We are told to pray on every occasion with every type of prayer so if it is one form of prayer that you use then it is relevant. No we do not have to ' only believe,' Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. That basically means the ten commandments. Or daily read a bible passage and you write in a book what you read, what struck you about that passage, why, and what you prayed about. Either of these will get you back into reading and thinking about what the Bible says.
