There isn't a lot you can do. If the gossiping is continuing complain to him again and stop attending. If you do stop, let him know why you have stopped going. Talk to your parents about trying out other churches in your town.

Do you believe in any Christian themed near death experiences?
Who me replied to Ervin P's topic in General Discussion
Quite simple No I do not believe them, I see no need for their and think there aim is to confuse and mislead the gullible. God himself came down to earth, as Wesley put it, ' Our God contracted to a span incomprehensible made man!' He lived and taught us, we have all we need of his teaching in the Bible, he showed us how to live and died in our place a disgusting, degrading, vile, portracted death. So we do not have to face God's judgement and he rose from the tomb to show us he had achieved this. What more do you want? -
I did not say anything like that. I commented on the protestors who want the police to stop the stop and search tactics and still somehow prevent crime in there community.

Relationship with family
Who me replied to ashwin2020's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Just two points. Heaven is dependant on being a Christian. Second all you can do is demonstrated Christian love in action to your Grandfather, to your Father and to your Mother. Show them the sacrifical love of Jesus in how you act and care and serve them. Show them also by your words and pray for them, that they might see and listen and understand and be saved. -
What sort of answer do you expect. If you knew of a cancer sufferer who has treatments lined up that would cure the cancer and that perso refuses to attend the treatment, take any medication etc etc what would you say to them? You know your life is wrong. You know the consequence of doing nothing yet you do nothing. Please checkout the Christianity explored web site for a church in your area running this course and contact them. Yes it is difficult to give up the pleasures of sin. Yes it is embarrassing to tell family and friends you are a Christian. Yes people will test your resolve, will dislike you, call you a ' holy Joe ', and worse. You will lose the fear of hell and gain the peace of God. So are you man enough to try? Or fool enough to carry on doing nothing!

Jesus said in John10:10. I have come that you may have life and that you may live it to the full. There is No promise of riches, no promise of health only a promise of a full life lived in God's service.

Standard questions:- Why do you believe this? What evidence do you have for this belief? -
What do you say to atheists that claim religion has compelled...
Who me replied to a topic in Apologetics
Ask them two questions:- Why do they believe that? What evidence do they have for that belief? Just like there is evidence that politics has caused most wars in history, so there is no evidence for this claim. -
May I make a suggestion. There is a web site with a post, " 25 tips for succeeding in your OCD treatment " It is written by a psychiatrist to help his patients and has many helpful comments. Do search for it and have a read.

I hear the anger and frustration that a black man has died while being arrested by the police. I hear the anger that the police are ' raceist'. Yet I don't hear about how a police force is to police a hostile community, how they are to do their job and stay safe themselves. Nor about how most crime, most violence in black communities is black on black. The police need to retrain and teach about safe arresting methods and about being respectful to civilians. What of the community, how are they o respond?

A difficult question about effeminate

Please have a look at the travel programs made by a British politian and pay particular attention to his choice of clothes. Michael Portfolio ' s great railway journeys. He wears contrasting coloured trousers and jackets in bright colours. If you like those type of colours and can carry them off do so. -

You are the one who is contradicting scripture. It clearly says, 'if he repents, forgive him.' Something you totaly ignore. Just as you ignore the comand to be like God. God only forgives when there is repentance. -

Why do you ignore what the OT taught the Jews? Have you never read that when they were aware of sin or making confession for sin. They were to take there best animal to the alter, lay there hand upon it while its throat was cut. Now to do that they had to recognise that they had sinned. That they were prepared to admit that and put it right. One cannot stand watching your best lamb die while smugly contemplaiting that you have sinned. An animal has died to put you right with God, one can only be sorry, hopefuly for sin, but also for the animal that died. That goes right through the OT. Then bring God into the picture. through out the OT he threatens judgement on Israel if they break the contract they have with him. There are curses that will come into effect and only removed if/when Israel turns from there wicked ways( repent) and prays. That is the picture in the NT. A passage few people bother to read is Luke 17. It has the shocking words. " if your brother repents you must forgive him." or words to that effect. -

I have no problem with forgiving others, what you have not identified is when do we have to forgive others. Please remember the whole bible teaches that before there is forgiveness there has to be repentance. -

Appeal to me for what? While I agree not forgiving and not passing that incident and emotions over to God leads to bitterness etc. I am concerned that you do not see the otherside and are unconcerned by the pain and heart ache that is caused by those who think they must forgive, when there is no biblical command that says they must. -

It is still a request by both Jesus and Stephen. What you chose to do regarding forgiveness is up to you. But it is when it is falsely taught that Christians must forgive and this is presented to those who have suffered real injury and they are expected to some how express a forgiveness they donot have that I make so much of a fuss about this. No one here has presented a theology of forgiveness that accounts for how God forgives right through the bible and how we are to forgive, accept myself. -
Who? Are they of any importance or relevance ? Who is supposed to be 'christian' and who is suposed not to be. Totaly unclear from the thread. I'll say this, how can any Christian be surprised at the level of hatred expressed by nonchristians to any Christian who dares point out that there are valid standards that are contary to those held by society. There are plenty of blogs that report the victimisation of Christians in the west.

Secular knowledge is of great worth, that is science, medical, engineering, electrical etc knowledge, but worldly wisedom rejects Jesus as Saviour and Lord so is worthless.
-
You want examples. God calling to Adam after he had eaten the forbidden fruit. God speacking with Adam driving home his guilt and still showing him mercy. God speaking to Cain after he had rejected his offering of fruit+veg. God speaking to Noah and his constant provission for Noah. Carry on.
-
Read the OT, every time you come across God speaking to a prophet etc or a prophet addressing the people that is an example of Gods grace in action. God did not have to do anything, that he did shows something of the extent of his love, grace and mercy.

I always wonder What is the point of these pictiures? What difference do they make to peoples lives? Are they becoming more Christ like in the way they live or are they seeking to make money out of this object?

Had a nightmare for the first time in years
Who me replied to yuert's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Simple answer is to talk to your parents. But if you can't do that then tell God you are sorry and ask him to forgive you and tell him you want Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. May I suggest that you go to church and talk to the minister. -
Most anger is selfish, it is about what affects me. But anger about what is affecting others is different. When we hear about child abuse or about injustice or cruelty to people or animals that is not automatically sinful. It is how we react after our first reaction. Anger that does not lead to positive action but only grows is sinful. Anger that causes us to seek to end what has made us angry is not sinful.
