OP, Anyone who claims that Jesus is not The Christ is an anti-Christ
  2. I notice John made no distinction between sinning and sinning willfully.Perhaps God,using John as His mouthpiece, does not make a distinction between the two.To different degrees, all sin is willful. To those that misinterpret the Hebrews passage and are scared to death about it, they put that verse front and center and the whole Bible Revolves around it.Some believe that the Blood does not cover willful sins.....That would make The Blood Of Our Savior not worthless, just half worthless.Scary position to live by.
  3. The Bible says that God will extend His mercy to anyone that asks........” Lord Jesus , have mercy on me , a sinner.” That prayer will get you saved. The important thing is that we “turn” (repent) to Him.He is there waiting to save. That simple prayer has repentance built in and faith built in.You are turning from your own self righteousness ( hey....I ain’t perfect but at least I am better than that guy in the penitentiary! I am good enough to make it.....others will say hey look at all the good works I have done ,and I repented from all my sins.....even that last second sin that would have damned me otherwise) to the only who can justify you.You have repented or turned from whatever it was that was going to get you saved. “ repentance towards God with faith in Jesus” is the repentance that counts for salvation. When God puts His Spirit in you ,you will find yourself repenting quite often to maintain a healthy fellowship. As a Christian if you sin and don’t repent God will chastise you until you do.That type of repentance did not save you and it dies not keep you saved.Only faith in the Shed Blood Of Jesus does that.God will reveal that Truth to you if you sincerely asked for mercy. He will open your eyes to Paul’s Gospel thAt Jesus told Paul to preach.1cor15:1-4.——- That Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead after 3 day’s in the earth.Jesus through Paul promised that a simple belief in that Good News is sufficient to save.Adding to that Gospel , Paul claims , is a perversion of that Gospel and you will “ fall from grace”and Christ will be of NO benefit to you.Do t let anyone fool you......No matter how “ righteous” it sounds, be it obedience to the Law, doing good deeds ,repenting of all sins or whatever the Modern day Judaizers( those that say you keep the law to be saved or keep the law to stay saved) these things are all great—-God will be pleased and bless you for these good things. As your Christian walk continues you will FIND yourself doing more and more of these things that please God.Its only natural as He is transforming you into the likeness of His Son.One can look good on the outside but only God can TRANSFORM the inside.Trust Him to finish the work that he started and then and only then will you live out the joy and peace He wants for His Children.God bless you
  4. . We have been told to DO anything is legalism. Not true......That has been made clear many, many times. Maybe if I try to make it clear one more time it will stick in your memory.....please try to concentrate and find another canard to smear us with .“ do” whatever you want.....” obey” all you want...” repent “ all you want.....all great things. I try to do these things myself and strongly recommend that others do the same. All of these things please God.Unfortunately, doing all of these things do not save you or keep you saved. That is where you are apparently blind. Do every good thing you can in this life ,you will be blessed for it.You are a legalists or as some prefer, a Judaizer when you think these things that you “do” got you saved or keep you saved.Faith plus nothing for salvation.Cain tried to impress God with what he could “ do”. It didn’t work then, it doesn’t work now.
  5. I think bad teaching in the majority of churches is a bigger problem.....the ones that hate Paul and reject his teachings and only preach from the Old Testament or the four Gospels ...... other churches preach “ Jesus saves....BUT! ......watch out for those that add to Paul’s gospel 1cor15:1-4... one could fall from grace—- or worse
  6. Believing is enough. The good stuff happens as the Indweling Holy Spirit conforms one into the image of Christ. The thief on the cross proves that belief is enough. To follow Jesus is great, but if you think it saves you or keeps you saved you are in error. It was the error the Judaizers made. As a member of the Body of Christ, if our aim is to obey Jesus, we are to follow Paul, as he follows Christ. Those are our most recent marching orders.God bless.
  7. Great salvation verses! There are more Our new friend may like.......” Lord have mercy on me a sinner” is one. “ Jesus save me” would be another. All the thief on the cross said was “ remember me”.The latest salvation Verses come from Paul in 1cor15:1-4— believe Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead. That is the true, pure Gospel and Paul said that is what we will be judged by.....this salvation verse is hidden from those that perish, according to Paul.It appears that the Holy Spirit has pierced your heart—- nobody comes lest the Spirit draw him——I will be praying that God will you give wisdom in the coming days.God bless
  8. “Misery loves company”. The religionists are over-eager to point their finger at the sins others are committing ( always a type of sin that does not tempt the finger-pointer.) All they have done is “clean” the outer, visible man. They have not attended to the inside of the cup—- only Jesus can make that heart change. All the things they really want to do? They can’t do them no more. All the things they don’t really want to do? They have to make themselves do, lest others say that they are not “ living the C hristian life”.Nobody can live the Christian life—- it is lived THROUGH you.Since I encountered Jesus, I don’t have the gall to point my finger at anybody.I am a wretched man saved only by the grace of God and the faith He gave me.The sour-faced religionists can’t have “ fun” anymore and he resents it!Things I used to do routinely I no longer consider fun anymore. I was changed, why one could even say it was like being “ born again”. True repentance does not lead to a pride that looks down on others and wags their finger at the poor sinner. “There but by the grace of God go I”. The tragedy of today’s Christianity is that some have turned it into a religion....Satan loves it....rather it be just a little bit,or “ overly”.
  9. How does a Believer find any peace or real joy in their walk with Jesus on this earth with a sword of Damacles hanging ove their head?
  10. That was dripping with sarcasm...just in case one took it seriously.
  11. That.....plus lucky last second Repentance to take care of that final sin the Blood just couldn’t handle. God pity the man who has bad luck with that.
  12. I worked mid nite shift for 35 years and even though I am retired, I still stay up waaaay late.Gideon is probably fast asleep and I don’t really need his promise—- I can see that he is a good man and that he will try to answer my question—- here It is.......I know a person that was saved when she was very young,as the years went by, she strayed kinda like the Prodgil Son....her straying included drunkenness, fornication and adultery, she had a child out-of - wedlock, sold herself to buy the heroin she was addicted to.She finally saw the light and repented. If she was saved by her repenting how is she any different from the OSAS guy.She could return to all her bad behavior every day and as long as she repented every night before she went to bed she is safe .The “ repent from all you sins before you die”crowd and the “those that believe the Gospel are eternally secure” crowd are both free to theoretically sin up a storm and get by with it.It seems your crowd is no different than mine in this regard.Your biggest fear that one can sin and get away with it applies to your crowd too——- do what you want.....just make sure you repent.I would welcome your response.
  13. I will answer your question if you promise to answer mine.Deal?
  14. I am late for Harley ride to Moms.....gotta make this fast.....will return to debate later. There are many people that are saved and do not know it. I think your crowd is saved if they believe the Gospel..That is the one and only “ test”.Simply Believe it .If Paul left anything out it would have been beyond cruel. If you believe this you are my brother.....if you don’t believe in eternal security, to me you are giving up your assurance and you will only know a fraction of joy God has for us who totally trust in His finished work. I used to think like your crowd.I have seen both sides and you have not.You guys fail to understand that all the stuff you worry about like continued sinning, disobedience, failure to repent——I am no different than you guys. I am not looking for A license to sin anymore than I am looking for a drano enama. I could choose that but who wants to? Objectively speaking, and not that it matters for salvation, my performance probably is better than most of the crowd that so dislikes my crowd.A can’t even kill a bug in the house without feeling guilty( I always turn them loose lol) so how much of a sinful life do you really think I lead? We have the same goals for a life pleasing to God....we just go about it differently. You guys obey because you think your salvation depends on it....there has to be a constant anxiety attached to that....little true joy , no true Sabbathing or rest in Him. I obey because God changed me from the inside out and if there is something that I can do or refuse to do that will cost me my salvation I trust God to see that I will not do it.I have staked the Eternal Lives of myself and my family on that. Its called trust.I believe that is what God is looking for.Faith. We give Him that and in return He will give us everything. The only place we have a serious difference is when some try to do what I sincerely believe is adding to Paul’s Gospel with ANYTHING.Even If it sounds good.Repentance after salvation comes automatically to me since I became a man of faith. It dies not keep me saved....it restores my peace with God.Using it as a must for salvation in my opinion is adding to the Gospel and is dangerous ground.Other than that, you can believe in NOSAS .....God's gonna get us all Home , some just will not enjoy the ride as much as others.God bless
  15. This man was disgracing God’s church and God will only put up with so much.God was as angry with the church as He was with the sinner because they were doing nothing about it and were even proud about it.He was turned over to Satan for punishment and repentance.Had God done nothing, it would be like putting His stamp of approval on it.God would have killed the guy if necessary to show an on- looking church and the world that the Body of Christ is different from the world.God chastises His children,if He doesn’t we are none of His.No mention anywhere that he lost his salvation and was saved again by repentance. He had Gods Curse on Him but he was not lost.
  16. You say you were waiting for this response? I am happy to oblige. Faith plus nothing.
  17. He was saved when he believed the Gospel or Paul is a liar.....that would make Jesus a liar because He is the one that told Paul to tell us that if we simply believed His Gospel,we would be saved.Adding to the Gospel like claiming that in reality that which “ actually” saves is believing the Gospel PLUS getting in that last second of life repentance is putting oneself on VERY dangerous ground.God help those who preach it.
  18. Notice that all those that were told “ I never knew you” had one thing in common. “ W E” did this “W E” did that. Not one word About what Jesus did.Not one word about the Shed Blood that was the only thing that saved anybody. For all the work they did, they wanted what they deserved.God gave them what they deserved— damnation.Jesus wants all the glory. He earned it. Nobody else .If it has never dawned on you that His Shed Blood is the ONLY thing that saves you , go ahead and tell Jesus about all the good things YOU did, impress Him with how you resisted all those things that you really wanted to do, show Him that your repentance scorecard was up- to - date the day you died.Jesus is looking for those that sincerely worship Him and know why.Two things save us—— Christ’s Blood and our faith. You will be rewarded for acts done in faith if you are saved.First things first....Put your faith in the Blood only or you won’t have to worry about any rewards
  19. That guy in the foxhole is saved just like the thief on the cross was.
  20. If he believed the Gospel of Paul , given to him by Jesus, his salvation was guaranteed or perhaps Jesus was not aware that there would be those that would commit vile sins somewhere down the road. I’m sure God had many tools at His disposal to get this vile sinner back on track. At least he was not a murderer like David. If God can forgive David, he can forgive anyone.God could make this man so miserable , he would likely be very glad to repent......and in the end he relented,he was welcomed back into the church.Had the fool not repented God would probably taken his life.I don’t believe he would have heard “well done”. I think he would be ashamed at the Bema Seat of Christ and would be one of those Paul warns us about who will “shrink back” in fear that day and will make it.....although he would make it as one who could be compared to somebody that barely avoided being killed by a fire.He made it out alive, but lost everything he could have had.Theres gonna be some very unhappy Believers at the Bema seat——- saved but unhappy.
  21. The Bible says he was eventually welcomed back into the church. His Salvation was never in question. Had he not abandoned his sin I believe God would have taken his life.....He did it to those who insulted the Communion Service....the man’s vile sins were covered by the Blood, just like ours....his faith saved him....just like us
  22. One last word of warning for those who want to dig in their heels and defend the undefendable position that a man can commit any act of vileness and still remain saved. Lest we forget, those branches in Him that did not bring forth fruit were gathered together into bundles and burned. May that fate be avoided for all who read these words. I heard about a saved man in Paul’s Church That did something extremely vile and yet remained saved. He slept with his stepmother. An “ act of vileness” if I heard of one. I am left “ digging in my heels.”Faith plus nothing.OSAS.
  23. May I suggest a visit to this site to help you get a handle on things and get some relief and assurance in your walk with Christ...... get gods gift org. God bless you and know that many here are praying for you.
  24. I harbor no hatred for Catholics, I have many friends and relatives that belong to that faith. The vast majority are great people. Most of them are no different from Protestants or even Muslims.Their faith is nominal ....they no more have an indwelling of Gods Spirit in them than my dog.Yes, they are nice people, but unfortunately God is not looking for “nice” people......He is looking for lost people. We are all lost until we become born again through faith in the Blood of Christ—- and that alone.Catholic doctrine denies these truths and makes it very difficult to see ones lost status......they think they are safe and sound as long as they are obeying catholic rituals. That it what I hate.
